    God dam good beer!

I fucking love this place. I usually come here once or twice a month for a beer while I wander around the city. Would totally recommend giving this place a try.

Sunday Roast Special - tenderloin. Delicious.

Nice little British / Irish pub in Kensington, Calgary. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and had the Sunday roast special, which happened to tenderloin this week - delicious! There's an upstairs area too with a patio for nice days. The staff were friendly. Hope to visit again next time I'm in Calgary.

We sat at an outdoor table with great weather. This place has such a nice vibe in a quaint part of town. I had the Shepard's Pie and it was rich, hearty, piping hot, and ai would go back and order the exact same dish. This was my first time trying Poutine and it was yummy. One of my co-workers said the poutine was average and could have used more cheese. She ordered the short rib dish and loved it. Another friend ordered the gnocchi and said she would order it again as well. Go there just for the Shepard's pie and you won't be disappointed

We're visiting from Baltimore. We visited a bunch of places in the area over the past five days, and we keep coming back here. The staff has made us feel at home.

I find Kensington Pub to be a cute little place to have drinks with friends. Since it's located off the busy Kensington Road, it tends to be a little quieter and a little more intimate. That could be because it has three stories in the place, so everyone is very separated. I like that you can choose to sit upstairs or down. It gives me the feel of an old country house with its all wooden interior and decorations. I find it to be very quaint and cute... I know, how can a pub be cute right? But it is. I also really enjoy the staff at this pub. They always seem so nice and friendly, even if the patrons are getting a little rowdy. I speak from experience since my friends tend to get somewhat obnoxious when they're drunk, but the workers are always amused and are never belligerent to us! I don't visit this place as much as I should, since I really enjoy it. If I was in the Kensington area more often, then maybe I'd go there more... it makes for a pretty nice time.

Whaddya say about a pub where you order a pint and it comes with half a toothpick floating in it? Well, if it's the Kensington Pub, you say it's probably the nicest and most pretentious, expensive pub you could hope to have such an experience. I thought it extra special when the server I explained my predicament to was so kind as to ask me if I wanted a new beer. No, I'll just drink around the toothpick. Waste not, want not, as they say. All sarcasm aside, a lot of people I know dig on the Kensington Pub. Due to my unfortunate experience, I am not one of them. So drink up. Just mind the choking hazards and I'm sure you'll have a fine time.

This pub fits into Kensington quite well. It's always busy in the evening, filled with locals relaxing and enjoying a pop. It has an old time feel and is a decent place to stop in while in the area. One time they wouldn't serve us because my girlfriend didn't have her id. I understand the laws of the land, but why would I take a 17-year-old to a pub in Kensington? The waitress obviously knew she wasn't a kid, but insisted on seeing id. If I was sneaking kids into bars, it wouldn't be the laid back atmosphere of a pub. I'd take the kids to a real crazy, happening place where music was pounding and they could run wild and free. Common sense is hard to come by these days.... All that said, The Kensington Pub is not a bad place for people in their 30s or older.

Fish Tacos and a slightly enjoyed Village Blonde.

It's like grabbing a beer at your good friends house - if your friend is a fierce gentleman from Britain in the late 1800's, who holds doors, offers his coat, and could fist fight a bear if the situation arose. He's also a pretty darn good cook! Kensington Pub (K-Pub or KP for all you locals) is one of my favourite warm and cozy spots for a pint (or six) of some local or Euro brews and good conversation when the weather outside is frightful. Brick and woods walls, stained glass windows, and heavy wood tables and bars give this pub a real authentic, old-time feel. It looks to be an original Calgary century home that's been converted into a a tavern. If it's not, they do an bang up job of making it seem like it, and I love the multiple rooms and levels that give it that old house feel. There's a variety of table sizes throughout so if you want to sit at the bar with a friend, no problem. You want to hang out in a booth with 6 friends? No problem! It's a popular spot that fills up fast, so getting the perfect spot that works for you and your posse of english gentlemen can involve some lurking about at the bar to pounce on favourite table when a party leaves. They've got a good sized menu full of English comfort fares and Canadian pub classics, that have been delicious and consistent every time I've been. Ask if they have Curry and Chips! They seem to come and go, but if they have them, you are in for a treat!

Here's what we ordered: Mango boba - surprisingly tart and could've used a bit of sweetness Peanut chicken salad - flavorful and refreshing, with noodles at the bottom Fish tacos with sweet potato fries - the beer-battered fish was crispy and delicious While the food was solid and the patio atmosphere was great, the service really impacted our experience. When we were ready to pay, it was difficult to get our server's attention. My husband eventually had to approach her across the patio, and she processed our payment while standing right there. It seemed like they were short-staffed the day we visited, which might explain the delays, but the lack of attention was still frustrating. Overall, good food and a nice setting, but I'd give it 3.5 stars due to the service issues

Food here is just alright. Fish tacos weren't bad but the fish wasn't crispy at all. The quasedilla "tortilla" was a little thick. The meat in the BBQ rice bowl was pretty good, but the ratio of rice to everything else was too high. The salad was pretty good and quite a large serving. We had A LOT of trouble flagging down our waitress, especially near the end when we were ready to pay, which was quite frustrating and the main reason I'm docking stars. However, I will say the setup outside is really nice. There are hanging plants, pretty large tables, music that's not too loud, and overall a nice vibe. I think for a slow, casual evening out this place will have you covered.

The wine list isn't huge, but what they offer is curated and impressive. We ordered the Wedge Salad and Truffled Arancini. Both arrived about 15 minutes later. The salad was underdressed, and the Arancini, while hot, lacked the tomato sauce that would have elevated the dish. Minor issues, but we moved on. Unfortunately, the main course experience was disappointing. After waiting 45 minutes, our entrees finally arrived--at room temperature. At that point, we were too hungry to send them back and wait another 20 minutes. When we shared our concerns, the staff initially offered complimentary desserts, which felt inadequate given the circumstances. After further discussion, they comped both entrees and provided a $25 gift certificate, which was a fair gesture and appreciated. The GM and Bobby personally apologized and invited us to ask about "little surprises" in the wine cellar next time, which was a nice touch. Overall, great wine and recovery effort, but the kitchen timing and food temperature need serious improvement. Hoping for a better experience next time because the potential is there.
