I went in to ship a laptop as I have done at least 5 times in the last two months. The counter clerk had a terrible attitude, and refused to allow me to enter my corporate credit card at the payment terminal as I have always done. 6:30 on Wednesday July 16 if any managers even care. ATTENTION CARRBORO: I visited The UPS Store #3651 on Saturday October 12, 2024 and was encountered with the most outrageous and shocking bad customer service by the Staff. Specifically, an employee named Shelby. As soon as I walked in and was waiting in line, I could hear her in the back complaining to a coworker on the floor(helping customers) about "why was this not taped up from the bottom?" and "why this, why that..." she sounded very obnoxious quite frankly. And highly inappropriate to discuss that issue in front of paying customers who are hoping to have their packages safely packed under the packed and shipped guaranteed guidelines. Very annoying to work with. I've been a loyal customer and former employee at this very store for about 15 years. This day I misplaced my cell phone and asked if I could quickly use their land line phone. My phone was actually locked in my car and I was trying to call my car service to come and help me out. The man that was helping me seemed confused about if that was "allowed." Shelby then says "No we don't allow that by policy. We're watched by cameras and if we did that we could lose our job because if you happen to break it we would have to fix it." Keep in mind, this is a store that offers self service copy machines and computer usage; things FAR more expensive than a 1 minute phone call on a land line phone. So she literally made zero sense. For that reason I didn't engage and I left. From my many years of experience in customer service(including 15 years at this store) I have NEVER heard that before. Especially to a frequent customer. The Carrboro community supports their local small businesses and they shouldn't be treated that way. So I'm not sure if these are actual orders given to employees from the top, but if that is the case then everyone needs training. I would implore management to try to prevent instances like this to come between your business and your loyal customers. It will be in the best interest of your business. Friendliness and kindness will take you much further in a community like this. Nevertheless, that's my last time doing service there. Hope you have a better experience! read more

I needed to get some documents printed and notarized. Typical UPS layout, 1 computer that you can use for free to access email (google, yahoo, etc) and print directly from. Or you can email the documents to them and they can print it for you. The charge is the same either or. I think I paid .10 per sheet. The notarization was quick. Bill took my Validated my ID, and helped me with the forms to ensure it was accurately filled out. Notarization is $5 per page. Everything start to finish took me 10 mins. Very nice staff working at this location. read more

BEWARE OF THIS UPS LOCATION for the following reason: I have dropped-off multiple packages at this store only to have them sit 5-10+ days before actually getting onto a truck. This has happened with both UPS and USPS and only occurs when I drop-off packages at this location. With regard to the UPS packages, I know the issue is with this UPS store because UPS Corporate Customer Service verifies the package sat at the UPS store after they investigate the issue. UPS customer service refers me back to the store because they cannot explain the large interval between "Drop-off Scan" at that UPS store and "Origin Scan" by the UPS driver on the tracking information. The store then offers no additional assistance. In the most recent instance, my package sat at the store for 11-days before it shipped out on a UPS truck. I spoke directly to the store owner who denied I had even dropped off the package even after I produced the "Drop-off Receipt" showing his store number and address with date of drop-off and tracking number. He simply chose to ignore the tracking information and my receipt and instead asked me to contact UPS customer service again because there was nothing he could do. He remained professional but he also did not seem to care at all. Maybe your experience will be different but relying on the services provided at this store has caused irreparable damage to my online selling profile. I won't ship from this store again due to the risk of inexplicable delays getting my packages out of this store and onto moving trucks. read more

I called before coming to see if a notary was available. I spoke with Tiffany who said, yes, she was a notary. When I arrived about 2 hrs later, Tiffany denied speaking with me and said her notary stamp was at home. She said I must have called another store nearby. I went to my car to check the number I had called and called it back. Twice the number rang and was then disconnected. I did some grocery shopping and called again. Tiffany picked up and I introduced myself as the person who had called earlier in the morning asking for a notary. She then told me the other person in the store might be a notary and she would check. She disconnected the phone AGAIN. I went back to the store and asked her and the other person who claimed to be the manager why she denied talking with me on the phone earlier. All they gave me were blank looks, NO APOLOGIES, JUST DENIAL. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS DESPICABLE. The manager, a heavyset blond woman refused to give me the owner's name. read more

I'm new to the area and have had a really bad experience with the USPS putting my mail and packages in other's mailboxes. I needed a solution fast. Getting a box and extra keys was easy and the service was top notch and personal. The staff is very helpful. The store is clean and well organized. Package deliveries are immediately posted and pickup and drop off is a breeze. From day one, I have been very pleased with this store and consider it to be one of my best decisions. read more

