I see some of the other reviews and to be honest i don't ever see that - I am in there at least every 2 weeks and sending things out of the country. They have always been superb. I don't know if prices are high - all prices seem high to me these days. Grocery store, gas, etc. And I have seem them taking care of people with 20 packages. Obviously it must matter what time you go and who is behind the counter but they have always been great for me over the last 2 years. read more

This store is a typical UPS store. Decent service, but nothing spectacular. They get the job done.

The Chapel Hill store is fine. Prices are somewhat high, though. If you are not in a hurry better to use U.S. Postal Service.

Mailing & packing in itself often causes tension and a spirit of selfishness. " I need for this package to be mailed immediately!" Or "How fast can you get it there? And I don't want to spend a lot of money." I have used this location for many years. The current ownership is kind, flexible, and dedicated to customer service. They are doing their best to find and train younger employees to be responsible, nice, and attentive. They have also upgraded the technology and services to meet our needs. Post Office does better job of lifting money out of my wallet. Dropped off a box for Xmas shipping, truth, it was 7 days before Xmas day and 6:00pm ,service was just OK, was not given info about insurance or that UPS doesn't work on Sat. The price of shipping a SMALL , already packed box, $64 big ones; wait let me dig out that lottery ticket to see if I won. Are you kidding? Another customer in the store was heard chuckling. Told the ups person I could ship myself for less than that. Big thanks to UPS; I had an elderly aunt angry at me because box arrived the day after Xmas. I've used this same UPS store numerous times to ship but we're getting a divorce. Customer service was just OK. read more

This place is always a disaster. Customer service is nonexistent, the people working the counter are always surly, unhelpful and slow. Can't figure out computers and just want to charge you as much as possible. I'll drive the extra 10 minutes to go to Meadowmont from now on, where the employees have been nothing but helpful. read more

I had a UPS package delivered here rather than my home because it required a signature - something I do all the time with FedEx and their locations for free. When I went to this UPS store to pick it up, ~2 hrs after delivery, they informed me that they charge $10 for this service. I told them that $10 was ridiculous--that I could do this for free with FedEx, the apathetic manager person said. "Well, we're UPS." If you need to charge a couple of bucks for this, fine. But they literally accepted a package, set it down, and picked it up again 2 hrs later. $10 is absolutely ridiculous for this barely-a-service, and all they could say in response to my incredulity was "it's our policy." All the more reason to stick with FedEx in the future. read more

This is a warning to anyone wanting to ship here. I have had three - THREE - major problems with this store. Staff is pleasant with the exception of the woman with glasses who is either the manager or owner and is also their notary. I am not going to go into too much detail on how they mismanaged my business because they have my account info. on file, but through their mistakes, I had to spend over 1.5 hours making phone calls to UPS customer service. I mean seriously - avoid this store in any way you can, even if you have to drive out of the way. These stores are franchises and this one does a terrible disservice to UPS. AVOID. read more

Horrible horrible horrible. I would give zero stars if the app would allow it. I made an online reservation/appointment for notary services. Received email confirmation last night and again this morning. Show up at my reserved time and the notary isn't there. The aloof employee told me "he isn't here on Saturday." When I mentioned my reservation, he said "you should've called." I again mentioned my confirmation emails. He replied, "doesn't matter" and walked away. The store was empty so it's not like he had to wait on anyone else. I wasted an hour of my time on this. I will never go there again. read more

Went to this MLK store for the first time b/c the shipping order system at the nearby UPS distribution facility (less than a mi. away) was acting up. This franchise charges $3.00 to use its computer to set up and print the shipping label! When I said I had never been to a UPS or FedEx store charging to set up in-store orders, the man at the counter (owner?) was extremely rude ("take it or leave it" attitude) and told me to go home to print the label! It's the first and last time my company will visit this store. (BTW, I stopped by the UPS facility on the way to a FedEX store and was able to ship my package from there b/c their system was back up running.) read more

Okay is best way to describe. Was excellent several years ago but now can't say that now. Seem a bit disorganized. Needed things packed and shipped but instead of packing then weighing and charging me, they weighed and then estimated box size and charged me. I didn't feel comfortable leaving until I could be sure that everything was wrapped and made into the box. What if someone else came in with things to be packed and shipped before mine was boxed - seems like screw-up waiting to happen?!?!? The employees are nice and seem to be trying though, which goes a long way. Glad the older gentleman is not working - he is always grumpy and rude. This is an okay store. They've managed to handle all of my business well and are conveniently located right where I do a lot of my shopping. Nothing too stellar about the service though to warrant another star, but it's passable at best. read more

Avoid this location!!!! I just left the UPS Store on 1818 MLK blvd in Chapel Hill NC. It is 12pm on Dec 26 2018. I lugged a large box all the way into the store and was informed that I couldn't ship it because they did not except large packages during the holidays. I mildly expressed surprise that they did not post info to that affect online. The woman who was not the cashier said, in a snotty tone that they didn't have to post it. And the cashier added, in a condescending tone, that really I shouldn't post large packages at their store ever. That they should always go to the hub. I, a little annoyed at this point, pointed out that there was no indication of that posted either in the physical store or online. The non-cashier said again that they don't have to post it. And, as she walked away, said under her breath that's they didn't have to listen to me complain about it either. I, very annoyed at this point, said I didn't appreciate their attitude and asked if there was a customer service number I could call to comment. The cashier informed me that the other woman with her- the one who said they didn't have to listen to me complain was the manager, so there wasn't any point in me calling in a complaint. INCOMPETENT THIEVES! AVOID this store at 1818 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Chapel Hill, NC! 5 days after my mother died, I went to this store to ship home my mother's belongings. Among them was the massage table we bathed her on for her home funeral. THEY DIDN'T SHIP IT! Worse, they neglected to charge me for the shipping, so I had no receipt, and when the owner, Maury, found this little tidbit of information out, he conveniently claimed I could not prove I was even there, so they weren't liable. So, not only did they STEAL my table that has meaning beyond what you can probably comprehend, I wasn't even able to get reimbursed for it, and it was expensive. I didn't care about the money, I want my massage table. It was the last thing my mother touched. Since they made a mistake and didn't give me a receipt, which I could not have known at the time, I have no legal recourse. Put yourself in my position...then do yourself a favor and use another company for your shipping needs! read more

AVOID. horrible customer service, the woman behind the desk was extremely rude and did not care at all about seemingly anything. charged an additional 6$ on a sheet of stamps bc of a separate retail charge, would rather drive 50 miles to watch pain dry for an hour than stop here again. read more

Don't walk but run from this store as fast as you can. UPS LOST a package of mine and they COMPLETELY washed their hands of the problem and were of no help whatsoever. They even gave me the wrong contact numbers. They didn't even bother to return my calls . They put me on hold on one of the many occasions I called them, except that they didn't actually put me on hold. The imbecile must have just left the phone on the counter because I heard him laughing with his coworkers over my distress. After I had lost all hope of ever getting my package when I needed it, I called UPS to tell them to deliver the package to my home if they actually found it. Well, they did find it but unfortunately they didn't deliver it to my home like I instructed, but returned it to this UPS store. It was then that they finally returned my calls to tell me that if I wanted my package back, I would have to pay them a returned shipping fee. I not only lost thousands of dollars because I didn't get my package when promised but lost an enormous amount of time dealing with this store and UPS to get my package back. There are many UPS stores out there. Do yourself a favor and choose another one. read more
