However, she didn't mention that taxes would be added, which brought the total to around $218. I then inquired whether FedEx or Purolator might offer a better rate. She told me that Purolator doesn't deliver to that country and that FedEx is unreliable, with a price likely similar to DHL's. Despite my reservations about the questionable service, I decided to proceed with DHL. Later, out of curiosity, I visited another DHL location 11 blocks west at 2900 Broadway, where they quoted me $120 for the same shipment. I was shocked by the significant price difference. I returned to the original store to request a refund, but the representative told me their policy does not allow returns. Even though my items were still on her desk (despite her efforts to hide them), she refused to return them, citing store policy. She also claimed to have sent me a tracking number, which was not true--I received the tracking number only about 20 minutes later. I am perplexed by the large discrepancy in pricing for the same service from the same company. I contacted DHL to address this issue, and this is the response I received: "Based on the response received from our retail management team, we would like to inform you that the cost structure for our services is established through confidential agreements with our retail partners and DHL. Unfortunately, we are unable to disclose specific details regarding this arrangement. The rates may vary between the DHL website, retail partner locations, and DHL-owned service centers. Rest assured, we have shared your feedback with our retail partner and have emphasized the importance of staff training and maintaining the highest level of professionalism to prevent similar issues from occurring in the future. Your concerns have been taken into consideration, and we will ensure that Skymart adheres to the necessary regulations. We deeply regret any inconvenience or frustration caused by this recent service lapse, and we are committed to learning from this experience to enhance the quality of our service in the future. We did an initial video estimate and then the week of the move Ty came personally to see where things were at to ensure he had what was needed to be ready for moving day. They showed up on time. Their system was well executed, and they had us loaded very quickly. Igor, Manny, Daniel and Christian were very friendly, and professional, and took extra care with our fragile items. Ty was there for the loading as well, to ensure we had everything we needed. At the new place the unload went just as seamlessly and when the truck was empty they even took the time to ask if there was anything we wanted help putting together, and if we wanted them to move anything into a particular spot while they were still there. We did ask them to move a couple of the heavier items which they did happily. Payment was easy; the estimate was exact to the invoice. E-transfer payment was quick and simple. They are definitely competitive price wise, if not a bit better value than some of the larger companies and way better service. All around great team, great people, and i would definitely recommend them.

The second time was a nightmare, with them showing up with a 3.5 ton truck instead of a 5 ton truck, as was clearly communicated beforehand. Since we had to make a ferry reservation, it made everything morse stressful than necessary, with us having to deal with literally last minute solutions for left over stuff, turning over the old place to our landlady, loading remaining items in our own car, and helping the movers on top of it as some furniture had to be dissembled to fit in the truck. Although Ty brought anything they could not bring the first time, a couple of days later, there were too many damaged items due to the puzzle of trying to get everything into the small truck. Most damages were just labelled as 'can be easily replaced by going to the dollar store, or having a table top refinished locally, etc.' But Ty never followed up on it, instead mentioned that we had not bought the proper insurance (which was never offered in the first place). He gave us $500 off, but that does not make good for all the trouble we had. and all the damages, with some of them discovered after the move. The damages were: a broken high quality fan, a completely scratched dining table top, damaged artwork, two damaged standing lamps, one damaged storage unit, a broken antique pendant light, and almost all furniture with some new scratches, dents, and other minor damages, including damages from the tape that was not properly used. Having said this, the movers were friendly, and Ty is a nice person; but this was not handled as expected and with the care needed, also with never following up on him promising us the needed repairs. Even if only some small plastic parts (e.g., a wheel part, a fastening ring) are broken, it does not mean they can be easily replaced at the dollar store. If we had to repair and replace everything, it would easily exceed the $500 offered. I have moved over 20 times in my whole life, but this was by far the worst experience ever. I can only hope that they will handle your next move better.

I visited Packaging Depot last November to drop off a parcel with a prepaid shipping label. Came on…read morea weekday afternoon. I had a Fedex delivered parcel that was destined for Ontario. Prepaid label with overnight shipping ready to be dropped off. The young staff lady at the counter accepted it and I was out in 2 minutes. She was already in the middle of helping another customer filling out paperwork for his packages but helped me out as well. She immediately offered a receipt to confirm my parcel was shipped out at the time. Fortunately, my parcel was safely delivered to Fedex on time since I made it before their 3pm pick up time. The day after my Fedex overnight delivery parcel was sent, I checked the tracking status online and it was already in Ontario. As a frequent skytrain transit user, I like the location since it is conveniently located a block away from Oakridge-41st skytrain station. I will definitely come back if I ever have a Fedex package that needs to be dropped off. Really have nothing bad to say about this place. 5 stars.

I can count on Packaging Depot to have everything I need to ship whatever item I have, no matter how big, small or odd shaped. They have also been super helpful in offering options and solutions to some of my more challenging shipping projects. They have an excellent variety of different sized boxes, crates, tape, and bubble wrap. You can either package stuff yourself or they can package stuff for you. The part that I appreciate the most is the fact that they have access to a variety of shippers so they can offer me the most affordable choices for what I need. They are definitely worth the drive here.