I am a fan of this UPS store. Anything that can save me from going across to the post office I can't help but be a fan. They offer both UPS and USPS services though they charge an extra fee for the USPS services but it's quite reasonable and I find them quicker and with more reasonable hours. I've also used them as a notary before and that was a quick in and out process as well. They can pack up just about anything and get it there safely. I shipped my laptop once for work and it arrived the same day I did. I'm also a fan of this location in the Carrboro plaza. Close parking so you can haul the boxes in from a reasonable distanced and well staffed. Everyone has been friendly there as well. read more

Always have had good service here. Stopped in week before Christmas. I had run out of stamps for cards and had first swung by the post office across the street. I refused to wait in a crazy long line there for a few stamps and their stamp machine was out of order on one of their busiest days! While there was a short line at this UPS store, two employees were quickly and professionally and even cheerfully moving the line along at a good pace. Such a contrast to the bad attitude I often get at the post office. The man in front of me only spoke Spanish and the woman behind the counter seamlessly responded in fluent Spanish. Great customer service. Next time, I'll stop in here first bypass the mess across the street. read more

Went in to print some save the dates, and the quality was really poor. However, it was pixelated because my file type was so small and Enoch helped me reconfigure it into a larger size and worked so patiently and diligently to make sure I got the highest quality wedding announcements. He went above and beyond and was just so genuinely helpful and spoke to me as a friend. I can't recommend them highly enough! Plus the price is unbeatable. read more

Stephanie was a huge huge help to me today. I was having issues with a package sent and corporate UPS was of no help whatsoever. They were combative and basically put all fault on me and this UPS store when in fact it was a delivery drivers error. Stepahnie, Josh and the manager of this facility all went above and beyond to get my package shipped. These are great people who care about their customers, and not about the profits. I will personally never use UPS again but I had a great experience (after the fact) at this location. read more

Very disappointed. Just moved to the Chapel Hill area and had a few different packages that should of been delivered to my address. The tracking said they were delivered and after being home all day I know they had never been delivered to my address. So assuming if I went to the store they would be able to help me, look up the driver, etc. They gave me a customer service number and brushed me off. I asked to speak with the manager and he tells the sales associate, "Did you tell her to call the customer service number"? I could hear him saying this! He never even came and spoke with me. I went into this store today (saturday 8/30/14) and a middle aged white woman who was working there made no attempt to recognize that I had entered the store. She was serving another customer so I waited for her to finish with him. While I was waiting a female US postal worker came in and then another worker with a bunch of stuff either to drop off or pick up. Bothe of them entered the store after me and stood in line waiting for her to finish with the other customer. When she finished her sale, instead of helping me she went to help the postal worker. I told her I was trying to send something over night to my child and thought she could take care of me so the postal worker could take the mail with her when the woman said very rudely "I'm not going to hold them up to help you". SHe looked at me like I had done something wrong. I was there before these other two people and i am not sure why she was so rude. If she could have said something like I'm sorry to hold you up...but they are on a schedule...or anything but instead she was rude and dismissive i could have understood but she was down right mean. I am a Registered Nurse and had just come from work. I still in my scrubs. I just left and went to another ups store in Durham by walmart and shipped my package from there. I will be sure to tell all the people I work with how rude this woman was and recommend they do not use this store. I was shocked that someone would be so rude to a paying customer. Shocking. Spread the word...stay away from this crazy rude woman. I sure am going to! read more

I visit this store often for outgoing package deliveries and I have always been completely satisfied with the service I receive here. The employees are always courteous and helpful to me. The facility is clean and organized quite well and the location of the store is very accessible. I went in to have ship a passport renewal application. I specifically wanted to be able to track the application because my passport was inside. When I got home and tried to track the envelope, I realized that the clerk had sent the application by USPS Certified Mail, meaning that I could not track the package. I also was never informed by the clerk that the application was being sent by USPS. Very frustrating. read more

I am extremely upset with this location. There is a reason I went to UPS and not USPS to send my time-sensitive government clearance packet. I wanted my packet to arrive by the due date. Instead, UPS sent it through USPS which defeated the entire purpose of me going to UPS. Easy people do work with. I ship all my cedar chest with them. They pack and ship them at the store. I always get compliments from customers on how well they are packaged. I have had a couple of damaged chest and the store owner made it right right away. Never had it been an issue of their packaging. I know that the store can't be held responsible on how its handled after it leaves their store. I recommend them to all my costumers who want to ship.
