I HIGHLY recommend taking your loved family member to a different veterinary practice. I am extremely disappointed by the care my dog received at Murray Hill Veterinary Associates. In my experience, my dog was misdiagnosed by Dr. P and mistreated by Dr. C while suffering from multiple serious and life-threatening health conditions that required immediate and coordinated medical attention. Management staff, Nate and Jessica along with Dr. H and Dr. B failed to provide these services due to me advocating for my family member. Dr. H issued a prescription that contained improper dosing information. As a responsible and concerned pet owner, I advocated for my dog and requested a corrected prescription. At that point, office managers Jessica and Nathan became involved. What should have been a straightforward correction escalated unnecessarily. Their approach, in my experience, was dismissive and rude rather than solution-oriented. Instead of de-escalating the situation and ensuring my dog received prompt and appropriate care, the handling of my concerns created further confusion, delays, and stress. The breakdown in communication and the manner in which my concerns were handled significantly worsened the situation. From my perspective, the lack of professionalism and compassion from management created a cascading effect that ultimately impacted the veterinarians involved, including Dr. H and Dr. B. What could have been resolved quickly became, in my view, a much larger and avoidable disaster due to poor communication and failure to prioritize patient care. I also experienced instances where crucial messages left with Jessica and Nate that I requested to be passed along to the veterinarians were, to my knowledge, not communicated. When a pet has life-threatening medical conditions, any delay or miscommunication can have serious consequences. No pet owner advocating for accurate dosing, proper treatment, and timely care should be met with hostility or dismissal. Advocacy should never result in escalation or obstruction. There was multiple obstruction caused by management staff, Jessica, and Nate. Additionally, I formally requested a complete copy of my dog's medical records in August and am still waiting to be notified that they are ready for pickup. In my opinion, the handling of this situation reflects broader concerns involving management -- including Jessica and Nathan -- as well as Dr. H, Dr. B, and ALL other veterinary partners associated with the practice. I have serious concerns regarding duty of care, continuity of treatment, and the way I was treated after raising legitimate medical concerns Because certain matters are currently being pursued through appropriate channels, I am limited in the additional details I can publicly share at this time. However, I strongly encourage pet owners to carefully consider their options and ensure they feel respected, heard, and supported when seeking care for their animals. Pets are family. They deserve competent, coordinated, and compassionate care -- and their owners deserve professionalism when advocating for them.

