Very friendly folks here! Understaffed so there was a bit of a line, but doing the best with what they've got.

1 am extremely frustrated with the Boston University Pack-Store-Ship program. It is completely impossible to get in touch with anyone regarding my items. I have tried calling their hotline, leaving voicemails, and sending multiple emails, but I have received absolutely no response. It is incredibly stressful to have your personal belongings held by a company that goes completely radio silent when you need help or confirmation. Terrible customer service and a total lack of communication. Avoid this program if you want peace of mind. read more

This store's shipping and handling job resulted in multiple ripped open, crumpled, smashed, and broken boxes. I paid ~$1,250 to ship a mass of items in many boxes and most were utterly crushed. They will not give any compensation for their damages unless I can prove which item came from which box, which I can't do since I shipped a large number of items across boxes and the first thing I did when I saw their horrible condition as they arrived was take pictures, take things out, and repack the things that need to be repacked. Shipping a $35 box. Given terms and conditions to sign. I'm a lawyer so I'm quickly reading the sheet. Aggressive man, not helping me, says "IT'S JUST SAYING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS." I say "Yes, I understand. I want to read it." Man: "WELL ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW IS IT'S THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS." I say "Please let me read this." He moves towards me--does he think I'm stupid? Am I wasting his colleague's time? I say, "Sir, I am an attorney and I am going to read this before I sign it, which is the law, so back off." Woman in late 20s who had been helping me then: "I am not feeling safe with you being here in this store. You must leave now." I couldn't believe it. I tried to ... say something but she immediately got on the phone and backed 20 feet away from me so that conversation or de-escalation was totally impossible. Meanwhile, aggressive man just went back to what he was doing. I don't want to get arrested for disorderly conduct, thank you very much, so I take my package and leave. I felt abused and blindsided. This man was abusing *me.* He was overbearing and he was not permitting me to engage in the business transaction. Now I'm going to be characterized as the guy who makes this chick feel "unsafe." UPS Stores are not UPS. They are independent franchises. This one is right near Boston University so it does a lot of business. Well, that's too bad. read more

Jermaine was absolutely the most helpful UPS staff I have encountered. He talked me and Jimmy through options for mailing across the country to CA, shared personal insight on the best way to ship heavy weights, and talked us through the nerve wracking process of purchasing insurance and making the right box choice. I cannot express my gratitude enough to Stephanie and the other workers there. I had made an online print order and found out that I would need more copies after I had already picked up the documents. Unfortunately I didn't have my computer or the documents on my phone. I called to ask/beg Stephanie to print extra copies of the documents I had picked up through her system. Not only did she help me out with the extra copies on the fly, she saved me an enormous amount time and energy. In the scheme of things, she didn't have to do any of this for me. The documents I needed are quite critical and even waiting another day could have been problematic. Thank you Stephanie and staff for going above and beyond!! read more

I've had had several negative interactions in a row at this location. I now go out of my way to avoid shipping through this location. The first time the manager refused to let me ship my package as he didn't believe what I said my package contained. When I refused to cut open my sealed and labeled package he made me walk to another location where they happily shipped it without question. The manager is very rude and doesn't handle customer service in a mature or respectful manner. There's always a "we're hiring" sign on the door so clearly the quick turnover doesn't allow for proper training of competent employees. I also wouldn't want to work under such management. Most recently, my mask broke on my way in and apparently UPS doesn't keep a box of disposable masks at their location to give out for "emergencies". I stood at the door and politely asked if they had a disposable mask so I may come in. I understand the mask policy however to refuse to let someone ship due to a broken mask is quite frustrating as I wasn't actively refusing to wear a mask. It's the holidays and getting packages out on time is important to some. Lastly, manners go a long way. A simple "thank you/you're welcome" and "have a good day" goes a long way in customer service. I bought a small box and packed at the store. The staff watched me pack and did not say a single word, until I went up to her and dropped off my box. She was like "just so you know, you are not allowed to pack in the store". I apologized immediately but searched it up online right after I got out of the store, there's no rules stating it. Also, to my knowledge, I believe they are actually supposed to help the customers pack. Don't know what to say towards this lady, a solid human combination of rudeness and laziness. read more

