Not worth the wait in my opinion. We put ourselves on the waitlist and waited an hour. It's great they have a digital waitlist system and we got there when we were 6th in line and they got us in right away so that was amazing service. I have no issues with the customer service at all. However, I was just shocked how lack luster the burger and super duper the fries were compared to the wait. I also have had my good share of burgers especially living in Orange County for a few years so my standards are quite high but I honestly thought lil empire burgers and their dirty fries were way better and no need to wait 1.5hours. The super duper fries I didn't love because the meat sauce was quite sweet. Nothing special about the smash burger and I don't like an over sesamed bun. I thought the bun to meat ratio was off. I need to be able to taste more of the meat.

Found this place in its thousands of reviews on Google and the burgers + fries lived up to them. Tasty and unique burgers that stand out in downtown Calgary where there are hundreds more burger spots. The cool vibe of the interior and waiting area contribute to the dining experience for sure. Just be ready to wait, we were on the waitlist and it still took probably a total of 1 hour and 45 min from putting our names down and being seated to actually receiving our food

Ambiance / location / parking: My friend Jeff suggested this place yesterday at 11 AM and we went to beat the crowds. We landed there at 11:15 and got seated right away - NO WAITING if you are early. Bit of a smaller place inside than expected, but they now have outdoor seating and for nice hot days, it's probably where I would request to be seated next time. One cautionary note on the parking if you are using the lot right adjacent to the restaurant. it says you can pay via the PayByPhone App. So we went inside and I tried paying by this app for about 5 minutes. I gave up and went out to use the pay machine. JUST IN TIME - the guy was their taking a picture of my license plate to give me a ticket. I showed him the app issues and told him I was trying to pay by the app and now I was using the machine. He glared at me and said I had 2 minutes to do it and I needed to show him the stub in order to avoid the $75 ticket. So I did this and all was good again. CAUTION: for some reason, this location and app are not good friends and while you are struggling with it, this guy may come by and ticket you. On our way out, we saw a few other cars / trucks that had tickets on their windshields. USE THE MACHINE - it takes credit cards. This is an independent lot not run by Class Clown so they cannot assist. Service: very friendly and efficient. We were seated and served almost immediately and given water while we decided what else we wanted. Everyone was pretty friendly and this place had a great vibe. Food: Amazing smash burgers and doubly amazing crinkle cut fries. I am a crinkle cut fries fan. I have sourced out the four or five burger places that offer these types of fries as these are a definite preference. Couple of other places are Inglewood DI and Rosie's. Anyways, I ordered the McD dupe. No bloody way should this be compared in any way to McD. This burger was basic but so beyond the description I have heard put to it. My description would be a smash burger with a very definite crisp and crunch - very good. Fries, basic and poutine-wise was also A-one. Pictures below, my burger had a bite taken out of it already. Overall: 5/5 it was a great experience and we will def go again. To make my burger 100% perfect, I will ask for mushrooms next time. Otherwise, I would go with the same order. I think Jeff would as well. The poutine was his and his burger was half gone by the time I got to taking pictures, ergo - no picture of his burger.

My burger from Class Clown was the best burger I've had in the past few years. Hands down. Class Clown does smashed burgers right- perfectly crispy edges and juicy meat, leaving leave you so satisfied. I'm not normally one to fawn over a burger, but my California Classic Burger was simply perfect for what I needed, topped with a "trillion island" sauce, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and onion. We also ordered the super duper fries, which come doused in a heavenly cheese sauce and topped with crispy cheezie bits. Adding chopped jalapeno chilies on the fries also elevated this dish to another level. Being a waitlist-only / walk-up restaurant, snagging a spot can be tricky. Highly recommend putting yourself on the waitlist online ahead of time, as there was a 75 min wait for our table of 3 when we put our names down at ~3:45pm on a Sunday and got sat at around 5pm. Was a great meal after a day of skiing. The space is small, but really cute and well decorated with a retro feel. Highly recommend during a visit to downtown Calgary!

Why 5 stars? Because this meal couldn't have hit the spot anymore. --- --- --- We flew in from Vancouver and only planned to utilize Calgary for its airport with a proximity to Banff. But hunger took over and both of our bodies were ready to be met with the comfort of two good ole' hamburgers. While Yelp is not nearly as utilized in Calgary, I headed to Reddit for this all important research. "Hey Reddit, where can I find the best burger in Calgary" "Class Clown Burgers and it's not particularly close" - says one Redditor from a couple months earlier. Sold. Turns out, said Redditor was correct. Well, probably. I have now officially consumed one burger in Calgary, but it was THE BEST, despite that small sample size. I ordered the BBQ one. The wife went with the Donald McRonald. We shared some Super Duper Fries. And both of us came to the same conclusion: it was exactly perfect. It turns out, Calgary is more than just the closest airport to Banff!

