My bf is Turkish, so I had to scope this place out! There's a good selection of traditional Turkish pastries and the desserts are beautiful. The cafe is huge with plenty of space for hanging out, and the staff is super nice. Very generous and willing to answer questions. They go out of their way to make sure we're getting the best version of their food as possible, like offering to make things fresh or warm them up. I hadn't even thought to ask. I brought back the bf for a second time and he was so impressed he brought back simit (Turkish bagel) and acma (like a bagel shaped croissant) for his family. They all loved it! New favorite place to get Turkish breads outside of Turkey. It's also a good place for fresh gozleme. Other places we've been to don't do it quite right, like maybe not flaky pastry, not feta, etc. This one is on point.

    Donut cake. Yummmm

I can't believe this place doesn't exist on Yelp yet. My friends and I came here for a quick coffee + tea and desserts after our dinner and this place surely delivered. Seeing that they offer a huge selection of sweets, I couldn't help myself from picking out a cake to go along with my drink. It's great that there's a variety of beverage types for everyone, from different types of tea and coffee to juices and smoothies. I opted for the hot ginger + lemon tea, and it went well with the donut cake that I ended up selecting. Some of my friends ordered turkish tea and turkish coffee, and these were served in cutesy little cups that were insta-worthy. As for the donut cake, I'm super happy that I got it as it completely hits the sweet spot in my tastebuds. I was a bit worried that the cake would be too sweet as its name suggested, but it's more like a huge chocolate ecclaire with berries inside the cream filling. In other words, it's oh-so-damn-good. Aside from their delish selection of sweets and beverages, what I also love about Turkish Brew is the ambience. Not only does this place offer ample comfy seatings on the main level, its lower level area is a lounge with couches and tables for different group sizes to hang out in. And what's more? They also have board games for us to entertain ourselves with. My crew and I ended up playing several rounds of Uno while we were savoring our sweets. Needless to say, we all had a lovely time. Lastly but most importantly, service here is great. While we were oogling over the cakes in the glass display, the nice gentleman behind the counter came out to offer us a sample of their pistachio cookie. I love that he's also very courteous in offering us help when he saw us struggling with our choice of dessert. The other woman there was also friendly and helpful. I'd recommend this place for anyone who's either looking for a place to get work done or to hang out with others in a beautiful setting.

Great place to sit down and have a coffee/snack. There's plenty of table space for studying or doing homework. There's WiFi is also pretty good, compared to other places. A lot of sweets too !!!

Lucky for me…read moreLove Park had the Foolish Waffles Truck because I had one of the best meals I've had in a while. There were five others waiting for their orders, and I gazed at the menu. I've always heard of chicken and waffles, but have never tried it. This was my choice. I chose wisely. The boneless fried chicken breast was light and delicate and not greasy. The slaw was not too dry or runny with sauce. The candied jalapeño peppers should have been more plentiful on top, but I liked the slices I got. The waffle, although not crunchy or crispy, and actually a little mushed, had outstanding flavor and surprisingly complemented the chicken and slaw. I was blown away how good it was and a decent sized portion. They have others like an Italian, and a Vietnamese version of waffles with stuff. Additionally, that have the sweet waffles with fruit toppings. This was a definite 5-star lunch today! $12 for the fried chicken and waffles. I posted a picture of it and the menu with the prices of the day.

They put plenty of chicken on the waffle and the waffle and chili honey were very tasty. I do wish I added syrup, because the honey had evaporated into the waffle by the time I walked back to eat. I did deduct a star because we waited over twenty minutes for our food to cook. This is problematic when on a lunch break from work. I wish there was a way to call in the order beforehand and pick it up. They do take credit cards, with a $0.50 fee. I would def try it again, but would be prepared for the long wait.

A couple months ago, we had brunch here and asked my omelet to be well done, but the middle was slightly runny. I just had my husband eat that portion. Wouldn't be an issue normally except I was pregnant. We also asked to redeem our points but nothing was applied. Not a big deal since we can use it in the future. I considered this a one off. Today we had lunch here and specifically requested no onion/garlic due to pregnancy aversions. When my omelet came out, there was a piece of onion on top (I'm frustrated at myself for not taking a photo but I was really hungry and just wanted edible food at that point). When I asked the server (who also said it looked like an onion), she went back to ask the chef who confirmed no onion in my dish. I flipped the piece over to double check and it was clearly an onion. I mentioned it to the server again and she took my plate back to the kitchen to ask the chef. When she came back, she said "the chef said it's a white bell pepper, whatever that means." The onion piece was taken off I'm assuming by the back. I decided to trust what I was told and took a bite. I didn't see any more onion but the onion/garlic taste was so strong I immediately had to spit it out. They then offered remake the omelet which was a lot better but still had a few parts with the lingering onion/garlic taste. I asked for lemon slices so I could cleanse my palate and just kept using the lemon after spitting out the bites that had the repulsive taste. The experience was not enjoyable. To make matters even better (I'm being sarcastic), there was a piece of bell pepper covered in a heavily seasoned sauce in my potatoes (I'm assuming from one of their Mexican based dishes) which then contaminated some of the potatoes with that sauce. I couldn't eat the contaminated potatoes because of the onion/garlic taste of the sauce. The cherry on top was when I was presented with the check, I was told there was a surcharge for changing the cheese that I was not told of when ordering. This was supposed to be a birthday brunch too. All in all, I left with a bad taste in my mouth (both literally and figuratively) and will not be coming back to this location for a while. My assumption is the kitchen uses the same knives/cutting boards/cookware between dishes therefore the cross contamination even in the second omelet. It makes sense since they are busy especially on the weekends. However, it would have been nice if they took my requests seriously.

