We came for the ice cream at The Fat Donkey and saw this place right next door. It looked like somewhere we'd like to try, but I wish we just stuck to the ice cream. The food was no where good enough for the price we paid. Our server was very pleasant, although very soft spoke. We did ask for straws for our beverages, but she never brought them and we decided not to ask again. The Cuban sandwich was very lacking in flavor as well as missing pickles and potato sticks. The ham was one very thin slice of highly processed prepackaged ham. Don't get this sandwich. The PB&J bbq pork sliders were another big miss. There was no hint of PB at all, just a very odd and sweet BBQ sauce. The top of the buns had a significant burn make on top that was rock hard - you can kind of tell if you really look at the pictures. Not what I was hoping for, especially after reading the reviews that this was the item you should order. Our youngest got the four cheese bacon melt with the tomato and creme on the side. He liked it. I tried a bite. It was a very cheesy grilled cheese sandwich. It was good, but very over priced at $7.99 for just the sandwich. Our oldest got the large sofrito bowl with roasted island pork. This is the only item worth actually ordering. All in all, not worth stopping here in my opinion. I found this place while I was at Cocoa Beach for a couple nights. It's a really laid back environment. There was a mix of Spanish and reggae music playing that gave it a cool vibe. I had a pork sandwich, my wife had a soffrito bowl and my daughter had fish tacos. Everything was delicious and came out quickly. I'll definitely head back next time I go to cocoa beach. read more

Holy wow I have no idea what seasonings were in that sofritas bowl but it is wholesome, delicious, and INCREDIBLE. Dare I say the best thing I've had in Cocoa Beach. I got the Sofritas bowl with shrimp ($8.99 for Small). The crema on top was incredible, the guacamole was fresh, and the rice and beans were packed with flavor. A great place to eat right off the Minuteman Causeway. It is located on the north side of the Minuteman Causeway west of US1. There are a few parking spaces along the street that offer free 90-minute parking if you get there early. All that to say you may have a challenge to find a space to park during busy times. The restaurant seems to be a blend of about 3 different parts: a shop and bar section, an indoor eating area and an outdoor eating area. My group was celebrating an event so we chose to eat outside along the side and back of the restaurant. It is very quaint and pleasant. The waitress was very pleasant and efficient for out table of about 20. According to their website, "The Tiny Turtle offers a unique Puerto Rican Cuisine with a touch of Caribbean Fusion." Their menu seems to have a lot of dining choices and, I think, something for every appetite. I ordered a tripletta sandwich. It came out quickly and was delicious. This place was great! We went at around 5pm on a Thursday and there was no wait. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and we choose to sit on the covered patio area. We were greeted quickly. We asked some questions about the menu and for recommendations and our server was very helpful. While we waited another woman came by (I want to say the manager or maybe owner) and she brought us a table game to play with while we waited. The wait wasn't long though and the food was awesome. We both cleared our plates and then got a slice of super good key lime pie to share. We really liked the environment, how well we were taken care of, and how wonderful the food was. Very cute little brunch and lunch place! The decor is very cute and original, and there are TVs that showed both sea life videos and sports. My kids had pancakes and the French toast and loved them. I would recommend getting the large size as the portions were a bit small if you're hungry. My kids already want to come back again. My husband and I had the breakfast burrito and breakfast bowl. Both were very good and something I'd get again. The meals were a bit slow, so just don't come if you're in a big rush. It did end up also being a bit pricier than we had planned. Stopped in like we do every year when we are down in Florida. We went early Sunday afternoon. They now serve brunch and have expanded the outside seating area. The menu situation was a little clunky. After reviewing a breakfast and lunch menu for about 20 minutes we were told only certain breakfast/brunch and very limited lunch items were available. Luckily the items we wanted were included. Fish tacos were delicious as always. Glad they are still thriving since covid. The vibe is a bit different than 4 years ago. Seems more hipster than eclectic. We came here on a Saturday at 2:20 pm and it was so cute and staff was awesome. The problem is we were asked if we were there for breakfast or lunch. We said lunch, they said they were serving breakfast and only a few items on lunch menu. That was odd being so late and other customers seemed puzzled also. We chose from the limited items on lunch menu and they were outstanding. My husband had the tacos and he said they were perfect. I had the Tripleta sandwich and I can't remember ever having such a good sandwich. The plantains were fantastic too. The black beans and rice however was not edible. A-MUST if you're visiting Cocoa Beach!!! WOW! Today, I visited The Tiny Turtle for the first time! Besides the heat, lack of working fans outdoors, and the Covid required masks employees had to wear (which made it very hard to understand what they were saying), it was such a treat to eat here! The Tiny Turtle is a small business run by a husband and wife dream-team! I forgot to ask their names... but the wife/co-owner was the face of the restaurant. She greeted everyone with a smile and a "hello!" She made sure glasses were refilled quickly and empty dishes were removed with haste when we were finished. Side note, she wasn't our server... but she was sure to engage with every customer. Her husband is the mastermind/head-chef in the kitchen! The amazing food we were blessed with were his creations. He served up Caribbean food with some Mexican flare! YUM! Everything was fresh, hot, well seasoned, and extremely enjoyable. Due to Covid, we weren't able to eat inside but that was understandable. Customer's safety comes first here! They only had one menu and it was taped to a sign outside so everything was contactless! Yay! Parking: they don't have a parking lot so show up early and be prepared to feed the meter, go to the parking garage, or look for street parking! We walked a couple blocks... but it was well worth it! Casual spot with delicious food! I stopped by for lunch and got the sofrito bowl with pork to-go. They offer the bowl in small and large sizes, but the small size is big enough for lunch. If you want leftovers, definitely get the large size. The food at The Tiny Turtle reminds me of what I ate growing up in a Panamanian household. My family and I were looking for somewhere local after our trip to the beach and we'd heard that this place was one of the best around, so we decided to check it out. I must say that statement seems to be correct. I ordered the Sofrito Burrito and I found it quite enjoyable. The proportions aren't too much so it's easy on the stomach and won't leave you bloated. The pairing with the chips and salsa was also a nice touch. All of the waitresses are absolutely wonderful and very kind. When we entered the restaurant a very kind waitress told us ahead of time that the ticket time was gonna be a bit, slow so it was very nice of her to inform us. The scenery was very nice as well, the interior and the exterior were wonderfully decorated. The dishes come with 2 sides - we tried the chips and salsa and sweet plantains, both which were small servings but a powerhouse of flavor. This location is not on the beach and does not have a water view, but it is in a pedestrian-friendly part of Cocoa Beach with a lot of eateries and shops to browse. The Tiny Turtle requires street parking. The interior has limited seating so plan to dine at a non-peak day/time, or be patient as you wait for a table or order food to go. Had a sofrito bowl here, which is one of the most ordered dishes here. Loved the maduros that came in the bowl, they felt almost like the dessert you have at the end.
