The service at The 4th Spot was exceptional on this, my first visit. It's a local pub for this cozy Mt Pleasant neighborhood. The harsh early Feb temperatures outside made the cozy, welcoming atmosphere within even more welcoming. There's a $5 Happy Hour menu with personal pizzas, chicken nugget bites variously seasoned, quesadillas, fries, etc. Come between 5 and 6 pm. You may want to come a bit earlier to get a choice of seating as the place quickly fills up. At least, it does on a Friday evening. The food is not bad. Not gourmet, but it's solid, satisfying pub grub at a good value. The beer selection is decent for those who like craft beers. I was pleased to have the Wild Rose cherry porter on tap. It was delicious. The cherry taste was full, rich, and not sweet perfect! My friend chose the Pinot grigio that she enjoyed. We also sampled the Scottish Wee Heavy that was a good representative of the style. It's nice to know that there's a choice of things on tap for those who like heavier, more robust beers. The servers were spot-on with the service. You can tell they know well how to keep the thirsty and hungry patrons fed and watered. What is more impressive is how they kept the great service timing going ever through the very busy Friday night crowd. It was so crowded that one wouldn't fault them at all for any slowdowns, but they did a marvelous job of keeping it all working well, timing wise.

We were wanting a family style restaurant that wasn't a chain during our stay in Calgary, and 4th Spot sounded like it could be a great fit. This is a very cute restaurant. Trendy and fun but also family friendly. The main floor had families and there was also a lounge upstairs for those who prefer a kid free night. The patio is small but gets so much sun and is perfect for a meal too. My friend who lives in town commented that she has drove by so many times but never heard of it. Perhaps a hidden gem! The menu is large with many choices-pizza, pasta, handhelds, tacos, and more. Everyone was happy with their meal. The burning bee pizza had these crispy fried banana peppers that took it to the next level. Carbonara was huge, creamy and savoury. My husband liked his jalapeño mushroom burger very much. My son had a rockstar meal that made my momma heart happy as it was real food! The meatballs had stuffed mozza in the middle and the portion rivalled an adult portion. We would happily dine here again. The only small point of disappointment we had was our appetizer of dumplings came out and we had no cutlery or dishes. We tried to get someone's attention for a few minutes and my friend had to do the thing that no one likes but wave someone down as the food was getting cold. The person who brought out the food looked at the table so was just surprised about that. Our actual server was very lovely but also very busy. This wouldn't make us not return though as everything was really tasty.

So we went to this pub for my moms 60 birthday. Went on Monday had pizza. We waited 48 mins for 3 pizza and it wasn't busy maybe 7 tables in the whole place. Not only was the service absolutely terrible. When you finally saw a staff member you had to flag them down . After placing our order all the staff just vanished leaving all the patrons looking for their server/ staff. People stood at the door no joke over 15 mins. 4 party's of 2 . Then get burnt pizza. Are you kidding me for my moms 60 birthday. What a joke. I had a thing of flowers for her it was obviously it was for an occasion. It was absolutely a terrible experience. Why on earth would I spend my hard earned $$ there when the service is better at home.

came here on a Friday at 5:30 was already really busy. It's kinda like a Boston pizza very family friendly. Waited 10 mins for a table but the food took 30 mins to come out we ordered lasagna and ravioli... BUT WORTH THE WAIT! If you are a vegetarian their mushroom truffle ravioli. It's a really great alternative to moxies butternut squash ravioli which is still my all time favourite but this is definitely runner up. You definitely taste that truffle and the crunch of the sliced almonds and broccoli stems are perfect. I definitely recommend asking for extra Parmesan on top hehe that nutty element is perfect. The lasagne tastes very similar to Boston pizza nothing extra ordinary but a solid 8/10. There is so much more yummy stuff on their menu I can't wait to try so definitely will come back here maybe on a less busy day.

Found this place in my new neighborhood. Great first impression as I walked in. Took a seat at a very clean and organized bar. Had a great conversation with Olivia. She gave me the history of the place. I do remember Karouzo's Pizza. After looking at the menu and getting Olivia's thoughts I chose the inferno prawns. I was not disappointed. Certainly can see going back real soon. Great find.

