Nice spot very clean very good service. Okay the food. Had a steak sandwich with a salad. The piece of meet was 4 ounces cooked medium rare which is what ordered and a side salad with very little dressing. Still hungry I ordered the nachos large size for $29! The waitress presented the plate. Very little cheese and one small cup of sour cream and salsa. So disappointing. Their cost was probably $2. Never order that dish it's a total ripoff. read more

Went for a drive on Sunday and ended up here, first time, my wife ordered the Tommyfield Ceaser. Quite I joyed everything but the Chipotle Mango on the rim. I ordered a Sea Change Beer their waffle chips and the Dynamite Shrimp Tempera. My wife was surprised at the size of the roll she thought it would be smaller (8 pieces), I was disappointed. You can clearly see the cucumber is larger than the tempura shrimp! Tasty sauce, but other than that a very bland appetizer, though, yes, it is not a sushi restaurant. Though put your "Tommyfield twist" on this. Chips were crispy, but that powder was SALTY, took those home for the kids. I would give this place another chance, other dishes I saw looked pretty good. Highly recommend their Wild mushrooms pizza and poutine! The flavor was on point and service was excellent.

We had to wait 1 hr for Brokin yolk so we decided to head to Tommyfield instead. The ham benny was very good but the potatoes were overcooked. The brisket hadh was cold. This pub in Seton in south East Calgary is home to the Cesar which comes with a burger on top. It is a $16 Cesar but it is a meal and it is amazing! I went here for family day with my family and I got a goat cheese omelet and we got a wedge salad! It was delicious and quiet and in the summer they have a big rooftop patio! read more

Not sure what's happening here, but it's not meeting expectation tonight. It's wine Thursday and the place is almost empty! The crab was amazing but you still can't a decent American Chardonnay. Thursday evening. 4 of us. They go all 4 meals wrong, the 2 steak sandwiches were backwards and mediocre steak quality with no seasoning. Forgot the requested gravy with fish Tacos, and loaded up jalapeño on a sandwich when requested none. No utensils served with our food so we had to wait. Drink service was slow. As a health care professional I believe all service should be given with professionalism and kindness. Myself and my fellow colleagues from SHC came at 11:53 for a work lunch. We were received by the manager (Danny).We asked to sit up on the patio were she curtly told us she would not provide service to our group. She rolled her eyes at our group and made the entire group feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. We tried to negotiate and be diplomatic ( which as customers was not our responsibility....she is the manager). We asked if we could sit at the bar and than move to the patio when it opened in....7min. She again glared at the entire group and curtly stated " no, you can sit in the foyer, until the patio opens". We said we would sit in the dinning room she turned on her heel not saying a word to the group and took us to a table and roughly dropped only one menu down for our entire group and than promptly walked away with out checking on the needs of the group ( more menus ect) every one at the table discussed their discomfort and agreed to leave. Due to the lack or kindness and professionalism we will never return for any work lunches or personal dine in's as this was the worst dinner experience for many of the individuals in the group. read more

Food is ok but the service here is absolutely horrid. Its not that the servers are nice its that they must have some weird rule not to come to your table for the first 30 minutes of your visit. When i went to Spain i learnt they don't really provide service... if you want something you go up and get it but on the other side you don't tip... Maybe that's how Tommyfield is trying to be and if so please just let us know? It most other bars in Canada tips are common. Also another tip.... i drink as fast as they come so if you set rules where your server isn't allowed to come to the table within 15 minutes of her last visit you lose out on a lot of beer sales! Extra Charges. 2nd Time Last Friday my wife and I decided to go to tommy's because they have an excellent patio and the food is pretty good. After a couple beers / Wife had wine and nacho's, we paid the bill and like always I give a great tip if service and food is good. Paid my bill and afterward happen to notice there was a extra pint of beer on the bill that we didn't order. Because this has happened to me before at Tommy's, I brought it to the servers attention. All she could say wasa i'm sorry and it was a finger mistake. if this would have been the first time I would have excepted the appolige and went on my way. but because it was the second time, it makes me think that the servers are feeding thier pockets. Went for snow crab night last Thursday. It was decent but it would be nice if they offered some sides like steamed corn and baby potatoes, or peel and eat shrimp. They should consider some basic additions to a standard snow crab meal. Been here before and had pretty good food and service but today I ordered the Chipotle Mango rice bowl for $18. Well I can tell you I have had way better portions of appetizers than this meal. It was a thin layer of rice, two broccoli stems, 3 little red pepper pieces and one very flat chicken breast. The taste was ok but it seemed dry. Was in for the first time this evening and can guarantee it will be the last time. An easy way to check me out is to see that I did not leave a tip when in fact I usually tip 25% plus. You have about 10 seats at the bar and 3 bartenders pouring drinks. Was overly impressed with the tender who has long white hair because she made sure I had what I wanted and was totally taking care of the patrons sitting at the bar including myself. Then came the real prize and as I noticed he is the only male on the floor. You really should consider getting rid of him, putting him in a learning program or continue losing more patrons. I ordered a 3rd 2515 from him and believe he forgot the order in 3 seconds beacuse it took him 10 minutes to bring me another drink and that drink was because another one of the bartenders checked on my order. So if this is the way you run your business then I wish you good luck in the future. The responsibilites of the bartenders is to pour drinks for everyone in the bar/restaurant area. And if someone cannot take care of that function then get someone who can. read more

