This is place is run by a bunch of clowns. I needed to get a form notarized, so I called THREE TIMES one day an hour apart to check if there was a notary present that day, no answer. Did the same thing the next day, still no answer. Finally decided to drive over on my very short 45 minute break during work. Get all the way there and they said, oh our guy that notarizes forms isn't here today. If they had answered the phone one of the many times I called, this all could have been avoided. I wasted valuable time driving to the store and finding parking in crowded downtown Blacksburg just to have to turn back. I am beyond enraged. Not my intention to bad-mouth or defame, I'm just telling it how it is. Surely they have their side of the story, but the facts remain. The store owners, after a very extensive follow up, admitted negligence on a time definite service. They tendered the parcel to the carrier with inaccurate and incomplete documentation. By tendering the parcel to UPS they certified that the documentation was complete, true, and correct - it was not. Of the various international shipment requirements, they only included a commercial invoice - which did not have a complete and proper description, and they classified the high dollar shipment of Personal Effects inaccurately as Gift. They were seemingly unaware of the UPS "Commodity Specific Stipulations" regarding Personal Effects. At no point during the shipment did they update the carrier, UPS, with the required correct information or any further documents. During shipment the carrier requested missing documentation and they neglected to send the required materials or correct the errors. The next-day delivery window was missed by over a week due to the delays, and the parcel was forced to be returned roughly three weeks later. The store then denied any wrongdoing and repeatedly told me they had included all the required documentation. They denied a refund and held me responsible for the additional cost of having the package returned. For more than two months I combed through UPS Terms and Conditions, and with the help of UPS and UPS Store Customer Service (whom initially sided with the store), it was finally agreed the store did not process the package correctly and would be responsible for all charges. Because I would not give up and contested the $800 charges; they stopped communications, the manager would not return nor take my calls, and the owners accused me of "harassment". I was just yelled at by an irate employee at store #500 in Blacksburg, Va. This is concerning the employee who is currently on shift today, March 25th, at 1pm. I believe her name was Juilett or Juila or something similar. I needed to return an amazon purchase with a QR code. She was unable to scan the QR code on my phone, so I offered to read it to her since that is what they usually do. She did not want to do this because she was wearing gloves and told me to brighten my screen. I let her know that my screen would not go any brighter. She then called me a liar and told me that all phones go brighter than that. I offered to show her my phone because it will not go any brighter due to a replacement screen that was put on it a few years ago. She then rudely informed me that my sarcasm is not appreciated. There was no sarcasm involved, I just wanted to return my package and go home to continue self- isolation. I responded that I do not appreciate being spoken to so tersely and that usually they just type in the QR code because the scanner does not always work. She then escalated the situation and yelled that she just told me that she is wearing gloves and does not want to type it in. At this point I contemplated walking out since we were the only two in the store and she was obviously angry. I told her I just wanted to return my package and offered to read the code. As I was reading it she started yelling again that she was unable to do this because she was wearing gloves and I need to do what she wants if I want my package to be shipped. From my perspective, the gloves were not inhibiting her ability to punch numbers on the keyboard. At this point she continues yelling about how I am too close for her and social distancing calls for at least 6 feet. Well, she can't scan the QR code from 6 feet away and I was standing about 4 feet from her. At this point I took a step back and said forget it just give me my package back. She threw my package on the counter and continued to tell me how disrespectful I am for coming in during a pandemic and how awful I am. She continued yelling until I left the store. I understand that we are all on edge during this time, however, her behavior under no circumstances is warranted. She was rude, aggressive, and condescending for no reason other than she did not want to be there. read more

My husband took a family project into the store 10 minutes before closing to be laminated - a task that takes minutes to complete. Upon entering the store the older lady with gray hair repeated the statement, "I wish everyone had to work retail" over and over to make him feel badly for coming into her shop close to closing. His receipt was stamped 2:56 which means he paid four minutes before closing. On top of that, the woman laminated the pictures too close together on four of our objects which she pointed out and unapologetically showed to him as if his late appearance in her store justified the sloppy job. When we cut the pictures the laminate came off all the pictures. (I am a teacher- laminating is not hard). Witchy attitude a shoddy job to boot. I hope that lady was having a horrible day and kindness and human compassion are not as lost on her as it appeared. read more

