Older woman at front desk is very rude. Multiple encounters with her and I've seen her interact with other customers. She laughs when people are taping and packaging their returns saying "yeah that's not gonna work" yet not offering any advice as to why people may be packaging the product incorrectly. She also will do anything not to help you so that you use the self service machine at the front door, even when she's not doing anything. And if you ask questions her attitude comes off demeaning. Simply a negative experience every time with her. read more

Buyer (or package recipient) beware. UPS routed my package to this location for reasons unknown to me. I tried multiple times to call ahead to verify my package was there, but they don't answer. When I arrived, the lobby looked like a trash heap with a pile of packages up to my eye level. Patrons barely had room to form and line and exit. When my package was located, it had "$10 pickup" written on the side. Apparently the charge is because I don't have a mailbox there. Which of course I don't, because I would never have asked for my package to go there (I live on the opposite side of town). The customer service is horrible, and I honestly wish I'd taken my package and walked out without paying. I'm now battling UPS Store customer service for a refund, as this location's pricing policies are horrendous. Save your time and money and choose literally any other shipping location. Gainesville has many. And if your package somehow gets routed here, call the shipping provider and request it be transferred elsewhere. Buyer beware! read more

I love UPS! Your drivers are always great about telling me when my package will arrive down to less than or = to two hour window. They're VERY responsible w/ the packages. One time, instead of putting my package @ front door, they surmised it was something $$$ & put it right inside my wooden side gate. I was initially disappointed when I saw no package when I got home. This store is the worst they lost our package in transit and when we filed a claim they asked if we had insurance. No one offered us insurance on our package and we didn't know that was a option cause we would have done it. Now we are out 500 dollars and the only thing they gave us was 100 dollar check and a oh well. Do not go to this place just ship with fed ex or post office. Was in here recently and was shocked to see the staff not wearing masks, no hand sanitizer out for customers. Every customer that came in had a mask on excepting one young woman. However, the young male staff told a customer that she could take her mask off, and when she expressed hesitation to do so because her child would tell on her, the staff said it was ok for her not to wear it and he would not tell her child. She kept it on. When I was asked to sign for my purchase, I asked if I could have a wipe for the pen and he said "for real?" When I said yes, that they weren't wearing masks and as it was later in the day I had no idea who had been in and touched those pens, he recovered and gave me a wipe. He said "Oh we don't have to wear masks here," and then commented to another customer that his "girl works for Publix so....." The female staff said "we sanitize everything." That may be, though they didn't wipe anything at all when I was in there. And sanitizing surfaces only does so much good when staff is not wearing masks, could be asymptomatically spreading the virus to the customers. Especially given that this one gentleman's partner also works in a public facing position and could be unknowingly exposed, pass it to him, and he's then unknowingly exposing customers. I see the other owner comment regarding not wearing masks; these particular staff were rather brazen and cavalier about precautions. As a customer, it's frustrating to take precautions to protect others and see staff in a service industry not returning the courtesy. I only came to this particular store because the one closer to my house was already closed for the day. They do wear masks at that store; I won't make the same mistake again if this is the policy at this location. read more

I've been here a couple times and each time it felt sketchy. They charge you for every little thing, including tape. Only to tell customers, they need to make money. With this, they also lose stuff. I lost a knife set here. I was returning it back to Amazon and the UPS people did the "we get 50000 packages in one month, look st that pile, that's from one day," thing. As if that makes it acceptable to lose things. No apology. Just horrible customer service. Didn't offer solutions or accept blame. I will never be back here. You should beware leaving items here. You're better off driving to the one down archer Rd. It's much better staffed and trust worthy. I filed a complaint wit UpS and Amazon was a great help. No thanks to this store. read more

I've always had great experiences with UPS stores. Not here! Customer warning... If you think that you can just drop off your Amazon stuff and not be charged, you are wrong. This store in particular tries to charge you For Amazon returns. Claiming you have to buy all the packaging or pay them for taping up your box. Every other store I've been to across the country doesn't do this and the customer service is way better. I'd rather drive 15 minutes from my house to the other side of town and go to the other store in Gainesville. read more