Guys, I am really disappointed. Normally I enjoy going over to have a pint at Tommyfield's, but tonight was really off -- it probably was because for the first time, Jason and I decided to sit upstairs. The patio was busy which is why it probably took quite a few minutes for the waitress to acknowledge us. She brought us our beers, but then didn't take our food order. We had to wait for her to come back. During my wait I noticed there was a dead bee on the light fixture above my head and a few other bugs that lost their little lives too soon which also wasn't awesome and my first thought was to wonder what the kitchen looked like. It's not like the fixture was 8 feet above my head, I used my hand to turn it to show Jason the poor deceased bee. The food came from the food runner. Who failed to mention the dish was hot, but don't worry, my arm let me know when I reached across it to get my fork out of the condiment caddy. That sucks -- I am hoping this doesn't scar. We let the waitress know, but she shrugged it off with a "sorry, we bake these dishes you know..." Actually, I didn't -- the food runner didn't tell me. Regardless, burns happen and heal, I used my beer and then my ice water to ice before finally asking the waitress to bring me an ice pack. And dinner was pretty good for pub fare. We settled up and I went to use the washroom. Clearly there was a mark on me as the stall I chose didn't having a working hand dryer and was missing the ever important knob to open the lock. After a minute of claustrophobic panic, I MacGyvered my way out. My husband let the manager know (explicitly stating he didn't want anything, but wanted her to be aware and asked what happened to Tommyfield's), only to be replied with a shrug and a verbal agreement that she had no idea what was happening upstairs. Wing night is awesome on the upstairs patio. However, the rest of the menu sounds great on paper but is poorly executed, no flavour and for a place that claims to be British pub... Not like any British pub I've ever been to. Also, they need a better drink menu. Who still only has Strongbow as their cider? It's 2016, widen your horizons. Almost everyone I've talked to that lives in Auburn Bay, Mahogany etc. Would rather go to 130th or High Street to eat dinner than go there. I have never wanted a restaurant/pub to be so good. Ever. What a disappointment. After 4 visits, I can say that I have not had a good meal in this establishment. The reason this is not a one star review is because the wings were decent (and let's be honest - wings are pretty important in a pub), and the beer has always been cold. Simple things....like making sure the cheese is melted on nachos, and the fish and chips aren't cold. Don't think I'm asking for too much here. I'll watch Yelp for awhile, and hope that the owners and managers of this place finally start concentrating on the quality of their food. Very poor experience at this bar on NYE...Myself, my husband and 4 of our friends came to have an early dinner with our babies. The food was great, the service was slow and inattentive but the attitude we got from one of your bartenders was particularly disappointing. I wasn't sure if there was a change table or not so I walked up to the bar and asked if there was one in the restaurant. The bartender scoffed at me, rolled his eyes and said "why would we have one of those?" in a condescending tone. I don't expect any establishment to cater to us and our friends with young babies. However, I do expect people to be kind and considerate when I ask if there is a place to change my daughters diaper. One of the servers (who was not ours) came over and apologized and helped us put some stools together so I could discretely change her. The service was great - really engaging server. She would stop and chat and offer her suggestions. Really sweet girl. The food was ok. I had the chicken curry (it was a bit too salty for my liking), but I ate it! Not the worst thing I've had on my plate, that's for sure! My cousin had the veggie panini and loved it. A little tip - wine is half priced on Thursdays and you can even get it by the glass at half price. We had a good Malbec for $3.15 a glass! Or split a bottle and its $13 a bottle. I one of the regular customers in Tommy Field pub, happened to be I got there for chicken wings night with my kids at 7:30 pm and they refused to serve us even doh the miners are aloud to be there till 8 pm . I wish there was a 2.5 star rating honestly. I expected more from this place based on the menu I saw online or maybe I set my expectations too high to start with. We went for my husbands birthday with a couple friends. I mentioned to the server it was his birthday and could they put a candle in his dessert, not much interest was shone by the server. Overall the table arrangement is poor, they do seat yourself so all the 2 person parties take up the large tables and then large parties are left with undesirable tables that are also way to close together. The menu has a lot of "rotating" items - like half the menu and half the beer menu... You would think oh it keeps it interesting but actually it's just annoying because it's like pulling teeth to get info from the server. Brings me to my next point - the service was terrible, she wasn't attentive and we were never even asked if we wanted a second drink or a water refill. 10% max tip service. Food was however tasty, had the curry and the red velvet cake, which is why I am giving them "2.5" stars. 2.0 goes to the kitchen, the 0.5 is for the server and the venue setup to share. read more

Less than a year ago I had written a review expressing my concerns with Tommy's shortly after it did a 180. The service was unmatched most servers knew us as we frequented so often. The food was always good and served within reasonable time. New management was brought on late March / early April and we are consistently disappointed. We've seen a turnover in servers and changes to the menu. It our tradition Sunday morning to come for mimosas Caesars wings and fried pickles. BUT they will no longer sell fried pickles with 'breakfast' although they will cook one fried pickles for their signature caesar. We have given it several changes since the changes but are coming less and less because it continues to disappoint. Shame on the new management made changes to an already working model. read more
