Wasn't too impressed with this brewery. Our first impression wasn't good. There's a sign that says to wait to be seated. We waited for about 5 minutes and nobody acknowledged us even though employees were walking by and some had made eye contact with us. We eventually sat ourselves at the bar due to the lack of service. We placed our order for some beers, (flight) which were ok. It took us some time to flag someone down to order some chicken wings, then took even longer to flag someone down to get the check. The bartenders stay busy but they have so many employees just walking around, it just seems like the bartenders are the only ones doing the work. I would skip this place if you visit Calgary. Stopped by for lunch. Ordered a couple salads and chicken wings for our group. The salads (one with beets, one with quinoa) were fantastic. Delicious and healthy. My son liked his wings as well. As for drinks, my wife had a flight (6 beers) and I had a pint as well as a flight of gin. If you're a gin fan, definitely try them-they make their own and they are all quite good. Came here for a work get together after they catered the event I was coming from. Some of the best beer I've had in Canada, so good that after my first pint I got a flight like a tourist and whilst I didn't like everything it certainly went the gamut of flavors, beer types and hops strength. There's gotta be something here for everyone and I even bought a shirt for my wife. Last Best Brewing is the First and Best Brewery we visited during our Weekend in Calgary. An awesome beer list, a killer patio and delicious food. The place is huge! Outside, Inside, Upstairs. But on a nice sunny day, we decided to enjoy the last of the Patio season. Sampler of 6 the way to go as there are so many interesting beers available and how could I just pick one? And of course something to go with the beers. Smoked Lamb Ribs was fatty and tender with Spicy Korean BBQ Sauce! The plating was creative and artistic! This is not the type of brewery I am usually drawn to. It's big and busy. We went in the frigid January timeframe in Calgary to meet some friends the night before a wedding. The food was quick and tasted fine-the typical pub food type of items. I liked the fries but I'm a fry snob. My friends enjoyed their pizzas! The service was okay -- like I said they were PACKED so I won't hold anything against them. They had quite a few beers of your usual tap list variety. Nothing was too unique or stand out, but they were good. Also the happy hour is pretty great. read more

The patio was packed but inside was fairly empty. We shared a picnic table with another couple. I wanted to order a sampler, and I tried but they ran out of 4 of the beers, so basically there wasn't anything to try. I ended up with an IPA but couldn't enjoy it because the server forgot my order while my friends went to the bar and order a cocktail. We tried to flag her down but she was fairly busy with an attitude and ignored us for awhile. The people next to us were frustrated as well. We did order poutine and it was a waste of money. It was so small and tasteless. Supposedly a popular item. We finished that and my friends finished their drinks and my beer finally came out, when we were able to flag down the waitress. I only came here for drinks. Well they have pretty good happy hour deals. If you are looking for cheap beer, they have $2 beer if you come here before 6pm. I had a mojito. Not bad not bad. They brew they own beer and you could get a growler here if you like. I have to come back for food. When the server walked by with the food, it smelled good. There are so many breweries in Calgary - how do you choose?? We had just passed two and my guy swore that we would find more if we just kept walking closer to our hotel. We ended up walking by this huge building and when we saw BEER, we immediately stopped and peeked in. I was freezing (def out of my element in Canadian winter) and just wanted to go somewhere, ANYWHERE warm. I was pretty surprised when we walked in and found a huge bar/restaurant filled with people. I mean...it was mid afternoon so I wasn't expecting a crowd but apparently happy hour was 2PM - 6PM. FOUR HOURS. Score! Their beer list is loooooong, as is their HH menu. They also specialize in gin which is pretty dang cool, coming from a former gin lover. I'm all whiskey now but would have been all over that gin menu. Nothing was over $5 on that drink HH menu. I mean, a 16 oz local craft beer for $5? Crazy. They had so many screens on and holiday decor still up...it was awesome. Just the place to kill a couple of hours while watching the game(s.) Only taking one star off because service could have been better. We were spoiled all over Calgary with the hospitality so we may have had high expectations, but seriously...the bartender probably only spoke ten words to us. We came in on a very chilly long weekend for some beers after dinner. The place wasn't too busy- we were able to have a booth to ourselves. This is a nice, big place with a large bar, plenty of seating, a kitchen, and a brewery in the back. There were a lot of tvs in view and the noise level wasn't too loud. We didn't order any food, but it looked like they have an awesome selection! We each got a beer flight, and I was pleasantly surprised to hear that if I didn't like one of the ones chosen for me that I could exchange it. The server understood my taste really well, though I did take her up on swiping a stout for the coffee flavoured beer. Delicious, and decently priced. My one complaint was the speed of service. I'm guessing they were short staffed, but we had to wait forever to order, to be checked on, to get our bill, and to pay. Otherwise this was a fantastic experience! read more

Fresh ingredients, fabulous taste, and fun vibe this one is a nice place to visit when in the city. Not a huge salad person but decided to give it a go as a side and I was so surprised. Filled with greens, pecans, feta, what I'm guessing is pickled radish topped with a sweet but tart dressing, it had my taste buds jumping with joy. The korean fried chicken sandwich was delicious, perfect amount of crisp to chicken ratio, but they put two pieces of chicken in there and they are quite big. Needless to say I had to take one out, but ended up eating it separately and that was just as good if not better. Overall a place I'd recommend! read more

This place was pretty terrible. It took us forever to get served after sitting down. It was also sooo loud that our ears were ringing after we stepped outside. Loved this place for happy hour! We came on a Thursday, right at the tail end of happy hour. Very happy with the flavors, portion sizes, and prices. We ordered two 9oz beers ($2.50 each) the poutine ($10) yum! The Korean bbq wings were crispy- not soggy- and had a nice little kick. Root veggie fries were $5 and had beet, sweet potato and I believe turnips. Would definitely come back for more! read more
