Really disappointed...I usually go to the burbs to get my threading done but I was in a pinch so tried this place. I've been before and it was okay which is the only reason I didn't give them 1 star. After a 35 minute wait, I had my turn. This was the MOST PAINFUL threading I've ever experienced (and I've been threading since I was 14). The lady cut my lip so bad and when I told her, she justified it saying she had to get close to my skin. After I showed her the bleeding Kleenex and she denied that it was still bleeding. Really?!? I didn't even get an apology... I can understand a few small cuts because I know it happens with threading but this is really bad. I can say I won't be going back. This place is great for threading. It's best to come in early or closer to their close time. There's always a crowd. Today for the first time I had a henna tattoo done. Awful place. Lady with burnt orange hair does not know what a straight line is. One eyebrow is thinner than the other and not only that.... but one is rounded and the other arched! And when I asked her to at least make them semi look like each other she removed from the thinner one. And lastly she says, oh just use a pencil! After looking for a decent threading place around the loop, I came across The Threading Salon . Reviews were great so I gave it a shot and I wasn't disappointed. Great service, clean and relaxing experience. After my eyebrows were done Lubna, she massaged my forehead and eyebrows, which did wonders on my sensitive to threading skin. Overall i would recommend this salon to anyone who never had their eyebrows threaded or anyone who is looking for a new place to go. I've been going to the same person for my brows for quite some time but a friend who goes to lubna had amazing brows. So I decided to give her a try and I'm so glad I did. But I have never had a bad job by any of the women who threaded my eyebrows. And $7 for gorgeous eyebrows? Can't beat that. This place was great. Found it on the way to the library, which was right on time because I was going to go to Thread Away after, but went here for conveniences sake. There was a little bit of a wait, but it was all good. Got my eyebrows and upper lip threaded and my underarms waxed. Left a $10 tip AND took a cab home since it was raining and I still saved about five dollars off of these same services I get at Thread Away on Madison. Granted, I didn't get a face massage, and the wait time was a little longer, but who even cares? The quality is the same. Even though they weren't super friendly, they weren't rude, and I always take in consideration the weather (cold, rainy, gloomy), so that probably contributed to the lack of sunshine. Still a five star joint. Sidebar: I read a review for this place where the reviewer gave one star, upset they were turned away for services arriving only a few minutes AFTER closing time. Just left salon, was disappointed to find one of my least favorite workers there this morning, the woman w/ orange hair and blue eyes (only one worker too). Always odd, says or behaves in inappropriate fashion. Today was no different. I have been going to another threading location past couple months due to past weird experiences here, I came in today only as I was in the area, I wouldn't come back. Today, this woman acted like she was doing me a favor doing half arms wax, and some threading. And she left door open, even after I pointed it out. SO UNPROFESSIONAL. Not sure if it's because I'm Indian she feels like she can behave like this/treat me so poorly (the non Indian customers are treated like royalty or fearfully!). After putting on oil after the wax, she didn't even wipe my arms w/ hot towels like you're supposed to! So I left w/ arms greasy. And she seemed annoyed too when I (as always) said no to face wax, I can only do threading (due to adverse reactions in past). Lady, if you can't handle the BASIC tenants of your job, why are you doing it?? Ironic too as in the past she has begged me and other customers for "positive reviews," she most definitely does not deserve them though. Terrible experience ICK !! They probably know better for you than you do. Always courteous and welcoming. I would avoid Friday and Saturdays. They're busy. Extremely busy. Everything you need and request is on point. I went in to get a full facial and face bleach, and threading done, the women: Shazia who did my facial also did the eyebrow threading. I can say she did an amazing job as she ask skin combination I am, I guess to make it more specific to those who have dry, oily or combination. All the products feels wonderful on the face, including the face, neck and partial shoulder massage. I left a good tip as I was please with the service I got. It more better than the other facial treatments I had previously from expensive salons. So glad is close to home. Can't wait to return back. So terrified for my first bikini wax, did my research and the reviews are so right! Nikki is simply the best!! How many people can say they hardly felt their waxing? Because I barely noticed it. Plus Nikki is super professional and treats you like a longtime VIP client even when it's your first time. I love this place, but the burst in popularity over the past year can't be managed by the same 3-person staff setup and the increasing wait times may send me elsewhere. Fridays are a nightmare and I don't dare try Saturdays, from what I've read in the reviews. Eyebrow threading ranges from good to awesome, depending on the day. Solid place. Not the best eyebrow threading I've ever had but they got the job done for $7. They take card but then they asked me "do you have cash for tip?". A little awkward but luckily I had a few bucks. I don't usually carry cash. They only have two seats so I imagine a line can build if it was busy but they're pretty quick. Me experience was a couple of weeks ago but I realized I never posted the review. The last time I came, it was the 3rd time I've come to this place and this lady totally ruined my eyebrows. I asked for a clean up and the lady thinned my thick eyebrows and cut me on both eyebrows. I also asked for threading for an upper lip and the lady left cuts around my lips too. I've been getting my eyebrows and upper lip done for the past 10 years and I have never received as many cuts as I did that day. When I pointed out the cuts to the lady she said nothing. I saw the eyebrows were uneven so I asked her to even them out. Before I left she said to hold on because she had to take 2 more hairs out and that made the eyebrow look worse. I was nice enough to pay for the job done but I will never come here again. read more

This place is a hit or a miss but they deserve a 1 star for writing in their own tip. I was charged twice as I was paying for me and my sister. However I was charged once for 10 dollars and the other time was 7 dollars. Now the price for an eyebrow threading is 7 dollars so clearly the first time I was charged the lady who rung me up decided to write in a 3 dollar tip as I remember being charged 7 dollars. Not only did they accept my cash tip but they took a tip from my card. I've never experienced this ever until I came here. read more
