I've never shipped anything internationally so I had no idea what I needed to do. One of the great things about living in Hopkins is we have a post office right downtown, so on a Friday morning I biked on over with the things I needed shipped back to New Zealand. I walked to the counter, I was greeted very happily. I explained my situation needing to return things to New Zealand and we joked a bit. He told me exactly what I would need to pay (including the correct envelope). He made it very pain free.

They wouldn't even open the door to answer a question I had about providing the necessary proofs. Luckily the attendant at the front was kind enough to give me a phone number to call later. Quite disappointing

They were out of the "free" boxes, and I simply asked if they had more before I filled out the label for nothing. Ya pretty much don't do that she will bite your head off. There are loooong lines of confused people with the wrong amount of postage or are missing mail or can't pay their rent or have traveled an hour to pick up a package. The clerks are usually the grumpiest people you will encounter all day. Nothing is pleasant or convenient... but not at this post office! The lines might be 4-6 deep but are speedy and not full of negative people. The clerks are always cheerful, helpful and generally positive. The parking lot has the entrance/exit aligned with the drive-up mail boxes that sends me directly to the stoplight for Central Ave. Very convenient!!! I tried multiple times over the weekend, hoping that I'd be able to get it to open, but it didn't work. On Monday, I called and asked if someone could get it open, to that, they said they'd be able to assist me, and I thought my issues were resolved. They were not. I called multiple times again on Tuesday to get the box open, no help from the mail carrier, but I was told on the phone that someone would come over personally and help open the box. I gave the person my cell phone number and my address. No one bother to came by and help. I then called again Wednesday morning. They said that the mail carrier will be able to take my package out of my box and then leave it on my front door. When I return home from work (around 3PM), there is no package on my front step, the box still does not have a key, but the key to open the locker has been removed. I called multiple times to get some help with this and they told me that they delivered the package at 11:30. Their response to this situation is to tell me because the package on my front door is missing that someone stole it. In this neighborhood, there are multiple other homes with packages on their doorsteps and none appear to be missing. I also have never had anyone steal packages before, nor have I heard anything from my neighbors. The parcel box seems to still be locked with no key in sight (assuming no other package has been put in there), I can assure you that no one is stealing my package in my community. The lack of customer service, lack of accountability, the continuous empty promises and lack of reliability with this USPS location and the leadership running this shit show needs some serious attention.
