The tiny turtle is a great spot in Cocoa. The food was delicious and of course authentic. The service was excellent and our waitress was so sweet. The restaurant has a really cool laid back island feel. I loved the shrimp pinchos. The sauce was unreal. The black bean rice was moist and flavorful. I really enjoyed trying a local cider. They have a ton of drink options to include the largest selections of mocktails I've seen in the area. They had pages of all kind of Florida Brewery's. I absolutely recommend stopping in for lunch. The prices were also excellent. Extremely affordable for the area.

Cute cozy spot with great friendly service and delicious fresh food. Lots of options for seating inside or out. Bathroom was a bit of a disaster and not toilet paper though. Parking lot across the street. Next to a yummy ice cream shop.

We stumbled upon The Tiny Turtle when looking for a place to grab a late lunch after going to the Brevard Zoo and are so happy we did. It's 5 stars all around! Our server Grace and the other staff were great. The front patio is a great place to chillax with some apps and cool refreshing beverages. There's a nice buffer of trees so you don't feel like you're sitting right on the sidewalk. The Sofrito bowl with Mahi Mahi was amazing. The black bean rice with the guacamole and beach slaw worked so well together. Topping it with perfectly cooked Mahi completely put it over the top. I loved the way all the flavors complimented each other. The chicken and cheese empanadas were freshly cooked and tasted great. We can't wait to go back!

Small carribean inspired spot. I stopped in on a Monday during lunch hours in the off season. It was slow so the food arrived to my table quickly. I ordered a small sofrito nacho plate with mahi mahi. It had a hint of spice but was mostly covered in wet sauces. I love condiments & I love a saucy dish but it was a bit much with salsa, guacamole, sour cream & some type of house sauce. It all kind of overpowered the meal. It didn't really hit the spot for me. Menu is intentionally small and somewhat the same dish served in different ways; burrito, salad, bowl, nachos, etc. Service was great! Very friendly and welcoming.

We headed right to Cocoa Beach after we landed in Orlando. We were really hungry, so we decided to try The Tiny Turtle--and we are so glad we did! Our server was so friendly, and got to our table quickly. We ordered drinks while we tried to figure out what to eat. The kids got meals from the kids menu--a pork quesadilla and a cheeseburger, both with black bean rice on the side. My husband and I shared the Sofrito Burrito with roasted island pork, and we had to try it "wet style" (with more of all the sauces on top--YUM!). Food was so flavorful and fresh! I saw the nachos going to another table, and those looked awesome, too! Glad we stopped in. HIGHY RECOMMEND!

I love the chill , island vibes here! They even played music from one of my favorite bands- Stick Figure. Pros: Ambiance is very cool. Very beachy, semi-tiki, mellow and chill. There's a nice outdoor patio dining room that we sat in, covered to keep the sun out. Service was pretty good. Our server was nice enough, and the food came out in no time. No concerns there. As for the food, it was simple, but delicious. Who knew that adding some Island seasoning to some basic dishes can really make them pop? Cons: The server, who struck me as a manager, didn't have a good working knowledge of the drink menu at all, but we made due. Tips: Get the nachos, and get the catch of the day on them. If you've never had fish nachos before, you will love them. Also, get the burrito if you like burritos. Some breakfast burritos fall kind of flat and are disappointing, but these were gooood.

We came here one day while we were exploring the Space Coast a little bit. We have a buddy who lives out there, so we parked by his condo and walked over here to the Tiny Turtle. We chose the Turtle because it landed on the best places to eat in the US in 2024, which is a pretty prestigious list, so we were pretty excited. Ambiance was sooo chill. It's right next door to the best ice cream on the coast, the Fat Donkey. Thatched roof, tiki stuff, lots of outdoor seating. Nice vibes. Service was prompt and mostly the same: chill, beachy, islandy. Very nice lady. She struck me as the owner, or at least management. As for the food, we opened up with an appetizer. We got the nachos and for the protein, we chose the catch of the day, I think it was mahi that day. No one I was with had had fish nachos before, but they quickly became fans. The fish flaked well, and there were plentiful toppings that were layered well. It was also not a very large dish, so you didn't have to ration your protein too much. You could just eat and enjoy. I moved on to my main entrée, the Triple T Toastie (Scrambled eggs, white American cheese, shredded cheese, potato sticks, and Creme Caribe pressed in Sobao bread. Choice of veggies, bacon, sausage or ham. - Upgrade to all 3 meats). Of course I upgraded to all three meats. Very good sandwich. Excellent, quality fillings, bread that was pressed hard and delicious, and it was large enough to contain all the fillings and not be leaking out and falling out everywhere. A well crafted sandwich, paired well with the potato sticks that added a very satisfying crunch. I also got to eat half of a Wake up Burrito Scrambled eggs, potato hash, Queso Caribe, guacamole, sour cream, roasted tomatillo sauce, and Creme Caribe. Choice of bacon, sausage, chorizo, ham, Roasted Island Pork). Very good burrito, stuffed to the brim, and able to be picked up by hand, which was good, I don't like knife and fork breakfast burritos. Overall, this was a super chill, super cozy little place that can offer you a delicious breakfast before you head out to get your beach on. Or where you can send a runner to get some takeout and bring it to you while you're On the beach. Really nice. I hope to come back one day.

