Full transparency, my friends love this place, as such we'll continue to return and I'll hope my opinion changes. To start, The Park is a beautiful, huge establishment. It wasn't that busy, but the host appeared to be both serving and seating, as such it took about 15 minutes to be seated in the restaurant side where only 2 other families were eating. From there it took our waitress another 10 to see us. It shouldn't take that long when not busy. From there, our table of 6 ordered appetizers and mains. Our waitress struggled to get our order amendments and wasn't entirely friendly. I have to say though, she knew the GF options well. The food, while fairly good, came out incorrect for 2/6 mains. Mine was missing the chicken entirely, while another had the wrong side dish. We all ate what we got though and were fairly happy. I liked that I could share appetizers with everyone for once and really impressed at how much could be made gluten free. Most of my friends have their established favorites, so maybe as we continue to go I'll find one I really like and that's done well too. read more

This restaurant is a short 5 minute walk from our house and we have enjoyed our experiences here. The food is good and the staff (for the most part) are friendly and efficient. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice and relaxed and it seems to be a popular spot for locals as we have seen familiar faces when we have visited. Well been here a few times each time the food has gotten more pricey and the size and taste smaller and worst. We were sat by the window around the edge this made it hard to hear the server. So no clue as to her name or hear anything she said about the special. The noise level was at the point I could hardly hear my wife across from me. They have removed the Covid barriers between the tables as such the noise level has risen ten fold. As we have family that likes to eat here we will be back for that but any other time it will be pass the park and find better food at better prices. read more