Do not use these guys for your Amazon returns. They will sit on it for a week for up to a week maybe more before they return it. This store shipped my vintage mid-century modern family heirloom Danish nesting tables. I bought insurance for the full value, $600 of the items and paid for UPS packing materials and packing service. The contents arrived damaged and will require a master woodworker to repair, and it is not clear whether the restoration can be to the original condition. Kevin Siegel said the claim will pay $45, because of the "anomalous circumstance" of the damage, and "that's just how it works". I wish I had read the reviews of this place before going there. They need to be looking at a lawsuit. read more

Worst experience ever! This "business" is in the middle of downtown and has NO parking whatsoever. I had to park 2 blocks away in a "no parking--violators will be prosecuted" zone. Had to lug a 28 lb package down the street in 40 degree weather with 35 mph winds! When I reached the store, I couldn't get the heavy door open while holding that 28 lb package, so I had to shout at a man passing by to open the door for me. If you're in the shipping business, you should at least have some parking spaces and/or an automatic door so customers can get in the building. It's hard to believe that a place this annoying, inconvenient, and user UN-friendly stays in business! read more

The slender dark haired gentleman is considerate and helpful but there was one kid (looked like a teenager or college student) with red hair (ginger) that was sitting slouched on the counter when I walked in. He glared at me, yes glared, while I walked down the stairs and said absolutely nothing. Horrid attitude. I was the only one in the store and I received no greeting even though the two of them were standing right there looking at me. Instantly I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable but continued with my business. How are you training your employees? This is not acceptable customer service. Get your employees off the counters and teach them how to treat customers with common decency. read more

One star because I can't give 0. UPS gave a date by which I needed to pick up a package. I showed up to pick this package up on that date, only to discover they had closed early with no notification. I showed up the next day to get my package and they informed me there was "nothing they could do because we aren't UPS". What?? It's called The UPS Store. You are affiliated with UPS and you represent them (poorly). If you're looking for mediocre "service" with no accountability or care for customers, then this is the place for you. If you're looking to ship or receive a package in a timely manner with staff who are helpful or at least pretend to care, I would suggest finding another location or shipper. So update: I was told I could get a full refund by Akv. C saying "The associates have been reminded that if the customer returns the photos with the receipt, a refund will be issued. Bring these by the store when you are able to and get refunded." So I did just that and brought them into the store this morning, but the man helping me once again told me he couldn't accept a return. I told him about the reply so he changed his mind and told me that only a manager could accept that return. So I asked to see a manager to clear everything up, but apparently managers don't work on Wednesday at this store! If I could leave zero stars I would. I received TERRIBLE customer service today. I dropped off 3 packages on a Saturday. One of the three were shipped back to me on Tuesday. I went in to the store to ask if I could reship it and told them the story of what happened. The one woman that was there yelled at me, cut me off and had an attitude when I was just asking her questions calmly about how to solve this problem. If you're a student on campus and need to get something printed, and fast, go here. I go here all the time to get stuff printed and the service is phenomenal. They do everything from flyers and posters to bound books. Plus, its right by campus. I recommend it to everyone. UPS rocks! read more

For mailing packages I have no issues. HOWEVER PASSPORT PHOTOS are a NO GO, I took my passport photo at UPS and I had to retake them at the passport agency on campus, the background looked pink, and WOULD GET SENT BACK if used for a passport. read more

If you pack your things yourself, you should be fine using this location. BUT...if you want them to package anything for you, I'd think twice. They packaged an antique clock for me, and when it arrived, several bits were broken. The packaging even appeared insufficient, and I got the impression they merely worked with the smallest box they could stuff it into, adding the padding that would fit instead of the proper amount of padding that would protect the clock. Now, you might be wondering why I didn't just file an insurance claim. I did. We'd even purchased additional insurance for this high value item. After receiving it in more pieces than shipped, I jumped through the hoops of their claims process, diligently following their requirements and taking the large number of pictures they need to substantiate the claim. I eventually gave up on seeking reimbursement. The end. No insurance reimbursement. No follow-up. No additional information seems to be available. Fail. F. read more