Btw I was a class clown love the name of this burger joint from entry to exit the hollistic about experience is engaging and stimulating. From the bright neon lights of the out door signage to the double entry passage, this 70's blue collar kitchy decor and mood lighting and just overall chill vibe had me telling myself I haven't been to a cooler burger joint than today! Drink selection is screaming "you will not be found wanting" they had sodas, juices, liquor, beer, mutha effing wine! Wine!!! I saw the little fridge with all the wines and I knew right then and there this place was special as Class Clowns customers came from all walks of life. Sitting there I noticed I wasn't the only solo missionary to satisfy our hunger. I also saw two tables of young collage aged friends, a small table with two pairs of couples, and two mature couples. I wasn't fortunate enough to witness anyone order a glass of wine wine with their meal. But none the less We all gathered in union under the class clown roof to fill our bellies. I ordered a lager pointed into a frosted mug. Pounded that early and just enjoyed water cuz DUI's aren't ever coo. By the time I was half way done with my beer the burger and fries were arrived and my eyes couldn't believe how beautiful it all looked together. the fries were barely able to fit in the bowl topped with this sweet and savory meaty meat sauce giving a sloppy Joe type vibe, for some reason I was expecting a Detroit style chili with some heat on it but that's okay cuz I'm in Calgary Canada and when in Calgary... the fries were the old skool crinkle with amazing crispy and snap even with the meat sauce it didn't get soggy. The fries despite not aligning with my anticipated flavor it was amazing and a must get side order when coming here! The dounke burger looked too sexy to mess with, from the toasted sesame bun, the melted gooey sliced American cheese, grilled sliced onions, shredded lettuce, and the main event the smashed burger but not paper thin was still able to have an amazing crispy edge and texture all the while maintaining juiciness. Close your eyes take a bite and one would feel transported to sunny Southern California but in reality its home is in Calgary spoiling and making these "calgarians" proud! The service was fast amazing and chill! The ladies made sure everyone was taken care of I can't wait to get back to Calgary and Class Clown burgers definitely will be one of my first stops!

The place is easy to find an near 16th avenue but parking is a challenge as there is limited 2 hour street parking. It's in a residential area so there are lots of permit parking. It's a nice little corner restaurant with lots of seating on patio and also inside. One thing that struck us is the place is super clean and we liked that the restaurant had sustainability practices in place. For example, there is no garbage - only recycling and compost. All their cups and burger boxes are all compostable. They also provided a water dispenser to fill up your water bottles or compostable cup (provided). I even saw outside they had little bowls so even your furry friends can have water. This restaurant, you order at the counter, they give you a buzzer and when food is ready you pick it up. We had 3 Double Empire burgers with cheese, 1 Empire burger with cheese, and order of fries to share, and a chocolate milk share. Also, took advantage of complimentary water and I dispensed waters for the table. Everything was really fresh and tasted great. Burgers had great flavour and didn't fall apart. The fries were nice and crispy with warm soft center. The milkshake was great and not super sweet albeit a bit small. Staff were friendly - they all said bye to us, when we left, like they appreciated us being there. Great food, inviting space, and sustainability practices all make this a 5* review.

The problem was that I thought it was only open after 5p when I don't like to eat heavy things like burgers. Today I noticed that they are open from noon Fri-Sat-Sun, so I checked it out today (Sunday, 5 January). First thing is that unlike at nearby Class Clown, you can get your food to go (yeah I don't get it either, how CC doesn't let you order to go), and I got the standard cheese burger (OG Smashie) and a side of regular fries, which came to $18.50. Food was ready in maybe 10 minutes and I walked it home. It was AMAZING. Fries are beautiful even though they didn't hold up well in the 15 or so minutes it took me to get home in -15, but still, delicious skinnier fries clearly made from proper potatoes and just very impressive. The burger was beautiful!!! Gorgeous smashed patties, beautifully dressed, more than I can ask for in a burger and now it's tied with iyycburg for my favourite in Calgary. It's... unctuous. It's good they're open for lunch only three days a week because I could eat this every day and that might not be the best thing for me. But it is tremendous.

I love how much you can personalize your burger. Prices have unfortunately gone up; a double burger that was a bargain (for Calgary) of $10 a year ago is now (22 May 2024) $11.50. Still worth it! One thing confuses me: They have a challenge, it's to consume an 8-patty cheeseburger and there are photos of people who've completed the challenge. 8 patties is 24 oz of meat and for a competitive eater, that's not a huge challenge at all. So I asked, and it has to be completed in five minutes- something I could never do, so kudos to the five or so champs pictured on the wall. The only thing is that that burger currently costs $35, and if you "win" you get "bragging rights" and a "gift." That "gift" isn't the burger being free. Why would anybody undertake this painful challenge if they're not getting the burger for free IF they complete the challenge? I'll ask the management next time I'm there- this could be a huge win for the restaurant and could attract some major competitive eaters, but as it's done now, most people wouldn't want to try.

Overall, I've always liked the place -- but there's one employee who consistently ruins the experience. The bigger guy working there -- you know exactly who I'm talking about -- has a terrible attitude every single time. No reason for it. This was the last straw. I came in around 9pm with my girlfriend. The place was nearly empty -- maybe three couples total. He immediately told me, "Sorry man, can't help you, we're way too busy. It's going to be an hour and a half." That made zero sense. I pointed out that the place was basically empty, and he doubled down saying they had too many online orders. That just felt like a lazy excuse to not deal with us. When his coworker looked like he was definitely about to take my order. It's frustrating because the rest of the staff has always been great, but this one person consistently treats customers poorly and doesn't seem interested in doing his job. At this point, I'm done. I won't be coming back or spending another dollar here unless something changes. A good business shouldn't let one employee drag down the entire experience like this. Since the old manager left, the place has clearly gone downhill. The only people consistently doing a great job are the ladies in the kitchen -- they're always friendly and actually make a solid burger. That said, the larger male staff member I mentioned should not be representing this business.
