He spent a good bit of time trying to get my laptop to boot up and eventually removed the hard drive and battery to take them to his home workshop so he could retrieve my info and put it on my thumb drive. He rang me in the evening to say that sadly the hard drive was corrupt and couldn't be accessed. The battery had begun to bow upward, so it was a goner too. In his opinion the 7 year old machine wasn't worth fixing because at that age things would just keep going wrong. Kinda like a used car. In the end he didn't charge me a penny because he wasn't able to fix my machine! How often does that happen?!! Then this weekend, the screen started to appear "jerky" and the iPad was pretty much useless. We called a couple places open on Sunday that wanted over $200 for a new screen. I thought we should get a new iPad, rather than spend $200 to replace another screen on an outdated model. But we took it by the shop on Tuesday when they were open during the week. The tech had it working like new within 5 minutes, at no charge, and we didn't even have the receipt from the first repair. (I'm sure they could have looked it up if they thought we were dishonest). Anyway, really appreciate the immediate attention when I stopped by and quick fix.

Today my computer appeared to have a virus so I brought it back. They explained it was not a virus, but some other means of locking my computer. The fix took about a minute and they gave instructions on how to handle a situation like this if it happened again. There was no charge. I'm very pleased with their service. Chris did a wonderful job of getting the multitude of Smart devices, laptops, TVs, etc. at home running optimally. She said she didn't have enough time to look at it yet. I took it to cyberline on electric road and they fixed it in 4 hours. I would not recommend roanoke computers to my worst enemy.