DO NOT HAVE THIS UPS STORE PACKAGE & SHIP ITEMS TO YOU!!! Susan the store owner packaged 150 pounds of equipment into a box rated for 70 pounds with only peanuts and a strip of bubble wrap. The majority of our units were damaged, some beyond repair. The worst part is that the owner of the store is not taking responsibility for her actions and the claims process has been messy and full of delays. We are losing thousands due to the damages and the store owner is arguing against us receiving our freight charges back. I used this store many times for mail handling and forwarding and the personnel has always been helpful. I recommend.

Do not come here if you need to mail to dpo/fpo/apo addresses. This was never an issue for me at the ups stores in DC. I asked if they were able to mail to an apo address, i.e. if they had the required forms, and they didn't know but thought they could. While going through ther process, still unsure if they even had the forms, they questioned the zip code I had. I spent some time trying to confirm it on my phone and couldn't, so I left. They recommended I go to the post office several times, which I know quite well handles apo addresses, but it was closed. In the same way you can mail letters with stamps on them from the ups store, you can USUALLY mail to apos as well. The zip code was correct as it turns out. I will not waste my time at this ups store again. They don't know their own services and you have to pay to park. They were nice, but I was very sick and regret wasting time carrying boxes in there only to actually never even get an answer as to whether or not they could mail them. This is the only ups store that makes you prefer the post office. read more

Paid extra money for delivery confirmation, signature required, insurance. Never received email that was part of the package. Was told by Owner of the store, Susan Murphy, that I should have gotten off my lazy ass and tracked it instead. I was just wondering why I never received the confirmation email. Was told i had a bad attitude and she hung up on me. I will not be going back again, EVER. Horrible way to run a business. I now know why I stopped going to this store several years ago to buy shipping popcorn. The service is incredibly poor, and the co-owner woman thinks she is doing you a service by having you wait 15 minutes to buy a bag of shipping popcorn. True, they only have two registers. True, students were shipping books. However, one register was tied up by an untrained college kid trying to ship an international package and had to wait for someone to show her what to do. A short, stubby, gray-haired woman came over and had to explain in detail what she needed to do. The customer did not have her declaration forms ready, so they had her lean against the register and fill them out. There. When I called the store, the woman co-owner tried to tell me these forms need to be filled out in the store in person. She needs to tell that to someone who has not been shipping international on eBay for ten years, because I know it is not true. The forms could have been picked up and filled out earlier. I asked why she didn't have the woman move over to a side table and fill them out, and then bring them back without getting back in line. Instead, she preferred tying up that register for ten minutes, when she had a line almost to the door. The woman was VERY offended at my suggestion. "WE DON'T DO THAT!", she snapped. We wait on people as they come in. Not quite. A couple of college kids managed to break in line, because "they had to be somewhere." read more

Absolutely horrible experience with UPS... I was not informed that my package would be shipped through UPS, but I received a sign on my door stating they needed my signature and were unable to complete my delivery. That's fine, from my prior experience I figured UPS would try to deliver my package 3 times before leaving it at the access point so I made sure I waited around all day the next day for my package but it never came. Not only did they only attempt to deliver my package once, they split my order into two packages causing further confusion and inconvenience, and failed to check the correct box for "final delivery attempt". Friday, almost a week after my Amazon Prime package was supposed to arrive, I head into the UPS office to pick it up to find out, it was in fact not there and was at 118 S Main St. (to be fair this was on the slip) but the confusion continued as to whether that was the post office or one of the three bookstores nearby. The post office was closed already, so I had to wait until the following Monday to find out that the post office doesn't even accept packages and my package is in fact at the bookstore. The delivery truck driver was the most helpful person in this entire situation, all the front desk employees were rude, unattentive, and unwilling to help others in the store with their issues. I'd recommend management to inform your employees of your processes better and teach them some manners, then perhaps your ratings will go up. read more
