Marc was SUPER helpful in getting my return package correctly put together when I failed to include a slip of paper inside the already taped up box. Instead of me needing to go home, open the package, place the slip inside, and re-tape, THEN bring it back to the store (what I think most businesses these days would say needed to be done), Marc took care of it for me right then and opened/resealed the box for me. Every time I have to go to the UPS store in HMB , I have anxiety. The employee Marc is incredibly rude, both verbally and nonverbally. My last four visits, three of them were with Marc and the fourth was with a tall, kind female employee. The three direct interactions with Marc were filled with deep sighs, eye rolls, and acerbic words. And during my interaction with the other employee, Marc inserted himself into the conversation by rudely commenting on my perfume. On another visit, March looked to the ceiling, let out a deep sigh and rudely said to me, "Can you take it out of the box?" I replied, "Can you be kind?" He said, "I didn't even do anything. I'm not helping her" and stormed away. The woman, presumably the owner, took over. I told her that he was always rude to me. She offered no explanation, no apology, no words at all. What does this guy have over on them? Why is he allowed to remain in this customer service role? Today I went to the UPS store in Pacifica and was met with kindness. I had to return an item to Dyson. Dyson sent me an ENORMOUS return label and I asked Marc at the UPS store if this would work for the return label. He said it would need to be smaller to include the entire barcode. He walked me through the process of emailing the label to the UPS store and he was able to adjust the size on his printer. They only charged me $.25 to do this and got me on my way. Marc was pleasant and very patient. Every time I've been into this location they are always helpful and efficient. I rarely wait in line and even when I have it's very brief. Considering the amount of people and packages that move through this small town UPS, they do an amazing job! We are a small local nonprofit, I broke my hand and called 6 days after I received the e-mail. They are expensive enough for a PO box, $92 and then charged a nearly 20% late charge, really ?? This is so low, really low, pathetic and his response, the owner, we do stuff for the community. He says I'll meet you half way, take the money I said, be the little greedy person you are. I will move the box as soon as can and never again frequent or use this place for anything Absolutely disgusting. Another gouging business. I had 10 intricate stone carvings that needed to be packed up -- they packed them with more care than other professional art packing companies that I have had in the past. Bossman Carlos and team are GOALS for any delivery company to emulate. They advise you on how to deal with the 1-800-UPS-ROBOT issue. They notarize all the stuff I need notarized. They are pleasant, efficient, and get it done. They move through the people, packages, and situations quickly so you can be on your way. They are great partners for all of us WFH peeps. It's nice to know that there are good quality delivery people and business services on the coast for the small businesses who depend on them. I brought in a quick return, requiring no postage, just a scan and go. There was a person in front of me with at least 15 packages to post so I inquired if I could slip in for my quick return. The customer agreed without issue but the clerk seemed greatly irritated. Initially refusing, he then proceeded to roll his eyes and sigh loudly. It turned out my return was for USPS, and he appeared even more perturbed that I had brought it to the wrong location. Shouldn't your store prioritize customer service? I never got to thank the wonderful team at this store. It happened around July, and I was shipping a UPS package from a different city, which contained an inexpensive but very sentimental gift for an infant that recently underwent a major medical surgery. It was supposed to arrive near the San Francisco area, but somehow ended up all the way out at a UPS drop off point in Half Moon Bay. I thought to myself, "Not again." This wasn't UPS's first time losing one of my packages, and dealing with the UPS call center can be a total headache where you're treated as another number. Out of desperation, I called the UPS Store in Half Moon Bay for assistance to help me find my package, which was not even at their location. With the help of two employees (I believe it was David and the owner Carlos), David was able to retrieve my missing package and Carlos re-shipped it to the right address. Words couldn't express how thankful and grateful I was, and I couldn't even hold back my tears because of how important that package was as well as the child that received it. I have a PMB box and been working my business with them for years! The owners and the clerks do their best to help answer shipping questions and complete print jobs timely. Prices nowadays have been going up and up, you can't buy a sandwich from Subway for less than $10.... But they have kept their copy services costs low, so the value is Great! Most poor reviews are due to customers that have no clue and expect something for nothing. These guys and gals help you out as best as they can with the systems and resources they got. read more

The owner replies on Yelp to negative ratings "we apologize for your experience of poor service." He states it on all of the negative reviews. NOTHING HAS CHANGED!! The employees act as they couldn't care less about the customers. I went in yesterday to drop off a return to Amazon and the experience was worse than usual. If there was an alternative UPS store I would be first in line. I know for a fact that many feel the same. Enough is enough! I'm contacting Amazon to let this be known. I'm so thankful for this UPS store in Half Moon Bay and the wonderful employees that really go out of their way to make projects come to life so vivid and beautiful. Anna has helped me over the years with school related and personal projects and has been especially helpful at crunch times where we are past due dates, and for that I am so very grateful. The other person who makes things happen is a great dude, a Shakespeare actor, theatrical performer, and makeup artist. Sometimes his facial hair matches his characters - ask him what he's up to and you'll learn something new for sure! You can't miss him with his unique jewelry and fun attitude! He's on top of everything and swift! His skill set is excellent because he has an eye for detail as well as the intelligence to notice any errors. I'm thankful for him as he understands situations and handles my emergency last-minute projects! I feel safe in the store with the staff wearing masks due to COVID. Then he came off the phone and served me. he asked me to put my box on the scale--I hesitated as it was already paid for. He repeated it louder and with an intonation suggesting I too was stupid. I'm not mad, just dissappointed I ordered a black lipstick for a costume two weeks ago, and according to the tracking information it was in fact delivered, but nothing came in the mail. I mean nothing. Today I was helping in the beginning by a man with shoulder length hair (very rude!) so be warned!! But Carlos finished helping me thank goodness!!! On occasion I have to drop off packages with a return label already affixed. Today, right at 4pm, I was headed to the door where someone was entering and the guy just about slammed the door in my face - "you'll have to bring that back tomorrow!" Seriously? I understand you may have reduced hours (although the UPS website does indicate they are open until 6pm as does Yelp) but customer service is what your business is supposed to be about. Also, if you have a sign on the door reduced hours 9AM to 4PM, but let one customer in and not the other, makes me wonder. In times of COVID I expect businesses to want my business not turn it away. This location clearly doesn't need it or the specific employee working isn't too concerned about his job but should be. If I wanted to make this a bigger issue I would contact UPS regional management to escalate my complaint. I suggest if this is an owner versus corporate owned location, they look into customer service remedial training for their employees! read more

Amazing service at our local UPS store! I walked in the day after Christmas with 14 boxes of returns! Anna was SO patient, when I was about to lose it! I thought I had it all under control until I realized Amazon didn't send me codes for all returns but had also sent me emails that needed to be printed. Anna told me to go ahead an forward those labels to the store and she would print them for me to avoid me another trip. Within 20 minutes I was out and all 14 boxes were on their way back and out of my house!!! Thank you, Anna for you help and keeping a smile throughout this craziness!! read more
