A lot of my co workers were raving about this restaurant so I finally decided to go check out what the hype was about. AND LET ME TELL YOU IT WAS SOOOO WORTH IT!! I'm not a fan of seafood so I really need to be in the mood for it, and even I LOVED it! While you're waiting for your food, they bring you some free popcorn . We ended up ordering the catfish appetizer with Cajun fries, and a combo bag. Shrimp with crab with potatoes in the medium twisted sauce. It's a bit pricier but you get a decent amount of food! I have noticed a lot of these fast casual seafood restaurants opening all over the region. I haven't been to one in over a year and while driving through Peninsula Town Center I couldn't help but notice all the grand opening balloons. Sure, I'll check them out. They're located next to Monsoon, a popular restaurant in PTC... a little off the beaten path of all the shops. There's construction happening nearby so with all the new things coming up, I imagine here will be a lot of natural foot traffic. The door said they open at 12pm but I approached the door quarter to the hour and the wait staff let me inside. I wasn't in the mood for a $20+ lunch and the entire bib and potential mess while all dressed up so I opted for an appetizer item, 10 fried oysters. Appetizers come with a side so I chose the Cajun fries. During my wait for food, I was offered to snack on popcorn with butter poured over it. (I like this. Popcorn isn't a filling food for me so it made the wait time go by quickly without the feeling of getting full so fast. My food was out within 10 minutes and while I sort of regret eating all those fried food, it was all delicious. I hear it's just like the place Shaking Crab in Virginia Beach pretty much the same concept. This is actually my 2nd time here the first was before the grand opening. The only thing they were missing was the alcohol. The food was delicious. I got the mix of all the seasoning and hot. I got the combination with the shrimp( heads off) which really isn't a hard choice for me lol and snow crab legs. Also, mussels don't judge me. My bf got the crab legs two pounds with no spice, we both get corn but he doesn't like it with the seasoning on it. Our second visit we were once again taken care of by Dejah. It was my first visit to the restaurant. I was greeted and seated with my party expeditiously. Once seated I flagged one of the waitresses down. The waitress didn't know the wine list by heart and couldn't pronounce them. I ordered the pinot Grigio Wine and it was great though. Pinot Grigio.... also, in a good note, The wine glass was clean with no water spots. Change of pace from a lot of places. Lol just saying. The fried seafood was very greasy to me and needs to be cooked and rest a little more before serving so it has a chance to drain the grease off the seafood. Didn't like these too much. Now, The broiled/non fried wings, crawfish and Shrimp was off the chain though. I love the spice and the shrimp delivered. For dessert, I Don't really recommend the banana pudding. It's doesn't taste like mama's. So.... in order to see if something else hit the spot, I ordered a piece of pecan pie to taste to see if it tasted any better. It did. Still not grandmas but it's better than the banana pie by far. Overall though the owner and staff was very friendly and helpful especially to the lady ordering wine. lol. A fantastic seafood joint in Hampton's town center! I attended a Yelp elite event here and was treated to some of the restaurant's best delicacies. The interior of the place is decorated with cool, nautical themed items and lots of ocean and sailing themed works of art. There is a good bit of seating, including some large tables for groups and there is also a nice sized bar to sit at. The food was amazing and I enjoyed each item we sampled. The crawfish were super fresh and the shrimp were deliciously seasoned. The hushpuppies were crispy and tasted like there was fresh herbs mixed into the batter. Furthermore, the hot wings we had were some of the best ones I have ever had! They were baked to perfection and the sauce has just the right amount of heat. For dessert we were treated to one of my favorite southern desserts, banana pudding! It was creamy and very sweet, with vanilla wafers mixed in throughout the dish. All of the servers here were excellent and constantly brought by wet naps, sauces, ect. The owner came by to say hello and I could tell he has a lot of pride in this place. The Hubs experienced The Twisted Crab a couple months ago and wanted me to see what he was so excited about. Upon arrival, we had a very short wait, for a Saturday night. We started with crab cakes, with a side of onion rings. The crab cakes were good, but not necessarily something I will order on a future visit. The onion rings were a lovely addition. We ended up ordering Combo #B, which consisted of crab legs and shrimp. We chose The Twisted Sauce in Medium, with potatoes and corn and OMG it was absolutely delicious!! After all that deliciousness, we still had Twisted Sauce left over in our bag that we didn't want to go to waste, so we ordered some hush puppies to sop up the wonderful juices. Had a shrimp and crawfish that were mushy and hard to peel and the taste of those weren't that great. My friend ordered the twisted combo #2. The creole/garlic butter seasoning tasted salty and didn't really have a distinct flavor. Medium spice level barely had a kick to it. It seemed like they cooked the seafood separately from the sauce and didn't give the seafood enough time to soak the juices up. Maybe this was also due to the sauce being watery? It also didn't seem like they gave that much food even though I had ordered the 1 lb shrimp + 1 lb crawfish combo with a lobster tail added on as a side compared to other places I've been to such as Shaking Crab in VB or Mr. Boil in Newport News. Service was ok although it was difficult to find our waitress after she served us our entrees in order to ask for an extra glove or even the check. read more

I took off a star because it honestly didn't seem as clean inside as it could be and the decor made me feel like we were eating in a nightclub rather than a seafood restaurant. My sister and I came in for the Millennium Tour, but it was cancelled because of #TheRona. We came here for her birthday dinner. The wait was only 5 minutes and the service was incredible! Jasmine was our server and she was on IT! Never had to ask for anything, attentive and very informative. She recommended the Twisted sauce and it was delicious. A mixture of all the sauces, it really went well with the seafood. We both got the T1 but added an extra half pound of crab legs. She told us it would take 10-15 minutes but because the kitchen was jumping, she came back to let us know it would be an additional 10 minutes. I ordered from here considering shaking crab in VA Beach was closed due to COVID 19. My experience was ok, again twisted crab was a crab leg fix for me. The ladies taking orders over the phone were rude, 2lbs of snow crab legs only came with 4 clusters for almost 50$, Twisted crab made it seem like snow crab legs aren't in season! Cocktails to-go were not good, they were too sweet, frozen drinks were watery. Overall the food & sauces are good. Wouldn't think to spend all that money for such little food. read more

My husband's crawfish boil was succulent and firm and my onion rings crisp and delicious. Unfortunately, midway through disaster strikes. My husband's house Chardonnay is upended by my two year old. All over mommy's perfect onion rings (the catfish made it through the disaster)! Awwww!!! Upended, just like Mommy's dreams, and operations! I always get the Twisted Special T3 adding in boiled eggs and it can do you no wrong. I get take out here at least once a month and every time, their broil is never too salty or too bland. They've always made my food perfectly! I went in to sit down and eat once with friends and it is definitely a go to place to kick it at and unwind. Along with my usual order, my friends and I took shots and drank cocktails and their bartender did their job for sure. We were all feeling good and having a good time. But it seems every time I order through a delivery service, I pay for a drink that I never get, and tonight they didn't include any of the rice we ordered (2 servings). Although it's great food when they can get the order right, we've had missing food and drink items too many times for the price point they charge, so this will be the last order from Twisted Crab.
