I have been here three times. The food has been delicious each time. The sliders have been my favorite dish. The service has varied; sometimes it's quick and easy, other times it's slow and the waitstaff seem a little stressed out/busy, but not toward the customers. The drinks are great; they make their cocktail mixes in-house. Get a margarita. Lots of seating inside and out, including bars inside and outside. Ice cream shop is right next door, too! read more

Tiny Turtle is amazing! Caribbean fusion style food done with creativity and uniqueness you'll be hard pressed to find anywhere else. Add to that the casual beach atmosphere with tiki themed decor and an amazing outdoor dining area and the fact that it is 2 blocks from the ocean and you have a truly one of a kind dining experience! The owners are some of the nicest folks you will ever be fortunate enough to meet and their staff does an absolutely outstanding job. COVID restrictions have no doubt been a challenge but the owners and staff quickly shifted gears and take all necessary measures to provide a safe dining experience. We were at Cocoa Beach and decided to find a place to eat. We searched in Yelp and came across The Tiny Turtle. Quaint place with a very Island vibe...inspired by Puerto Rican flavors. We got the Sofrito bowl with chicken and beef and also the PB & J BBQ sliders let's just say we didn't have much to talk about during our meal. Just delicious!! Stopped in for lunch today based on Yelp reviews. I had the sofrita bowl with chicken and it was absolute amazing. The best thing I've eaten in a long time. My husband had the Tripleta sandwich and he said it was delicious too! The portions were large and satisfying and the prices extremely reasonable. The service was excellent. Both servers stopped by our table numerous times to check on us and see if we needed anything. Even though it's an hour away from where we live, we'll definitely be back. Small little joint on the south end of Cocoa, great atmosphere and the food was top notch. I ordered the Triple T Toastie huge breakfast sandwich with three meats, ham, sausage and bacon. It was perfect, the cuban bread it was made on was so soft and airy. The sandwich was top notch. Few other's in our party one had the breakfast taco's which were also amazing, the Tropical pancakes that were like no other they ever tried and the huevos rancheros all the items we ordered were amazing. The only thing that made this a 4 star instead of a 5 star rating was the slow service. There was only one server for all the tables outdoors (all seating is outdoors right now) and carry out orders. We waited over 25 minutes before the server even acknowledged us before she ran back inside. Really rough right now with staffing with COVID-19, so we waited. It's worth the wait. The food is wonderful. The Burger Caribe never fails to please. A great combination of flavors and spices makes them worth the wait. The beach slaw is awesome, and the side salads have a certain kick that excites the taste buds. read more

This place was great! Good food, good drinks, good price and friendly staff. John (bartender and our waiter) was super friendly and helped us finding places in Cocoa Beach we needed to visit on our stay. You have to visit The Tiny Turtle if you are ever in the area. Sitting at a nearby bar I started looking through the Yelp app for a nice place to eat. I found the tiny turtle and it seemed like it was worth a shot. Not only was it a good choice but it was the best food I had the whole time I was in Cocoa. We walked in around 8:30 and there were only 1 other table of people there. Really has an off the wall feel with a single tv playing random cool YouTube videos. 1 server working the front and she did extremely well. They said they started as a food truck out back and then progressed into the full restaurant. I got a super tasty sandwich that was made real well. Plantain chips on the side with their signature sauce and I couldn't get enough of. They have beer and dessert as well. Prices are not bad and can be seen on the menu here on Yelp. 15 dollars a person roughly. Excellent restaurant and definitely worth the visit. And you can get ice cream right next door!! read more

I had a business related call from one of the business owners I met last week in Cocoa Beach so I headed down earlier in the day than planned. The staff of The Tiny Turtle was still preparing for the crowd that was expected once the festivities in town began. Once I heard the ribs were ready I ordered a rib plate. After putting in my order it only took about 7 minutes for my food to be brought to the table and the presentation was very nice but the million dollar question... Is it going to meet with MY approval since I will admit that I am a BBQ snob? Let's find out... I started with the coleslaw and the there was a bit more dressing and the seasoning was right on the mark. The toast was a Puerto Rican Sweet Bread that was toasted on the grill. Hiding under the ribs was some yellow rice with black beans and my only complaint was that I would have liked more of it because it was very good. OK OK... Now for the whole reason I came back to The Tiny Turtle this evening... THE RIBS! They were fall off the bone tender with a light smoky flavor and just a hint of seasoning. The cartilage was tender enough to eat and I have to admit that the cartilage is my favorite part of the ribs when they are cooked right. Well done Moses. My personal preference for ribs is to add a bit of Mesquite flavor but that is only because Texas introduced me to the spiciness it adds to the meat. But that is just MY preference so keep that in mind. Last time I checked, Mesquite does not grow in the Caribbean so I will just have to suck it up... giggle That BBQ sauce you had on the side was great. I don't like an overly sweet sauce and this was just to my liking. You might want to put it in a 16 oz jar and offer it for sale. Hint Hint... I could be tempted to make a trip from Orlando to Cocoa Beach every third Friday for your ribs but the lazy side of me will ask if you will deliver them to Orlando? lol OH Yeah... Great reviews and a promisingly small, specialized menu led me astray in this case. I probably didn't do myself any favors by ordering the mahi mahi wrap. Despite its exotic, cool-sounding name, it's just not a very exciting fish unless someone JUST pulled it out of the water. Here you can tell they didn't - it was sort of grayish and just vaguely fish tasting. I couldn't tell if the guac was good or not because the tomatoes were - they left a sourness that pervaded everything. I did like the mango sauce they put on, though, and dragged the ends of the green, grill-marked burrito through the part that pooled at the bottom. Got into town and did a quick check of restaurants in close proximity to our lodging. TTT had great reviews, so we headed in their direction. Had a bit of trouble finding a place to park. All the one way streets and lack of a parking lot had us considering 'plan B'. DON'T CHOOSE PLAN B!!! TTT is a very quaint and humble atmosphere. The food and hospitality are the features here. Great food with a Caribbean flare is the name of the game at TTT. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners and learning the history of the restaurant was a fascinating pleasure! Kind gesture after kind gesture from the owners and employees! The Tripleta sandwich was absolutely fantastic! Great beer selection, if that is your thing. And the price was more than reasonable. We highly recommend TTT if you are looking for delectable food, kind hospitality in a laid back, Caribbean island-type atmosphere. So at this point I just needed an absolutely amazing menu and absurdly delicious food to make this THE best spot to eat in the entire Merritt Island and Cocoa Beach area. Guess what? Amazing menu and absurdly delicious food - DOUBLE CHECK! I had the Pork and Chicken Sofrito bowl (the large means I got a little bit of both meats) and not only was it insanely good but it came out lightening fast. There are games on the tables (Magic 8 Balls, Rubricks Cube, Simon Says) but there wasn't even time to play them because the food came out so fast and I had to immediately start shoving it in my face. The Tiny Turtle was a little hard to find due to some current road construction but well worth tracking down. If you're in Cocoa Beach, DO NOT MISS THIS SPOT! read more

