It's seriously delicious! Anytime I have went during lunch or dinner Sissay is always there with a smile on her face. The edamame is always fresh & good. The crab wontons are great for sharing. The tropical pad Thai with chicken is my favorite. The flavor is always delicious with a Thai beer or a Dr. Pepper. If you like spice go higher then a 2, but if you like a little flavor & some warmth the 2 is a perfect level. It's not as small inside as it seems on the outside. We placed a takeout order and the staff were so friendly. We ordered corn cakes, cashew chicken, and the chicken pad Thai. You could even pick how spicy you wanted your dishes. They catered well to dairy and gluten allergies. The food was prepared quickly and we loved it. The portions were so generous. They're the first place we've ordered from that printed label stickers for each container and that was super helpful and nice. I look at the menu, my thoughts get blurry (the pressure is on now on for real) and the descriptions of the meals are enticing. The meals and the delightful friendly service at The Tropical have always been exceptional. The atmosphere is both professional and relaxing. It is a restaurant where you could have a business lunch or relaxing dinner with your wife. The staff is very friendly, polite and helpful. It is just a nice, cozy, relaxing place. We have never been disappointed. The food is outstandingly fresh and flavorful. My wife is a fan of Tofu. So, her choice was the Stir Fried Vegetables with Tofu. She says their preparation of Tofu is some of the best she has had (not soggy and fried perfectly). I had the Kaprao Fried Rice with chicken. It is fried rice with red and green bell peppers, onions, fresh basil (basil, that's why I ordered it) and their "Special Kaprao Sauce" whatever that is? It was a very good meal. This restaurant was totally unknown to us and we are frequent dine out customers. A neighbor recently mentioned that it was one of her favorite Thai restaurants in Tulsa. It has been around for years but I have never seen it advertised anywhere. You won't just drive by it. It is just East off South Memorial behind another business. You won't see it until you are turning into the parking lot. Great menu, very clean, nice atmosphere, and much larger than it appears. Nice bar at the entrance then at least one large dining room. Tastefully decorated interior, generous parking lot. We split an appetizer and a single Thai dish and both were very fresh and nicely seasoned. I seriously could live off thai food, so finding new Thai Restaurants and comparing is something I love to do. I ordered the Pad Se Ew. I ordered it with a number 2 spice. The beef was cooked perfect as well as the vegetables, but it was dry! It also was not a number 2 in spice! Maybe a 4 or 5, but NOT a 2. This made it very hard to eat. The chicken fried rice was very good, but many onions had the skin still on, so not edible. Carry out containers are quality, but that is about all I can say. I may try them again, maybe something different next time. However, I pray they can understand the spice number next time. Trying to eat a number 5 with acid reflux makes for a very uncomfortable evening lol! read more

I went back & forth with a few selections: Pad Cha, Tropical Fried Rice & Tropical Pad Thai. I went with the Tropical Pad Thai & it was full of flavor. I've always been a big fan of rice noodles (which I tend to get confused with glass noodles), adding the sweet pad thai sauce along with the peanuts, eggs & green onions makes it delicious. I chose chicken as my protein. They have this chili sauce that's good as well. Adding it to the pad thai, you could only imagine all of the flavors your tastebuds are dealing with. It might seem expensive just looking at the menu but relative to the amount of food you get I think it's absolutely worth it. It's a little extra but I always get the salmon cause the way they cook it is flavorful and never dry. Perfect flavor and healthy too! I was the last to arrive today with my friends so I ordered quickly and didn't get to peruse the entire menu but what I had was perfect. It was stir fried vegetables and your choice of a protein so I had the chicken. It also came with rice but I told them to hold the rice since I am currently doing the Whole 30 book where I am not eating grains, sugars, cheese, drinking alcohol, etc for 30 days. They were so accomodating-left out the green peppers for us since we are not green pepper fans. Three of us had stir fried veggies and chicken and one friend had the lettuce wraps. They do have drinks there-my friends had wine but I had the tea-12 more days to go until I can have wine! Anyway, the atmosphere was nice and the service was top notch. The people that own this restaurant also own Lanna Thai (another one of my favorites). I guess this would be considered thai food too. Very fresh and healthy. "Damn. This place is legit." Words I actually thought while I was eating at The Tropical. I had seen ads in Tulsa World proclaiming it to be the "Best New Restaurant in 2011" (or something to that effect). I always brushed it off because I thought it was your usual "Asian" (aka white-washed) yuppie food. No. I came here for Restaurant Week because the menu sounded good. It was. I got: - Curry puffs with sweet and sour cucumber salad: Both were delicious. Curry puffs were flaky and not greasy at all. - Trout Pad Ped: Fried trout with red curry sauce. I got medium spice, but it was still pretty spicy. The sweet and sour cucumber salad from the appetizer was a perfect partner to it (hint hint, The Tropical). - Deep fried ice cream: What! Delicious. Crunchy breading with a perfect scoop of ice cream in the middle (how do they do that?!) Everything was prettily plated with a handmade flower made out of a carrot. Service was also good. Even though we were sitting by ourselves out in the bar rather than in the dining room, we were never forgotten. There's also patio seating outside (only 2 tables though) and you can see the garden that they pick the herbs from! Definitely recommend. read more