This is a review for the notary services - I know this is a UPS store so, obviously, their primary business focus is shipping and maybe they're not up to speed on their notary responsibilities - but since they list this as a service they provide, and they were unable to fulfill a basic notary service for me (unable = refused) they deserve this one star rating. I have CA state hiring forms to complete that unfortunately require notarization. I went in with an I9 and a state oath/patent form. The employee first looked at my I9 and "needed to check it because there were problems with fake I9 forms." I don't really know what that means but as I have my passport with me and this is what he's checking and verifying, I don't worry to much about it. I also have a oath and patent form. The employee is very confused about this so he asks another employee (boss? Manager?) to review it. Fine. I even show them the instructions provided by my hiring HR department for notaries to fill this out. Basically they need to watch me read this oath, then sign that they witnessed me do so. Pretty basic, right? Well, they "don't feel comfortable" acting in this capacity, particularly because it's a witness signature that doesn't require a notary stamp. So I'm confused as I've 1. done this EXACT process of notarization of this EXACT same oath form 2 years ago and there was no problem with my notary at that time and 2. my HR department directed me to any notary to fill this out which I'm sure must mean this has been a successful operation in the past. I ask if they are different notaries who can indeed help with this form, to which they say they don't know any notary who would be able to complete this. I'm frustrated, so I google in-store the process of notarizing an oath and find the following on the National Notary Association's website: "One of the most important duties of the Notary is to administer oaths and affirmations" (source: http://www.nationalnotary.org/resources_for_notaries/how_to/administer_an_oath_or_affirmation.html) with further instructions on exactly how to do this. I show this webpage to the employee who continues to refuse to assist me. Maybe showing him his responsibilities wasn't the most tactful way of handling this but it's irritating to patronize a business for advertised services and not be able to be helped because people don't understand what they are allowed and able to do. If you can't complete the basic responsibilities of a title, you don't deserve said title and you definitely should not be advertising yourself as a provider of this service. This store's store staff and manager are extremely helpful and awesome. They hire creative people who are competent, smart and friendly. I've had a mailbox here for many many years. Almost 24 years. The new owners are not so awesome. While the staff is great, the new owners have policies that are not helpful to their box holders. Their pricing is outrageous and they won't allow for prepaying for a box for 5 years out with a discount as I've done multiple times since I've had a box here, even while they owned the store. I know this isn't a huge deal, but it makes me feel marginalized and like they really don't give a shit about me as a customer. I'm a customer willing to commit for a longtime mailbox rental and they are not willing to commit back. It's always shocking when a business owner doesn't want a ton of cash prepaid! The new owners also moved the location two stores over a couple years ago. The whole point of having a mailbox here is that your mailing address never changes!! This was a huge time consuming annoying issue. I was on the phone with banks and credit card companies for hours changing my address. I still have to notify more businesses of this change. I would not recommend using this store for renting a mailbox. The prices rise significantly every year and who knows if/when they will move again. They also now charge to use their tape to seal a package, which always used to be free, and they sometimes charge extra for a large package delivery. The store seems to be all about nickel and diming their customers. Also, just like all UPS stores/Mail Boxes ETC, their prices are super high for boxes, stamps and supplies. I recommend Uline instead. read more

Paid for Next Day Air. Was never told it wasn't guaranteed because if I was I wouldn't have paid over $100 for next day! Subsequently the package wasn't delivered next day. Manager, Chris, rude an refused a credit of some sort. Blamed corporate & claimed he wasn't UPS. what? Never took responsibility & refused to offer any credit even though they were at fault. Just tried to drop off a package to return. The woman there in glasses in the blue shirt was extremely condescending. Her customer service skills were absolute garbage. I don't know if she's also a student and has had a long day, but I was shocked to see how awful she handled the situation. She just told me the same thing 8263828 times and just was an overall garbage human to have to talk to. Unfortunately, I don't have her name. But she needs better people skills, or to take a class in psychology or sociology at BU to learn more about people. Super dismissive. read more

Price gorging at its finest. They charged me $60 for 5 boxes, and $500 per box to ship them to California (while $110 per box at USPS). Plus they charged me to tape the box after I decided I didn't want to ship the box at that location. To the owner who probably won't read this: go f**k yourself. read more

Tiny tiny UPS store. GENERAL MAIL SERVICE REVIEW (2/5): The staff here seem more relaxed, I mean in comparison to the staff that you encounter at USPS. I never really had an issue with them other than that they are so relaxed that they never provide you with sufficient information... They sort of send you away after you drop off your box. STORAGE REVIEW: (4/5) I'm not sure I have much to say other than that this UPS location is also where I store my things when I travel back home over the summer. They offer really good BU deals and have been using their services for the past 2 years. Check out their STORAGE deals. I found this service to be way more convenient than having to find a storage warehouse to store my belongings.... It's just a hassle to pack, drop off, lock,....etc etc. This service cuts out the bull. The UPS staff will call you the day before your pick up time and the following day they will come up your things and drop it off at the location you select and the time frame you choose. read more

Do not have a package shipped here. Even though the name on the store is UPS, and the name on their shirts say UPS, if an issue does happen with your shipment they will claim that it's a UPS issue, and not their issue because they are a franchisee and they are not UPS. This store claims that because I didn't pick up my 24 inch flat screen TV during a 6 day window (I was out of state, and I called to store to ask that they hold on to it for an extra 3 days, which they refused) they used the Amazon return label to send it back to Amazon. Amazon says they never received it. Amazon tracks EVERYTHING. You draw your own conclusion read more