Wow! So food! Much delicious! Amaze! Went here for quick dinner with my husband after a recommendation from the kid working at Fat Donkey's desserts just around the corner. He said "whatever you get at the Tiny Turtle...get pork! it's all made fresh and it's awesome!" So we followed his advice, and got the large size pork Sofrito bowl, and then to karmically balance ourselves got the vegetarian quinoa bowl (which seemed like it could easily be made vegan). It was a frosty 50 degrees out, so we took our food to go since it's just a walk-up window behind where the Mai Tiki gallery used to be. The guy working the window was friendly and told us next time we could call ahead and pick up our food to go, and wouldn't have to wait. The good news was that it didn't take long at all, even though our food was prepared fresh as we waited. How to describe it? Well, I know when I go out to eat, I don't like ordering things that I could easily make at home - well no chance here, because with the awesome Carribean fusion menu there was so much veggie action going on and salty savory flavors and sauces - I don't even know where you'd start. The Quinoa bowl is described as: Quinoa, kale, tomato, peppers, onions, topped with guacamole, black bean salsa, a creamy mayaguez sauce and sweet plantain The Sofrito bowl is described as: Choice of pork (get pork!), chicken, beef (moros), black bean rice, topped with guacamole, sour cream, and a creamy sauce Both of us were full and our total + tip was like $17, so it's perfect for casual cheap eats, for dinner or lunch. Location is weird, it's behind a building, but if you can see Fat Donkey, it's behind there, and there's plenty of parking and outdoor picnic tables for seating. I appreciated that the vegetarian dinner was flavorful, delicious and well prepared, since that's not always the case at most restaurants - the chef mentioned he used to work at a vegetarian restaurant, so that might explain his skills with the veggies. With the guidance of Yelp I found this place and ordered the pork and beef tacos. This inexpensive food spot really knows how to put a taco together! The ingredients were fresh, the beef was flavorful, and the salsa was great. My only real commentary was that there was a bit too much of the mayo based sauce on the tacos for my liking. I honestly think the tacos would have been fine without the sauce and perhaps would have been better had the sauce been put on the side. Would definitely come back here if I was in the area. We get everything very fresh in all of our to-gos and dine in visits. The quinoa bowl and or wrap is full of flavor, texture and the presentation is great, please never take that out of the menu In our most recent visit, the waitress address how cool it is that they just got biodegradable straws and they will only serve it upon request! That is very awesome and one restaurant at a time can change the environmental affects of waste. On that note, I would like to ask to serve filtered water. We just finished our meal at the Tiny Turtle and I wanted to get this review out right away. Can you say fresh, flavorful and simply delicious? This is how we would best describe our meal at our first visit, of many more, to The Tiny Turtle. The menu, as others have pointed out, is compact but there are plenty of great choices. Two of us had the special which was the red snapper Sofrito bowl, oh my! It was excellent. The fish was moist and done to perfection with loads of great flavor. The rice and black beans were also delicious. My husband had chicken pinchos to start followed by the pork sofrito bowl. Again, all was nicely seasoned, came out hot and tasted great. My wife and I had the Sofrita Bowl and Tripoleta sandwich, they were both fantastic. My sandwich came with plantain chips and a slaw, which were OK, but the sandwich was definitely worthy. Great, fresh flavors in both meals. I'm not crazy about the thin cups the beverages came in, and I didn't see any iced tea. I'll ask if they have iced tea next time I'm in. If you serve lunch in Florida, you gotta have fresh brewed tea. It's great having this addition in the area, and we're looking forward to trying other items on the menu. read more