We came to the restaurant to give it another go after not been here for a year or so. My wife order the butter chicken but instead I having the rice she requested vegetables. My son ordered the Chicken burger with fries and I ordered the prime rib special! My wife's order came, with rice and 4 pieces of chicken! Not much point having a waitress if she is not going to take notice of what the customer is requesting. my son couldn't finish his burger as it was so dry he left half of it on the plate. My team came here for Christmas lunch and it was fairly busy on a Thursday. The pricing seemed pretty standard and on par with Milestones or Joey's. Atmosphere was similar as well. I ordered the Fresno burger which came with goats cheese, balsamic cream, tzatziki, bruschetta and greens, and I added sauteed mushrooms. The patty was homemade but to be honest, I found it a bit tough. I'm typically one who prefers a higher meat to bread ratio, but this was possibly too much meat for me. Overall the burger was pretty heavy and rich, despite the freshness of the bruschetta. I would suggest a little less goats cheese and a less tough and slightly thinner patty. I loved the brioche bun! I had this with a French onion soup coz apparently I just can't say no to them! It was a heavier French onion with lots of bread and cheese and less broth, but it was tasty. I do prefer a lighter broth and more of it, personally. As always though, this soup is the bestower of bad breath so beware! Service was very good. We go there for half price wine on Wednesday. We'd go to other spots, but our server Wendy is the best. She makes our experience so enjoyable - so nice to go to a place and have a regular server who knows you, not very common in today's economy. We share the baked brie and the fish and chips. Was here on family day for an early dinner. We got a booth at the back of the restaurant. I ordered a steak sandwich, my wife a capri salad. My two boys ate a pizza and wings. The food took quite a while to come out, about 25 min. My steak sandwich was small for the almost $20 price tag. No complaints about the pizza or wings. My wife's salad was okay, but didn't come with the balsamic vinegar it was supposed to. I wasn't really impressed with the food here. If you're coming here for a lunch during the week, make a reservation! Rookie move on my part. The actual space is huge when you look at both the bar and restaurant side. Tons of room, but also tons of local businesses in the area that pick this as their lunch spot. So resos = good idea. We needed a table for four, and were sat at the bar while we had our 20 min wait. Great beer and wine selection, and I was pretty pleased that they had guinness and strongbow on tap. Crown floats all day! When we finally got sat we were given one menu for the four of us. We asked for three more, and the server forgot about both our drinks and the menus for about 15 minutes. She came back with the drinks after literally saying, "Oh, Shit." as she walked by haha, and when she returned we again asked for menus. She forgot again and 10 minutes later asked if we were ready to order. Nope. Still don't have menus, miss... We asked for food recommendations and her response was "I don't really know..I've only worked here for 2 months, so I'm not sure what's good." Umm..2 months? Okay.. We ended up ordering the baked brie and the spring rolls for our appetizer. The spring rolls were RIDICULOUS. I could eat those every day. The brie was super small and underwhelming. My sister in law and I had the quesadillas, which were honestly just weird...They had tortilla chips baked into the quesadillas, so had this weird soggy corn flavour, and were served with a sweet bbq sauce rather than salsa and sour cream. My brother had ordered the mushroom pizza which was also underwhelming. Super doughy, not very crispy. And mom had the fish and chips were actually really good. Atmosphere wise? We chose a table along the windows in clear view of the bar and waited....................(20 min). The kicker was a couple that came in well after us was served. Left, still unacknowledged. I mean I am not "pretty," but I am a decent human being. Anway, we walked over to Park. Entered Park, where we were greeted and invited to sit anywhere. The hostess followed us with menus and then our server took our drink order and was back before we even opened the menus. To be fair, there was very few customers but it was also1:30 pm. I ordered the Sumo Burger with fries and Best Half ordered Butter Chicken. Took a bit for the food to arrive, which gave us time for conversation without mouths full. When the food did arrive it was fresh and hot. The Sumo was tasty, but the patty seemed a little dried out. The Butter Chicken was very nice (tasted good too)! Nothing worse than cheeky Butter Chicken! I would come back. It is a nice spot for conversation and a meal! I think this establishment is possibly quiet on weekends as it is in the heart of Quarry Park which houses all kinds of large office business, so weekdays are busy. We used to frequent a less-than-good chain restaurant nearby because they were kid friendly and we have a 3-year-old. Now that we've found The Park, that other place won't be seeing us again. They give out crayons and a kid's activity sheet/menu, and try to seat families with small children in the same area (away from "normal" people), which is great. But, unlike certain other places, the food at The Park is actually good and not crazy expensive. Kind of the typical menu of burgers, pizza, sandwiches, pasta, etc but well-made and tasty. The decor is nice and the servers are friendly and attentive. This restaurant opened in place of another restaurant that recently closed. I have to wonder if it is the same restaurant under a different name. The decor didn't change much and the service and food sure as heck didn't improve. The first thing you notice is the incredibly long wait for anything. We sat down at noon and we didn't receive our food until about 1pm. We were here on our lunch break. Since Quarry Park, is basically nothing but office buildings, you would think that they would know their clientele and be able to work with that. Nope. I saw a number of other tables wait a long time for everything. Second, their food is terrible and cheap tasting. I had the chicken pasta. I wasn't wowed by these guys to be honest. The staff and atmosphere are great, but they seem like they're still figuring out how to run a restaurant. The bar has a few great local beers on tap. The ones I had were very fresh and delicious so nothing negative there. Tried an old fashioned and was quite disappointed. While not as terrible as the keg, they certainly aren't going to be my first choice for a cocktail. Main meals were interesting. The girlfriend got the pulled pork with mac and cheese. It came out pretty good to be fair. I can't say there is much I would change. I got the pene and it was terrible. Very soupy and had broken bones in it. They decided to use shredded chicken instead of grilling it, a mistake in my books. I'd like to note that the person previously that said their dishes are bland want too far off base. It seems as through they're trying to let the ingredients shine through and not quite nailing it. Ill give them another shot in a few months when they've had a chance to get into the swing of things. While we had a great experience here, I would classify this place as an upscale Apple Bees. We had the Chilled Shrimp Bruschetta to start. It was tasty but it was lacking a little zest - like balsamic vinegar. Also, we thought that the shrimp should have been warm. Following the appetizer, I had the famous Surf and Turf burger and my boyfriend had the Tenderloin. For the price, the tenderloin shouldn't have been as tough. It was great seasoning, however it wasn't integrated with the meat well and lacked in the end. The burger with the sweet potato fries was very good, although I had a hard time picking out the lobster. The hamburger meat was amazing and I felt that it over powered the lobster. For dessert, we had the ganache - amazing! Best dessert we've had in a while. Overall, the experience was good. The service was prompt, although at times it didn't feel sincere. I came here with high expectations as the Canadian Celiac society recognizes this an astonishing restaurant, unfortunately I definitely didn't leave satisfied. My boyfriend and I had ordered french onion soup, the soup was good but the cheese in it was not at all melted and was just a slab of cheese in my soup. I had to swirl it for about 2 minutes in order for it to melt. My boyfriend had ordered the ginger beef appetizer and when it came out they said " be careful the plates might be hot". So when my boyfriend began to dig in thinking the food was warm. The food was cold and the chicken was not warm whatsoever. We didn't want to bother the servers as they said they were extremely busy and flustered so we just took the food home to reheat for that night. Unfortunately this is why I have to give it 2 stars. Went there with collegues for a business lunch and it was a great choice. While the hostess was attentive she also knew when to leave us along to carry on with ourr discussions. The Park hosted a vegan night in Aug. I was so excited there are not enough places in Calgary doing this. This was great as if fell on my husband birthday. So I pre-bough 5 tickets for my family weeks in advice and we were really excited about this. Well, this ended up being such a disappointment, they oversold and under delivered. Dinner took over 2 hours. As I mother with two young kids dinner cant take 2 + hours long. But I was told that we would get our food right away and not to worry. My kids growing hungrier and hungrier as we all waited for dinner. Not only did the food take forever but they started making their portions smaller. Instead of getting 3-4 for spanakopita triangles our table got 2. This was all over Instagram how the portions should have been and what we ended up getting. Instead of taken care of the tables the paid for tickets weeks earlier, they welcomed more an more customer in that they weren't able to handle or take care of. Even getting a top up on our drinks were a struggle. The waitress couldn't handle their tables. We complain to management, they called an said they were going to do it again and comp our meal to make it up to us. This was a great idea and I would come back with an open mind and give them another try. But they never ended up doing it. I've phoned and followed up and it's always the next month, next month. After the last call, they just couldn't be bothered to call me back or credit any of the money back. One big disappointment Great concept but the restaurant and staff couldn't handle it. read more

Wife had Spaghetti - again - average,but not great. Their Special Dessert - Banana Split. SERIOUSLY the worst ever. The banana had to be cut with a steak knife. That is not how you do a candied banana - shoe leather at least looks and probably tastes like shoe leather. I digress ... Waitress tied her best, but I do mention that she told us up front she tried all the specials and they were excellent. Until of course the Banana split arrived for Dessert, she had not seen that one she tells me now. If she had, I'm sure she would not have so heartily recommended it. NOT up to PAR at the PARK.