Just so ridiculously good. Busy restaurant but get on the wait list and go a little after lunch and you'll be in and out. Service was great and food was just to die for. Inside of the restaurant is pretty loud but they have outdoor seating that's quiet and enjoyable for people who don't like as much noise. Don't skip this restaurant!

lov this retro hip aesthetic going on it's quite smol yet cute i stan all the decor hehe the burgers are very filling -- from the chicken sandwiches (i like processed cheese tbh) and a good blt type of burger. you can get lucky with the parking and wait! my bf and i got seated right away despite the fact that it was lichrally 30 minutes before closing on a friday night :-)

SO GOOD!! We are from Arizona, so found this as a recommended place on tiktok and it was a great rec. such a cute little spot with delicious burgers! The menu is small but straight to the point. The service is nice and casual. Love it!!

The best burger in Calgary!! I ate a lot of burgers in Calgary, and this is the best one I've had. Don't be scared by the long wait because it's worth every second..

We came during happy between 3 and 6pm. I got the strawberry lemonade alcoholic drink and a ginger beer. I also got to try the: 1. Honey Garlic Wings: which tasted like honey mustard wings. It was ok not wow 2. Nachos: nice crispy nachos with lots of cheesy dipping 3. Mesquite Bacon and Roasted Mushroom Pizza: It was ok and somewhat lacking in bacon or meat. But again, they only offer 3 different kinds of pizza with one of them being a vegetarian pizza. 4. Korean Fried Chicken: Ok, that was my favorite item out of everything I tasted here. They were so good The chicken was juicy in the center. 5. Sausage and Pretzels: The pretzels were somewhat disappointing. It wasn't as soft as I hope it would be. I am not a fan of sausage so I didn't try any 6. Pulled Pork Tacos: The pulled pork was super dried. I wish there were more sauce. But on the bright-side at least there are lots of meat. 7. Salt and Pepper Wings: Ok... I am not a big fan of anything with lots of pepper in them. But these salt and pepper wings were really really good. It went really well with the ranch dipping sauce. The chicken was juicy and the outside skin was crunchy. It was perfect. Overall, I really liked them. Food portion size was not bad and all the food came pretty quick. We also played 2 rounds of bowling. Guess what my bowling name was? Yup, I am Yelp1. So played 2 games. First game came in 3rd place and second game came in 2nd place. I got lucky. The game went smooth. No pins or balls got stuck. I did find the bowling ball weight or size is somewhat limiting. There were more L or XL balls than S size balls. They don't have a place where I can pick up more S balls. So I usually have to wait for the 8 or 9 to return. It could also be the lane I was playing in too. Overall, both games were super fun. I had a fun night. Looks like this place gets super busy after work hours. The lady managing the bowling shoes was working very fast. Overall, I highly recommend Nationals. I would say out of all the Nationals that I have been to, this one is so far my favorite. Note that in the summer time, they have the patio at the top floor open. This would be great for those outdoor people who wants to get a tan while eating/enjoying their day. Definitely a fun memorable day for me. Had great food, met some new friends and played some fun games here. Wow... a place where you can do all that. JUST GREAT!

As we wandered trying to decide where to begin, we found ourselves looking in the windows of the Social Beer Haus and their sidewalk sign had Caesars on special. I was unaware of this establishment and discovered from Yelp that it is relatively new. We were greeted and quickly seated immediately noticing that the establishment is very large - essentially two rooms. The place is very open and modern! There was not much happening, as we were in early - just after 11:00 am. As I sipped my Caesar and the Missus sipped her $5.00 sleeve of Steam Whistle, we perused the menu to which we discovered featured a full spread of smokehouse items! Meats by the half pound with upgraded sides and a variety of sandwiches and burgers. I ordered the "Boy Named Sue" burger and the Missus had the club house (it had a clever name, but I cannot recall it). While waiting for the meal, we visited with the general manager - my Missus plans her companies events, so she inquired about private bookings which are possible. The Social Beer Haus website provides info on a number of "floor plans" and menu options for private parties. The food arrived and it looked amazing! Hot and fresh - presented on what seems to be a smokehouse standard baking sheet covered in butcher paper - fine dining this place is not. The fried jalapeno, gives you a little "bitch slap" with every bite which would make the Man in Black proud. I added an ice cold pint of PBR to top off the meal. I stole a couple bites of the Missus' club sando and it was delish - especially the bacon. All in all, the food was tasty and the portioning was filling. The Missus and I were boring in choosing the standard fries for sides, but there were upgrades like mac and cheese etc for an additional charge. Some of the other reviewers were disappointed in that they were expecting Haus in the name of the establishment. I saw "Social" and Beer" and didn't even notice Haus. You could get a smoked link - that is close to bratwurst I suppose. All in, it sounds like this place is busy during the evenings. It is worth checking out!
