We order the shrimp basket w/ onion rings and crab cake basket w/ fries. Both were delicious. I would definitely order them again. The shrimp were huge and the coating was more of a batter. The crab cakes had minimal filler. I loved them!!! The service was just ok. Nothing to brag about. I would definitely go back to try something new. How did I forget to write a review for this place? Um yum yum yum yum!! Take my money people. I really enjoyed eating at this place. This place has put a craving on my taste buds. I tend to get tired of the normal foods. I go out to eat OFTEN, and I just couldn't find anything to satisfy my taste buds...this place was exactly what I was looking for! The Shrimp and corn was drenched in cajun butter, as well as the red potatoes. The fries were seasoned perfectly. Hushpuppies were mouth watering...the wings were yummy! I did have some of the banana pudding. It was good, but don't expect oh my gosh kind of banana pudding. It was good enough to put the cherry on top of my delicious meal. I was in the mood for King Crab legs and saw they were on the menu here, so I stopped by. I was greeted by a young hostess who asked if I was there for a pickup. I told her I was dining in. She looked disappointed, sighed, and rolled her neck and eyes as if this was a great inconvenience. I was seated at a booth within sight of the TV. The place looked clean, and they were playing music, which I didn't mind. My waitress arrived promptly and took my order. Unlike the hostess, she was pleasant. The crab arrived within a reasonable time, along with corn on the cob, a potato, and my drink. The food was piping hot and delicious. My only complaint was the hostess. Had lunch here today. Food was good and service was fair. My complaint is about the condition of the high chairs. Because my great grandson was in a car seat we used the high chair that can be turned upside down to accommodate the car seat. We took him out of the high chair because it was disgusting filthy and had wood chipping. All of the furniture has chipping leaving customers subject to splinters or worse. I recommend getting the medium spicy flavor to give your meal just the right amount of kick! I had the soft shell crab as an appetizer that came with an order of hush puppies (not the best). All serving utensils etc are plastic except the crab crackers. This does seem wasteful and I wish they would revisit this. Everyone gets styrofoam cups with a lid and straw for drinks. I dined at this restaurant on a Monday evening with a group of 30. The restaurant wasn't super busy at all and neither was area where the restaurant is located, because parking wasn't an issue at all. I read some of the reviews before dining here and noticed the restaurant provides complimentary popcorn before your meal. Well we didn't receive any popcorn. I asked the waitress for a tray... it never showed. Well I guess I'll just sit and wait until the food arrives. After sitting for about 10 minutes the food starts to arrive. Fries, hushpuppies, calamari, crawfish, shrimp, potatoes, fried chicken and corn. Dessert... banana pudding and pecan pie. This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I was over the moon to try the food based on the reviews... well there is no opinion like the opinion of your own... I wasn't pleased with this visit. Of all the food I tried (listed above) I didn't care for anything. The shrimp if I had to choose one item, but even the corn was under cooked and based on the reaction of those in my party, the calamari was overcooked. The fried chicken (drummettes) were still piping hot and dripping with grease. I'll think twice about giving this place another try, but it will not be any time soon. But on the bright side, our waitress for most of the night, Cherese, super cute young lady and attentive for the most part. All the request I made she granted without hesitation. Another waitress, Kiya was nearby and assisted when needed as well. So the waitstaff although could use improvement, overall, they were suffice. Overall, the spice/Cajun finish of the food... lacked flavor tremendously. Everything tasted the same as far as seasoning... just hot, spice, but not spicy. This was a bit disheartening. Would I recommend this restaurant... I'd say go at your own risk. Be your own judge. The restaurant is located within walking distance from several shops and other eateries and minutes from the interstate. A great location... this restaurant has potential to be great in the city. Let me start off by saying if you're a seafood lover than this place is for you, I posted pictures of the menu if you're curious as to what options to chose from. Also while strolling through the menu you can see that certain choices are not available due to Covid-19,the ones that are crossed out. I was told to wait 5 minutes and my party would be seated. 