Dan and "Jan" love to shame, scold, and chastise their customers. Are you hoping to have a rotten day? I have the solution for you. Go visit the very odd and bizarre couple who own and operate Westside Postal Express. Dan is always constipated, and Janice (Don't ever call her "Jan" -- She'll scold you and tell you how her wicked step mother called her by that name), who is old enough to be her husband's mother, calls him "Pops." These two have issues, but I can't pinpoint exactly what creates their extreme hostility towards their customers. Even before you walk into the toxic atmosphere of their little dirty cluttered post office, you'll be greeted by some hostile sign on the front door. Step inside and you'll hear the sarcastic voice, [disguised as pleasantness], from Dan. If you ask a question, the answer you'll receive from "Jan" or Dan will let you know how stupid you are. A sense of dread pours over me when there is something I have to go put in the mail. Unfortunately, Dan and Jan's Westside Postal Express is within walking distance of my home, and my time is so limited. So, I dreadfully get into my car and head their way, knowing that some sarcastic, underhanded passive-aggressive snarky comment will be hurled at me, or someone else in the line. Having known them and interacted with them for several decades, all I can say is that these two need some serious therapy. They should be operating a fitness club, where clients are scolded in order to push to new limits. I have been going to Westside mail for several years now. I have taken many difficult to box items and many needs special handling items to them. I have never received anything but exceptional service. They have made custom boxes for me to help avoid paying for a larger box. There has never been a situation where a package I mailed through this facility has not arrived on time and in perfect condition. After changing payment methods and going into the store to provide that it somehow did not make it from there to my account. After them running the old information for over three months declining without a call they finally call me with late fees. I explained my information change and it was not my fault they made a mistake and would be happy to provide those three months payments now but not the late fees I was threatened with closing my business mail box. I tried to reason but was simply talked over and had to hear my mailbox is just going to get shut down. Not willing to work with me, I said will I guess you will close it down then if not willing to erase these fees. After mentioning I would be forced to leave a informative review of the situation the owner hung up on me. read more

Didn't scan the package so it was lost for well over a month before turning up in my mailbox as a return to sender.

2 stars because it works as a place to drop off a package and it's convenient for me during a lunch break. Also good if you need to ship with 2 different carriers at the same time, such as USPS and FedEx. Otherwise, I wouldn't come here. The only times I come here are when my packages are prepaid, prepackaged, and pre-labeled. I don't want the employees here to have to do any of the guesswork because all the ones I have encountered are either lacking knowledge or lacking courtesy. On top of that, they rarely, if ever, stock the package size I need unless it's something simple like a flat-rate envelope. And even though I pretty much do all the work for them, they often still manage to forget to scan my packages so I can track them. It's not very reassuring to have a package in limbo until it randomly pops up in a sorting facility or finally arrives at a destination. Post offices already have the efficient thing down pat.. Small time shipping centers like this really should put more emphasis on service, since that's really the only thing they have going for them. read more

Double billed. My wife sent a package by FedEx, paid at Westside and then was billed by FedEx. I went in, left them a copy of the bill and proof she had paid them. Two weeks later, FedEx still shows the balance outstanding. I Call, speak with the "manager" and he says he will get resolved and call me back that day. Three days later and nothing. The jokers at FedEx say they don't care if we paid Westside, they are still billing us. What a racket! No wonder the economy is in the dumps. Outfits like these don't even pretend to care to do the right thing. They certainly don't care to waste my time because of their mistkes. read more

I used to use this postal store only for mailing items that I sell on Ebay and stuff. I had a P.O. Box in the little town where I live with the USPS, even when they were bad. In a little less than a year, under the new management, I decided to get a mailbox here and it has been better than expected! No more lost packages (Like the USPS used to do in my little town) and it is a hassle-free place to ship all my packages. Extremely friendly place and so far, I get really good reviews from my Ebay customers too. They do really care when they help you ship items. The best there is! read more

I had multiple packages to send for work and came to this location because it was convenient. The employee I dealt with treated me like an annoyance. I understand that I had multiple packages and that it would require around 20 minutes to process my transaction but the attitude I received was unnecessary. I had my boxes labeled and packaged properly. She was required to weigh them and scribble the price on each one. I was completely understanding that she was the only employee working and that she would need to help other customers throughout my transaction and she was still rude. I don't feel the slightest bit sorry for her as I was required to construct the boxes, pack them, tape them, and create the labels for them. I would say that she may have been having a bad day or something but about five minutes ago I overheard a coworker say " I have to ship this but don't want to go to the post office right there because there is a really b*%#@Y lady that works there" and I would put money that it was the same disgruntled woman.The owner of this place should probably take a look at his employees and make sure that they aren't being detrimental to his business, because I know I won't be bringing back the $300 that my company spends every quarter to ship items here. My office only uses the services of this business because we are not located near an official post office. The staff here is so rude it's almost worth driving across town. The woman who has worked here for at least three years isn't just having a "bad day", she's rude every single time. They have recently hired yet another rude employee. The only reason I can think of that these people are getting jobs here is that they are family members - they have no qualities any employer would want! read more
