The bartender was kind and made me this non-alcoholic spicy drink. Now about the chicken sandwich, The bun was very fresh and not soggy from the sauce. The coleslaw was very crunchy with flavor and there were lots of pickles. My only complaint about this chicken sandwich is there is no chicken if you seen the picture, there's only a small thin piece of chicken and the rest is all breading. Suggestion is to give more chicken. You are only really paying to the bread and the fluff on the sandwich. They do play awesome music and the music videos are playing on the tv at the bar. It's a very fun atmosphere. The waitresses and waiters were really attentive and great. I would recommend this place. Try it out.

Ahi poke bowl no tofu, chicken Caesar salad, bbq pork bowl

Stopped here at about 4:30 on a Saturday and was seated immediately. Service was great & waitress was considerate. The flavors of each meal were really unique to each dish ordered. The Cesar dressing was one of my favorite parts of the meal and the salad had an overall great texture. The poke bowl was very fresh and was a solid portion of food! The only downside to this meal would be the amount of chicken added to the salad for the cost-- it was an additional $7.50 for a smaller amount of chicken, but other than that I enjoyed eating here!

My boyfriend and I spent a few days in the Eau Claire area of downtown Calgary between travels. Our second dinner spot, just across from Joey, was Local Public Eatery. It's a super cool restaurant, and they had a trivia night going on upstairs that seemed super fun. I had tacos, which were okay; the flavor of the meat was too rich for me. Unfortunately, the bottom of my boyfriend's burger was soaked with sauce, so he couldn't really enjoy it. I would definitely recommend this place for larger groups for small bites and drinks because they have great group deals, discounts, and fun trivia nights. Also the perogies were delicious !!!

Wide variety of local draft and beyond beers.

Second day in Calgary and this was our favorite place so far. Friendly staff and good selection of drinks. Started with edamame which was very tasty with good sauce. We had fish and chips and bar q rice bowl which were very delish. Would def recommend the local public eatery.

We had a great time checking out this spot. We went well after lunch and before dinner so there was no wait. There were plenty of beer options. The nachos were good and I would probably get them again. Service was quick and efficient. They also had a great outdoor patio.

Dirst visit to Calgary, we're walking down the Center street looking for grub. We fall upon the Local Public Eatery. Quick check up on Facebook and it's very well rated. in we went. Decor is like a Ranch meets Sports Bar. Warm and welcoming. Great staff with wonderful service. You can also play Jenga while you wait. * Good Burger but not mind-blowing. utilitarian. * VERY GOOD Onion rings. So much so, we had seconds. * My girlfriend had the Steak + Frite. The fries looked a little anemic but turned out great. crunchy but not dry and very flavourful. the steak was super tasty and was like butter in the mouth. * Accompanying sauces with the steak and the rings were also quite delicious. And we got to see a real life cowboy. In the end my mind wasn't blown, but it was far better than average and I would go again easy.

Came in for a group dinner while I am in town for business meeting for the whole. The food was great but the house red wine was just okay.

Fish and chips with a side of super yummy coleslaw.

Service was superb, ambiance was quite nice, I sat upstairs, outside. It was quiet, lovely and peaceful. The food was great. Fish was fresh and flaky and lightly breaded. The fries were crispy the whole meal. Coleslaw was amazing.

Everything was super tasty! The steak was very tender and the fries/rings were crispy to perfection. The BBQ RICE BOWL super flavorful and fresh (substituted rice with riced cauliflower). The SPICY GUAVA MARGARITA was refreshing flavorful. The crew was amazing super helpful and fun and the ambiance was on point warm wooden floors and alternative music in the air made for great evening out!

Food was just okay. The steak was a bit chewy but the fries were okay. The nachos were also pretty okay

Diablo Burger and Mylasian Curry

Lunch at The Local. I had their blue crush cocktail which was refreshing and very good. I also had the Diablo burger with ceaser salad. The salad was very yummy. The burger was also good but it was the toppings that added the flavour vs the burger. It was a burger. Now my husband had the curry and it was gorgeous, flavourful and so so good. It does have some heat to it but delicious. Highly recommend.

Fish and chips - 3 stars breading was not crispy Crispy chicken sandwich 5 stars

We were looking for a pub for lunch and saw some people walking in so we followed the crowd. This pub has outdoor seating but most people were seated inside. The ambiance is warm and inviting. Most of customers looked like business people enjoying a beer with coworkers on a late Friday afternoon. We ordered the fish n chips, I wish the fish was cook for a few more minutes . It was not crispy at all. The breading was soft. The slaw and tartar sauce were the best items from the fish n chips dish. However, the crispy chicken sandwich was cooked well and the onion rings were very good. I got the earl grey mango popping boba drink which looked interesting but it was so sweet and filled with so much ice I can barely get the paper straw to fit into the cup to stir it. And of course the paper straw fell a part from shoving it in a couple times. I had to remove some of the ice to have room to mix it. I wouldn't recommend this drink.

Had brunch here on a Sunday morning. Great spot to sit and chat. Servers were really nice and attentive. Food was yummy. Honestly one of the best eggs bennies I've had in a while.

We visited last night and started off on a high note with an excellent wine selection. The…read moresommelier, Bobby, was fantastic--knowledgeable and personable. The wine list isn't huge, but what they offer is curated and impressive. We ordered the Wedge Salad and Truffled Arancini. Both arrived about 15 minutes later. The salad was underdressed, and the Arancini, while hot, lacked the tomato sauce that would have elevated the dish. Minor issues, but we moved on. Unfortunately, the main course experience was disappointing. After waiting 45 minutes, our entrees finally arrived--at room temperature. At that point, we were too hungry to send them back and wait another 20 minutes. When we shared our concerns, the staff initially offered complimentary desserts, which felt inadequate given the circumstances. After further discussion, they comped both entrees and provided a $25 gift certificate, which was a fair gesture and appreciated. The GM and Bobby personally apologized and invited us to ask about "little surprises" in the wine cellar next time, which was a nice touch. Overall, great wine and recovery effort, but the kitchen timing and food temperature need serious improvement. Hoping for a better experience next time because the potential is there.

I followed the more than 48 hour rule to cancel the room without penalty and was told that its was during their blackout period and should have read the fine print. I'm really not even sure if that is legal. The hotel takes the full amount of the charge for the room at the time of booking, not at the time of check in and keeps the money regardless of when you cancel if it falls "in their black out period" that is not clearly identified when booking those dates. You better not have plans change or have a family emergency! RIP OFF. Buyer beware, do not book.