This place had such a cool vibe and the food was delicious.. we were new in town and wanted to get a unique experience after our beach trip. We stumble into this unique gem and did not disappoint. I had the sofrito bowl with roasted island pork, I initially orders the small size and regretted thinking I should've gone for the bigger size but the small was more than enough. The rest of my party ordered the sofrito burrito and they were all very impressed.

Excellent service, Excellent food! I can't tell you how many times we were asked if we needed anything? If the food was alright? The staff was very attentive! The food was plentiful and tasty! I had the sofrito bowl pork, my girlfriend had the quinoa bowl! I'm not a big fan of quinoa, but I'll say this, after one bite of my girlfriends dish, I wanted to trade bowls! Both were excellent! Tremendous amount of flavor in both bowls! I will definitely be visiting more often when I make my way to Cocoa Beach! Don't miss out on these bowls for your souls......enjoy! read more

We are from Orlando and every single time we visit Cocoa Beach we stop at The Tiny Turtle. We love this place!! The food is amazing, the staff is super friendly, and the atmosphere it's so relaxing! Stopped in here today after spending the day at Kennedy Space Center. I was with a group of seventeen people, seven dads & ten kids. Nice people, good food, decent prices. Got the Triplita and a shrimp sofrito bowl, chips and guacamole, a kids burger, and a tres leches to go. The sandwich was awesome, and I wouldn't change a thing. The shrimp was a little too flavorful for that bowl, but it was still delicious. The kids burger was tiny, and I think I would just pay the extra few dollars for an adult sized burger for the kids. The tres leches could have been really good, but there wasn't a lot of liquid, so it was super dry and just cake. Maybe I'll let a scoop of ice cream melt on it. Overall, would definitely return. read more

Perfect stop for a mid day lunch break to avoid the traffic heading north!! Went for the sofrito nachos and they were amazing. So freakin' good. My group of four went on a Sunday for lunch; I'd recommend going early to beat the crowd and easily grab a table. We had no problems but it did pick up significantly once we were seated. Started with the chips, salsa, and guacamole, and for $5.00, it's a steal! The chips are slightly spiced, and the salsa and guacamole are both super fresh. My husband ordered the pork sofrito bowl and I had a shrimp sofrito bowl; we both opted for the small size and it was still a generous portion. They were amazing! Lots of "bowls" throughout Brevard County but this has to be the best one I've had so far. The plantains were a great addition to the spice. Nice menu selection, too; another person in our party ordered the nachos with chicken and raved about them. We will definitely be back for the food and atmosphere! Tried to eat there about noonish on a quiet Monday. We really wanted to like this place because it looked casual but comfortable with an interesting lunch menu. We eat out often in the area and hoped to add this place to our list. Had to give up after about an hour because we still have not been served any food and the waitstaff were few and far between. This is a nice hidden gem. We Yelped a couple of places on the island and this one was closest. When we arrived, there was only outdoor seating and it took awhile for someone to notice us sitting there. So then, why still give 5 stars? The food is handcrafted and it felt like it was made just for me; very delicious and all of it fresh as can be. My son and I literally drank all the remaining salsa as the flavors were balanced and fresh tasting. I would say plan to wait for a table and for your food. I would return again to this place. read more

Found this local spot on our first night in Cocoa Beach for carryout. Everything we ordered was delicious with a lot of flavor! We got the Islander wraps - highly recommend. The plantain chips were tasty! We were very happy to see the owners are taking the pandemic seriously (with masks!) and appreciate their efforts. 10/10 would recommend. read more

History

Established in 2013.

Inspired by his Grandmother's and Mother's cooking, the flavorful Sofrito base of Puerto Rico, and his own restaurant experiences, Chef Moises has created a menu and environment that will transport you to an island experience full of flavor and a laid back feeling. Opening during the famed Art Show that happens every year in Downtown Cocoa Beach as what was called Food Truck Style, being just a kitchen on the back of a building with a patio and picnic tables for seating, it has now evolved into a full service restaurant but still giving that feeling of a small local "Hidden Gem".

Meet the Business Owner: Moises y Kelly C.

Born in Puerto Rico Moises' family moved to Florida in the 80's spending the first couple years in South Florida and then relocating to Central Florida. Always having the dream of owning his own restaurant he was given the opportunity after meeting a good friend a couple years after moving to Cocoa Beach. He had spent 2 years prior to the start of The Tiny Turtle gaining knowledge and experience in the restaurant field. Each opportunity he grew into lead cook, managing the kitchen and creating new menu items. He has been surrounded by many, including his wife Kelly, that have all had a part at helping him fulfill his dream and is forever grateful for the love and support.

Just my two cents. The staff was friendly, service was great, and soda refills appeared before we even had to ask. I also loved the local artwork displayed throughout the restaurant. Every piece has a price tag, so if something catches your eye, you can literally take it home with you. Great food, great service, incredible biscuits, and enough bacon aroma to improve your mood instantly. We'll definitely be back.

Both Peters were there: Lindtner in the kitchen cooking, and Jacjay greeting and serving guests. Jacjay was so nice and helpful to my wife, daughter, and me. What a nice guy! It's a very small place, but cute inside. Please note: Even though it wasn't listed on the menu that we could see, they CAN do lattes and cappuccinos. My latte was great! Now for the food: My daughter had the signature mushroom garlic soup, and it was delicious. I was jealous of my wife's bacon, cheese, and egg croissant... until my Western omelette came out, that is! Both were fantastic. My omelette was more of a thin, European-style omelette, but it was great! Like I said, I partially visited this restaurant to prove the reviews wrong and set the record straight if it needed to be.