While there was only one situation where we saw Dr Lynch where we were trying to assess a vomiting issue ($500 all day stay, with tests and no resolution) and later Dr Clark prescribed simple regular Pepcid dosing that seemed to nearly completely solve the issue, our experience has been overall great. I have seen other reviews that speak about how practical they are - not looking to push for expensive treatments when there's a simpler answer (Dr Clark seems very adept at the simple solution, once with a knee issue that we solved with anti-inflamatory meds and glucosamine, and later with the vomiting situation) and I totally agree with those reviews. Ultimately it was Dr Werner who helped us put our beloved girl down and they handled it so well. We got an appointment same day, late in the day when there were no other visits. Dr Werner did a final exam to assure us this was the right time (and also noted to us how hard it was in that she was behaving like a puppy while she was a mess otherwise). We were devastated and they were so compassionate even with after care (complimentary paw print, ashes returned promptly, follow-up sympathy card with grief recourses etc.). I never really came here all that often on my own, and the hospital itself has been completely…read morereconfigured and renovated since I made my last visit some years ago, but it left a very positive impression. We always had animals when I was growing up, primarily cats because my mother was allergic to dog dander. I had nothing against cats, but...being a boy...I really wanted a dog. Give my sister her due-- she did the due diligence and learned that the Keeshond breed, because of its plush fur, would be less likely to cause an allergic reaction. While still living in Wayne, we got a Keeshond named Kiku. My sister was right; my mother wasn't allergic. It basically became, almost by default, my dog. I walked it before school, after school, and in the evening. It had an unpredictable disposition and scared a lot of people, but I loved that dog. When it had to be put down, my father was the one who actually brought the dog here to have it done. I sometimes accompanied Dad if the animal needed shots or needed to be "fixed," but not for this. I didn't come along this time; I wasn't up to it emotionally. My father missed Kiku (as did I), and acquired another Keeshond named Cookie, a female. I don't know if the different temperament was due to the different sex, but Cookie was a gentle sweetheart. Again, she was basically my dog. I had to walk her in the morning, in the afternoon, and at night. One night, in my late teens, I came in very inebriated, and basically collapsed on the floor downstairs before I could take Cookie out on her nightly walk. When I awakened groggily a few hours later, Cookie sat there not far from me, looking at me reproachfully, her "business" still undone. I rectified that by belatedly taking her outside and offered up what apologies I could. Being a good-natured lass, she seemed to forgive me. When Cookie had to be put down, it was still my father who did it. I still couldn't bring myself to participate in the process. Unfair to Dad? Yeah. But it was one of my more pronounced weak points. I had trouble dealing with the death of a loved one, animal or human. When I got my own place, my sister "gifted" me with a feral cat named Bella. I didn't really want the cat, but I didn't say no. I figured she'd be company. She destroyed my furniture, raked my arms with her claws when I tried to be friendly, sometimes threw up on my carpet. But, like 2 uncongenial inmates sharing the same cell, a "bond" inevitably forms in time, and so it did with us. As she got older, and became sick, I brought her to Basking Ridge Animal Hospital and an operation was performed (I can't remember at this point what her exact ailment was). It bought her more time, and...maybe because of the "trauma" of the operation...she was more affectionate after that, coming to sit on my leg when I came home from work at night, resting her paws on my kneecap. Not too long after that, she abruptly stopped eating and drinking. I bought several cans of cat food, opened them all, and spread them around her, desperately hoping to tempt her out of whatever was ailing her. She was oblivious to my efforts. I knew her end was near, and I hoped she could die "peacefully" in what had become her home, but I knew that was unrealistic. Was she in pain? Was she suffering? I had no way of knowing (she was silent, not even offering up a plaintive meow), but I couldn't deal with the thought of her dying in silent, protracted agony. With a heavy heart, I put her into her "cat carrier" and brought her to the hospital. The doctor examined her, and said, "I think it's time. You've done all you can for her." Reluctantly I petted her goodbye and left (I really do hope she didn't feel I was abandoning her). Like the kid whose father attended to the "dirty business" of putting a suffering, aged animal out of their misery, I couldn't bear to be there for the "final act." Dad wasn't around anymore, though. I had steeled myself to come this far, but I couldn't stay in the room for the finish. Maybe I was a coward, or maybe I just felt things too deeply (I've been called by someone who has known me for decades "a gentle soul.") Whatever it was, I hope Bella understood, and forgave, as much as any animal can understand and forgive. I went back into the main office, paid the bill, and left. On the way to my car, I'm not embarrassed to say that I cried like a baby. Not long after that, the hospital sent me a "sympathy" card for my loss. It was a thoughtful gesture, and I appreciated it. I recognize that death is an inevitable part of life, but I've never had another animal since. But my memories of Basking Ridge Animal Hospital are...as much as they can be when dealing with sickness and death...positive ones, and I'd recommend this place to anyone. In my experience with them, they impressed me as caring, dedicated professionals with compassionate hearts.

Dr. Hollo and all wonderful staff have been nothing but kind, knowledgeable and accommodating. Obi is an amazing puppy but has had a run of bad luck, thankfully every time we walk in Obi is met by friendly faces, excited to see his goofy self. The staff not only make Obi feel comfortable but always put me at ease as well. Obi primarily sees Dr. Hollo but has also been seen by Dr. Rotella and Dr. Blachek, I would recommend any one of these vets for your loved one. I can't thank Dr. Hollo and everyone at Basking Ridge Animal hospital enough for taking such amazing care of my pup. I don't know what I would have done without their guidance, care and support during my puppy's rough patches and I'm so happy to know I have them there for the future.

Everyone is super caring and they always go the extra mile to check in on us and to make sure that our dog is taken care of. You can tell that all of the doctors and staff here really care about the animals under their care. Even in the most difficult circumstances, you can rely on them. When our dog was diagnosed with diabetes, they helped us every step of the way with being comfortable and how to administer the insulin and how to understand how to care for a diabetic dog.

Performed an enema to help him. She was not in when we picked him up, but left detailed instructions with another vet who made sure we had no questions before we took him home. All of the doctors advice is given gently, telling us what he would do but not judging what we may do. But we do listen to him because his love for animals is so evident it makes me so relieved that my puppy's health is in good hands. When my puppy was sick and my husband was at work, they loaned me a crate to drive her over in and let is keep it until her check up appointment. They snuggle my pup the way I do and being able to trust my vet loves animals and even my pup as much as I do is a god send.