3 other parties of 2 and 3 people came and got seated before me. Once I said something, I was seated immediately. My server Megan was great!!! The sweet tea tasted like it had hints of honey which I loved but it was so sweet could barely drink it. I ordered the same thing I usually do, T3 Cajun mild. I really love going to do this Twisted Crab, they are always nice, clean, and the food is amazing. Today I was kinda disappointed, I came in and the lady seemed a little off but we still decided to still tip her. I came back to get my food a couple of minutes later, and I was waiting about 7 minutes until she came from the back to the front. I would recommend a bell or something to let the people know when we are here. When she came back she seemed like she didn't want to be here, especially when I asked her for sauce, and gloves. I opened my food, and usually it's in a bag, but I didn't mind even though I love the extra sauce. When I bit into my food it really just tasted like a regular chicken with no type of flavor. I would like to have some flavor, and actually taste the spiciness, and honey on my chicken. The only thing that saved it today was the ranch, and hot sauce. While I was eating I saw one of my chicken had a feather on it, and I think they should start checking the chicken to make sure this type of stuff doesn't happen again. I will still come back but I hope next time the actual chicken has flavor because this is the only chicken I usually get, and I hope the customer service is good as well. One week after eating here and I am still thinking about and talking about how good this seafood is. I love crab but have never had a seafood/crab boil. We were not too hungry when we went here so we split a boil including crab legs, blue crab, and shrimp in the twisted sauce with a side of fries. This was more than enough food for two people if you aren't starving. Prepare to get messy! Do not hesitate to wear that bib and plastic gloves. If you have any question about what sauce/seasoning to get, the twisted sauce is to die for. Seriously. It is a combination of all of the sauces and is all the salty goodness you could ever want! I was mopping it up off the bottom of the bag at the end of the meal and licking it off of my plastic gloved hands. It's that good. The crab legs were honestly some of the best I have ever had. Our waitress was so sweet, a lot of fun, and very responsive. My only complaint was that they have mostly plasticware as utensils and no crab cracker tools, making it a little more work to eat. This place was really delicious. It reminded me of another establishment in a Virginia Beach but the decor in here was much nicer and cleaner. The music was really good, too! Best of all: THE AC WORKS in here! No sweating for no reason - whoo hoo! I liked the options for a smaller or perhaps "for one" portion. Pretty much half of the regular sized portions (ex. 1 crab leg cluster with half pound of shrimp). I would have given them the full five stars BUT the Asian in me wanted rice and they don't serve rice so that sucked. Other than that, the flavor was really good and the service was spot on as well. The atmosphere was super nice, someone had a birthday & the entire restaurant wanted to join in on the new & improved birthday song. Their signature drinks were very refreshing. This is another new spot that I knew was coming to the PTC. I have been so concerned about restaurants that pop up in PTC because they come and go in just a couple of years. Hopefully that won't be the case with The Twisted Crab. When I first walked in the first thing that I noticed is that the spot was designed well. The decor didn't look shabby at all. I was in a hurry so I just bellied up to the bar for a beer and ordered some fried shrimp to go. I noticed on the menu that this restaurant tells you how many shrimp you are going to get with your order for the price you pay. If I remember correctly, I got 8 shrimp with my order. Not bad for lunch, but I wish I had more. This place didn't have any special sauces outside of cocktail and tartar. The batter on the shrimp was ok. I was looking for a little more flavor. I don't think the onion rings are home made. They were basic and felt like frozen food. Not a bad spot. I'll be sure to drop through on another day to try some different items. read more

Solid 4.5 rounding down. I'm so glad to have this spot on this side of a water and less than 10 minutes away from me! My party and I visited this location in the middle of the week for dinner so it wasn't too busy when we arrived (around 6PM). We were (three of us) seated swiftly on one of the tables since all the booths were already taken up. We were promptly served the popcorn and were given time to look over the menu. The items were typical of seafood boil spots and everything was very affordable which is always a plus with seafood! My husband and I decided to split the shrimp and crawfish combo (shout out to allergy meds, you the real one) with corn, added order of potatoes, mild, with their twisted sauce. Our friend got an order of headless shrimp with potatoes in mild with their lemon pepper sauce. One thing I can say was that our food came EXTREMELY fast. Within ten minutes of