I only wish I could give this location Zero Stars! 1st, I was charged .50 cents for tape, for tape! Now, maybe this is a normal charge, but Never has any other location charged me to tape my box. 2nd, I was using free Amazon prime return so imo any additional charge should be billed to them, not me. 3rd, when I returned from my car with the money and saying not one word, laid the money on the counter; the front desk girl was extremely immature, rude, and had the Audacity to say that when I put my money on the counter for the tape, while she was busy with a box mind you, that I should have handed it to her personall. She said that not doing so was treating her like she wasn't a person. Then when she gave me my change she put it on the counter instead of handing it to me. Now, doing this doesn't bother me as I don't find that rude in normal circumstances; however, seeing as she thought doing so was rude and not treating people as "people" her doing so was her way of giving me a Big " f* you!" Which is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. What was worse is her boss/manager was right there watching the whole thing and never once stepped in. This store needs to teach themselves and their staff how to be more professional, better customer service skills, and how to keep their own personal, unrealistic, expectations of others to themselves. I will Never go back to that store and I suggest you find another location. Ups, I would really look into this store, they are giving you a bad name. read more

I have shipped from this store a number of times, and the staff is always friendly, the store is clean, but I will admit one thing really irked me related to customer service, and I don't think I will be returning. The main reason I post is because it seems to be a common problem based on other reviews on Yelp and Google Reviews. I went in to print one sheet of paper to mail - on the sign next to the computer it says "computer rental $3", and then below lists copy prices of paper at 10 cents per page for B&W copies. Like most stores, I assumed (incorrectly) that the $3 charge would be for someone wanting to actually rent the computer for a longer amount of time (for typing or other activities that take more than 1-2 minutes), but was surprised to get to the counter to pay and be charged $3.53 for one B&W paper copy, and 1 standard envelope. The lady told me they are forced to have the computer (I assume from UPS), and therefore need to charge every customer $3 who even signs onto the computer. I understand the need to recoup costs and make money (and I am sure the reply from the manager, similar to their replies to other posts, will be that I am paying for a service they provide, and they will claim it is clearly labeled), but that just seems to me like terrible customer service, and they should make clearer on the sign that the $3 is included even in printing - because most people wouldn't ever think in this day and age of being charged that amount to print off one sheet of paper. Based on other reviews on here and on google reviews, I am not the only one who was surprised at the register...and they seem to be alone in this practice based on other places (including independent shops) who perform shipping services. read more

Too boot when I requested a receipt showing the time I dropped it off they refused and said that I'd have to be a paying customer to receive a receipt. Have always had good experiences at UPS Stores, UNTIL I WENT TO THIS STORE!! I had ordered a light fixture from a NM company and they mistakenly sent me the wrong fixture. They sent me a pre-paid UPS address label so the fixture could be sent on to the correct recipient. Unfortunately, I took the box to this store!! I had repacked the box well, but didn't tape it because it had always been my experience that UPS would tape it up. Not at this store!! The woman behind the counter asked me if I brought tape, to which I said, no because it had always been my experience that UPS would tape it. She's then told me I would have to pay $1.00 for the tape because they had to pay for it!! Uh, duh, I imagine this NM company paid a fair amount to have this box shipped, then re-shipped, but now they were charging me $1.00 for 25 cents worth of tape??!! Just read another review -- charge for tape - 50 cents . . . After I paid, she took the box, tossed the pre-paid label in it, then shoved it aside with a bunch of other boxes. Didn't even tape it up! Four hours later (6 pm), the website tracking is still showing "drop off". I guess it is still sitting on the floor at this UPS store . . . I regret going here and hope the package finds its way to the correct recipient because I know they are waiting for it. This is a more convenient store for me, but never again!! It appears from looking at responses to other bad reviews, the owner always has an excuse, never their fault. Omg! The biggest mistake I made was to ignore the reviews. The notary here could not possibly have been more rude. He looked like he was gritting his teeth and breathing heavily he was so angry. He would ask me questions in a demanding voice and then tell me no or tell me I only had two choices neither of which was what I had requested. He then told me we were failing to communicate to which I replied that there was no failure on my part but request was the same. My request? Horrible experience. The staff are rude and disrespectful. Because I was only dropping off a package, they didn't want to give me a receipt... they supposedly do not get paid... Their store failed to forward my mail and caused serious problems as a result. The problem was so severe I filed a complain with the Better Business Bureau. I went to send a package to my sister. I received amazing service. In fact, the best I have ever received at a UPS store. I felt like I was going into a neighborhood shipping center. They helped me repackage my sisters wedding gift so it would arrive in the best condition! In addition they took a few minutes to tell me ways I can save on shipping and made me aware of the best methods for future package wrapping. CROOKS. Private mailbox rental stores are notorious for stealing lightest envelopes they know will likely contain a check. The stolen monetary instruments usually change hands several times before being cashed. The thief who finally cashes it usually has no connection to the mailbox rental store. Two staff members stole an Expressed check where it was traced back to the owner (Howard) who signed for it. The check was immediately handed over after I threatened to call the Police with the evidence. read more