Much better and safer places in walking distance with friendlier service and better food! - when asked about vegan options, the restaurant said they didn't know and asked me to look at the options and they'd verify. It's weird to not have any dietary-friendly options ready, and to not be willing to look into it - asked for a side of PB and only after calling them, they said they had none left (?) and did not offer a replacement - coffee tasted bitter and the beans were over roasted. I also ordered a decaf since I can't have caffeine, and needed to take allergy medication because I realized halfway through that it had caffeine. Oats were cooked (which was great), but was missing the promised toppings from the menu. An iced latte + oats = $33. I also chatted with the manager after this and she said raisins are seasonal (not true lol) so they could remove toppings without telling us, and that it is standard to not receive assistance about what items fit dietary restrictions and to just look at a menu (not true).

It was super quiet during dinner time. Only a handful of people were getting a drink at the bar area. I don't think Patchwork is the type of restaurant where non-hotel guests would eat at. I ordered the steak frites and my friend ordered the roast chicken. Our orders took a long time to come (over half hour) which is wild given it was prime dinner time and there were no other dinner guests. When it came out, the dishes were large, but they tasted mediocre. My steak was overcooked and had tough tendon through half of it. My friend's chicken wasn't too dry, but neither of us liked the sauce which was a bit sour. We wouldn't eat here if it wasn't for the credit. Since we had extra credits remaining after the dinner, we spent the remainder on kind bars from their grab and go section. When we checked out, the folio showed an incorrect charge from the kind bars purchase. We even spoke with the Patchwork staff who pulled up our receipts and stuff. The receipts showed the correct amount, but the resulting charge to my folio was double of what we actually purchased. After spending half an hour trying to figure this out, the on-duty manager said that she'll tell the General Manager to process the refund for us, but I never received it. I got in contact with the GM but still pending updates. It's only a $13 problem, but I'm more concerned why their POS would double charge me on my folio versus what the signed purchase receipt says.

I typically go for a savory breakfast, but the stuffed brioche French toast was speaking to me. I can never turn down banana! The rest of our table ordered avocado toast (x2) and fried eggs with bacon. Everyone was really happy with their choices and an added bonus was that our food came out quickly. Luckily, we found street parking right next to the restaurant, which was a nice surprise. When we arrived, the wait for a table of three was about 45 minutes. That's somewhat expected for a popular brunch spot on a weekend. Once seated, the service was prompt. Our waiter stopped by quickly with waters and took good care of us throughout the meal. I ordered the House Angus Burger with sweet potato fries. It was solid, flavorful, and definitely filling. My friend got the Bella Vista Omelet with home fries, and we both agreed that while the food was good, it felt like standard brunch fare rather than anything particularly memorable. Based on the long wait and the hype surrounding Sabrina's, I think we were expecting the food to really stand out. In my opinion, the dishes we tried were comparable to what you'd find at a quality chain brunch spot like First Watch. That's not necessarily a bad thing, the food was satisfying, but it didn't quite justify the lengthy wait. That said, the menu has plenty of more unique and creative options that we didn't try. I'd be open to coming back and ordering one of those specialty dishes next time. Overall, I left satisfied with the meal and service.

And honestly, the restaurant itself is SO cute. Aesthetically, I adore it. It has this old European pub / rustic countryside feeling, especially with the dim lighting. There's a bar in the front and seating toward the back, and they really committed to the whole theme. Mason jars, wood details, the menu attached to a wooden board, and dog-themed decorations everywhere. It's very thoughtfully decorated and has that cozy rainy-day feeling where you just want to sit around and chat. The staff were also polite and checked on us pretty frequently. They kept our water glasses filled, which I appreciated. Food-wise, though, this is where things fell apart for me. We shared the mussels and charcuterie board, and I ordered the seafood cavatelli for myself. The mussels were easily the best thing we had. They came with a choice of red or white, which I'm assuming refers to the sauce or wine preparation, although I wasn't totally sure. Either way, the mussels themselves were really good and the broth was flavorful. The bread was perfect for soaking up all that juice. Honestly, 10/10 for the mussels. The charcuterie board was less impressive. It felt pretty sparse for the price, with the usual salami and ham but no prosciutto. Some of the other items also felt pretty basic for what I expected to be a more upscale board. There was even an egg on it, which just wasn't really my cup of tea. Nothing was necessarily bad, it just didn't feel worth the price. Then came my seafood cavatelli, and unfortunately... DAMN, it was greasy. The sauce was much more oily than creamy, and after a couple bites I already knew I wasn't going to finish it. I didn't want to leave a giant plate of food untouched at the table and look rude, so I took it home and gave it to someone else. For $31, I really didn't think it was worth it. The shrimp and scallops tasted like they came straight from the frozen section, and the tomatoes had that oily, jarred quality to them. Everything just seemed to be sitting in oil. The cavatelli itself was slightly overcooked, although I'm more forgiving of that because the shape can have a little variation in texture. But the grease was just too much. So overall, I think this is one of those places where I really want to love it because the atmosphere is fantastic, but the food just didn't justify the prices for me. The mussels were genuinely good, but that's about where my excitement stopped. I could definitely see myself coming back to sit at the bar, have a drink, and chat with friends because the space is really lovely. But if you're coming specifically for the food, I'd temper your expectations. Beautiful restaurant, lovely atmosphere, nice staff. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting or the price for me.