ordering our food was right in front of us along with the discard bucket, gloves, bibs, and paper plates! We wasted no time and dug right in. I recommend the twisted sauce all the way. Our friend enjoyed it much better than just lemon pepper alone and said that it did have more flavor and ooooomph than what she had. Our shrimps and crawfish were cooked so so so well and everything was so delicious! The reason for one less star was that I wish their service was much better. Although things came out to our table quickly, we weren't checked in on much for drink refills. The first time we did get our drinks it was filled with so much ice we couldn't even put the straws in. It's not often I give 5 stars to any establishment, a restaurant at that. Because it limits my ability to give other establishment 5 stars when they are better. But The Twisted Crab just hit the 5 star level on this visit. Wife and I went on a last minute spurt while out shopping and were hungry. Heard about this place, but knew we had to try. So we went on a Monday, knowing this place must get busy, I thought this would be the best day to go. When we got there, they still had a nice crowed, that spoke volumes on what we could expect. To them it was slow, I would hate to be there on the weekends and holidays, it must be busy! We were lead to a both table by the window, hostess covered the table with a paper table cloth and wrote our servers name on it. "Seleena" was here name and she was as friendly as beautiful. I knew we were about to get messy with some serious seafood and good service! Seleena took our drink order. They had Coke and Pepsi products I think and bar items. We both had a water and beer (Michelob Ultra and Corona). Looked over the menu and I knew what I wanted because the menu was similar to a similar restaurant in Virginia Beach called Shaken' Crab, its said that Tasty Crab is its little sister. Anyway, Seleena bought out our drinks, we passed on the appetizers and went straight to the entry. I had the combo snow crab legs and shrimp that came with corn and potatoes and in addition some sausage with the combo sauce. It was steamed in a bag with the sauce over it. My wife had something similar minus the snow crab legs. Seleena bought our food out in a matter of minutes, prior to, she brought us a bucket, bibs with a crab on it and get this, "PLACTIC GLOVES"! I was getting excited now! I put on my "messy gear" and prepared for the excitement of food - I was not let down. Prepared to order, hot and steamy, flavored with proper season and in massive amounts. We chowed down like it was our last meal. Sauce going everywhere, it got on my glasses, face and places I dare not to mention in this review (TV-MA). Tasty and fun to eat! We actually had a good time eating and enjoying each others company! So I've never been to this chain and was expecting a little more aesthetic wise but it's simple and cool. There's a bunch of booths against the window so we picked one of those to sit in. I had a crab leg bag with potatoes added. I got the twisted seasoning which included every seasoning. Next time I will likely settle on one as my taste buds were everywhere. It was good though. Messy, they give you a little bib to put on. I do wish I would have gotten another cluster or some meatier crab legs. The person I went with got lemon pepper wings and fries. The very first clue that I was not going to enjoy this place were the paper cups, plates, and plastic forks. I appreciate the need for quick cleanup and all that but in this day and age, we are too advanced to completely disregard the environmental consequences. To me it just spoke of laziness. I typically don't make a point of commenting on the beverages but the tea at this place was so horrific I feel it needs mentioning. Not like just ok tea or kinda bad tea, but legit the absolute WORST unsweetened tea I have ever had in my entire life. Bleh. On to the food, we had a variety of items so I got a decent feel for the food here. I don't eat a lot of fried food so there wasn't a ton that was my preference. (Let's clear this up by saying, I was at an event with limited offerings. Not sure what the actual menu looks like as far as fried vs unfried.) So for fried items there were fried shrimp, calamari, fried oysters, and French fries. Out of those, only the calamari was worth a mention. I expected it to be tough and ill cooked but I was surprised. The calamari was pretty good! It wasn't chewy at all and tasted pretty good. The hush puppies were decent as well. The fried shrimp was bland as all get out and the oysters were gross. Non-fried items are more up my alley. I had the shrimp, potatoes, and chicken wings. Not sure what the shrimp would be called on the menu but they were in a Cajun butter sauce I think. They were pretty delicious. I ate more of those than anything else. I also had a chicken wing that wasn't breaded. I think it was just a regular hot wing but that was pretty good too. The potatoes weren't bad but I mean they're potatoes. Pretty hard to screw up.