The servers are so nice, the atmosphere is so classy, the food is so fresh, delicious, and satisfying, the portions are huge so you either leave stuffed or you have some for later, either way, you know you're getting what a pay for: a huge, high quality meal! They let my parents have their wedding here last year. It was a small, intimate service over dinner with a few friends and family in the main dining area. It was lovely. They're still offering takeout orders during COVID-19 lockdown, and they have the BEST to go containers! No awful styrofoam containers from them, oh no. Only the best from the Tropical! It's reusable plastic, like Tupperware! Makes it worth ordering from them just for the containers! They're seriously cool. I think they grow some of their own vegetables out back. I love that they offer so many of their meals to be customized into vegan versions. Very cool, very progressive! And they ask you on a scale of 1-10 how spicy you want it, so if you're a wimp like me you can tell them 1! They have the most delicious appetizers of any restaurant in town. I don't know what I like more - the lettuce wraps or the corn cakes! But the peanut sauce that comes with the corn cakes is to die for! It is a pleasant looking restaurant from the outside. I especially like the two beautiful Japanese maple trees standing "short" outside the entrance (see my picture). By the way, Japanese maple won't grow too tall. When the weather changes to from hot/cold to warm, the color of the maple leaves turns burgundy red. Just gorgeous! I ordered a Mee Lad Na with beef. If you're not familiar with what it is. Basically, it is fried rice noodles in thick sauce. The beef was well-seasoned with a distinct taste of black pepper. The sauce was thick and tasty. I liked the fried rice vermicelli, which was crunchy and fluffy at the same time. It tasted delicious to mix with the sauce. I had this dish before in other restaurants. The sauce was not as thick as this one. This looked like gravy, but in other places, the sauce was much thinner. The atmosphere was good. You'll feel uplifted and in high spirits (literally) when you walk in because you get the full view of the bar. I also liked the decor - the mahogany furniture, simple wall paintings, and nice flooring. And the waitress was courteous and attentive. Absolutely delicious. Service was great. Our waitress is very knowledgeable about the menu and answered all our questions. Kept our water refilled and the drinks coming. For appetizer, we ordered Som-Tum (papaya salad). It was delicious and it came with wings. I like mines spicy and the person i was with don't. The waitress brought out a side of spice and pepper so i can add more spice if needed. For the entree, we got the Red Curry and Panang. It was delicious. Some of the best Thai food in Tulsa. I always have difficulty deciding what I want to hear. There's so many things on their menu that I have enjoyed in the past.

Tonight my FH and I went to visit. It was our first time trying this and we were hesitant due to the fact we hadn't heard any reviews about it other than what was online. I must say that it was amazing, however don't go here if you are in a hurry. My fiancé and I had carved out a couple of hours since we hadn't seen each other except for coming and going. First dish up was the Calamari, it was cut bigger than I was used too. It came with two different sauces that I wasn't used to. The peanut oil was sweet with a small kick and the red hot was packed an amazing punch of heat at the end. Second, was the chicken wings which you gave to order off the kids menu. The rice went to waste but the wings were great! We used the red hot sauce from the calamari and it kicked them up with a punch that left your taste buds dancing. Our last meal course was the The Tropical- pad Thai with chicken as our protein. We left the nuts off and used two stars for heat. After realizing it comes with cilantro. We pulled it to the side also. It was packed with enough heat and the flavors just melts in your mouth. Overall, I would say come visit this place but don't be in a hurry. read more