I honestly know why this location has such bad reviews because it literally is one of the worst locations. Whoever picks up the phone will answer frantically place you on hold then hang up. Then when they DO actually answer they are so quick to step over you in the phone call. Dude sounds like he is on crack or something. I feel bad and sympathize for all the people who are basically forced to go here cause the other locations are to far for us. read more

Have been going to this store for a long time and recognize some of the staff. They have always been very patient even when I had many QR codes and books to return. Yesterday, I went there to return two books with a QR code, the same way that I've been returning Amazon books and the staff said you need a box even if Amazon tells you that you don't need a box or label. It costs money to ship and you need a box. When asked whether this was a new policy they said it's been the policy for a year( I returned books last month). I understand that occasionally they get overwhelmed with Amazon returns and the no box return was forced on them but I was there only customer that day and I only had two books. I then said there must be a miscommunication between Amazon and UPS because I was told delivery tracking and store are unrelated. Before I could continue the staff, just stops me and basically said no mistake it's been the policy for a year. I then said that i was here a month ago returning the same way and she said no way, impossible. I then said that I had returned books the same way at a different UPS store in downtown and she said then by all means go there and call Amazon about ups return policy. To prevent other the customers that just walked in from getting helped and from having them think I was the crazy one, I left with my books. What I am saying is that if the store is unhappy with Amazon's policy, take it up with them not the customer. It puts the customers in an awkward position if Amazon says I can return with only a QR code and Ups makes up an excuse to not take the books. Figure out your problems with Amazon. At the very least, tell me the truth that you are overwhelmed with unsealed packages but don't BS me with year old store policy that didn't exist a month ago. read more

This is a store with the worst customer service imaginable. The staff, including the manager, is immature, unwilling to help, rude and frankly could not care less. I came in needing to emergently Mail a prepaid package. I did not have my wallet with me as the label was prepaid. The store could not bother to help with 12" of tape citing store policy. read more

So i go into the store about a week before and i ship a package out with the "3 day select option." A few days later, i track my package online to find out that my package wont get to the destination until much later than what i had paid for. I go back to the UPS store to ask what was going on and to possibly try and get a payment reduction since i figured that it wasn't fair to charge me over 30 dollars for 3 day select when i could have paid less than 15 for standard ground. after all, the way things were looking the package was going to get there around ground shipment time anyway. When i ask them about it, the manager goes insane and starts yelling at me about how he cant guarentee anything..... well... okay i didnt expect such rudeness from the manager of the store. honestly was it that hard just to get the difference back? I mean i asked them in the nicest way possible and was met with extreme anger by store employees and i thought he was just going to cuss me out on the spot. i mean if he was appologetic and said no there was nothing he could do then fine i would have saddled the cost. however the manager was extremely bitter and aggressive thus making me pissed off. TLDR; manager at this store is incredibly unhelpful and extremely rude. he literally just yells at you and gets angry for no reason at all. seriously find another UPS store to go to or just go to FedEx/ Kinkos. read more

It's fine for dropping off returns, but don't go there to mail a package when you're paying out of pocket. I wanted to ship a pair of shoes, and the cheapest price they quoted me was over $20. I took the same box to the US Post Office and they shipped it for less than half the cost of UPS. Lessons learned: 1) Do not order from 6pm.com because they do not provide return shipping labels. 2) Do not attempt to mail things from UPS because it is overpriced. They obviously did not charge 6pm $20 to ship me the shoes in the first place--they just price gouge the individual consumers that are not big businesses. 3) Bring your own tape. They used to tape boxes for free, but not they require a "donation" to some unknown cause or for you to buy your own. 4) Don't buy their tape; it is terrible quality. Very thin, rips easily compared to 3M brand tape. read more

This UPS Store is a good place to have your printing done. The staff are all helpful, and Stephanie agreed to reprint parts of my document that needed editing after I noticed mistakes I'd made. She accommodated me by changing the type of paper for my book after I saw an alternative paper, so it has beautiful sturdy pages, and communication with her was pleasant. She was patient with me during the printing process, and answered my questions helpfully. read more

I wanted to print a PDF from my flashdrive. The man at the counter told me I could use their computer by the door for that. Bad Idea! The computer charges you by the minute. Also it didn't let me print doublesided. This simple job cost me: $2.52 computer time $4.15 for 9 pages in black and white $0.26 Tax Total $6.93 That's ridiculous. This would cost me less than $2 to print anywhere else. Employees should not recommend the computer without telling customers they will be charged by the minute. It shouldn't cost over 40 cents to print a black and white page. read more
