This time I was even more disappointed and dissatisfied because EVERY bite of my "chicken" was tough, chewy, and tasted like it had gristle mixed in. Yuck! KKs Wings are good for just that..... the wings! The service is still good and it's a great late night spot. Because I only eat chicken, some fish, and turkey, I'm limited. I'm done trying anything else on the menu outside of the wings.

My guy went to lunch with a friend. He bought me a salad and beverage…read more Let's start with the salad. The salad was a great size. It was full of mixed greens. The cucumbers and tomatoes were duper fresh and very delicious. The chicken was a lil charred so that's why I dropped a half star. The drink was pomegranate and ginger. If you like a to sip and savor a sweet treat this will work for you. If you don't like super sweet drinks ask for it without honey. (I think they make it fresh). I just added my own freshly brewed hibiscus tea ti take away the super sweetness. I took a half star off for it being overly sweet but it's still very delicious. I plan on going myself to sit down. They have beautiful artwork and staff that remember regular patrons.

How could I pass this place almost every school day for almost 2 years and not stop in until now?…read moreWell now that's changed. This is a great greasy spoon that quite literally has everything. Only downside is the limited seating. Really nice staff. Good tasting food (that may or may not be good for the arteries but so it goes!). They also serve crinkle cut fries which is a bonus for me. Hubs got the Chicago dog. I got the Philly cheesesteak. My stomachless self was able to pretty much eat all of it (albeit slowly). We enjoyed our lunch for sure. And we will be back because they serve tacos, too and my taco obsessed self wants to try them . Only thing they don't serve (yet?) is fried chicken.

A quick heads up that this place is CASH ONLY. They don't tell you this over the phone. There is an…read moreATM inside (it charges a $3 fee.) Be careful when ordering online as they jack up the prices by almost double for a lot of items. The interior is a dump which makes you wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen as well as the condition of the food they are serving. They don't even give you a receipt when buying things. Everything about this place seems shady yet my nostalgia for the Sunny Sub on Madison & Laramie's superb Philly steaks convinced me to order. The cashier knows the drill so they give you time to go to the ATM after they give you the total. The catfish dinner comes with fries, toasted french bread and a salad. The salad even comes with onions and sport peppers. The double gyro cheese burger comes with just fries. Everything comes with a soda as well. You have the option of adding on lemon pepper. My food was done in under 10 minutes. The gyro cheeseburger has a generous amount of gyro meat on it, but is extremely messy. The catfish is softly fried to a golden brown, but they need to do a better job of either packing it or drying it after cooking because it was soggy as well as the entire brown bag consumed by meat sweats by the time I got home. The food is great although there is a huge issue. I don't know if it's the catfish or burger, but after eating just a small bite I almost immediately felt sick & would have to go lie down. I tried again later and the same thing happened. That's not the best sign to say the least and confirmed my earlier thoughts about the state of the kitchen. Overall, I doubt I'll be back considering the terrible first experience. Looking at their health scores they've failed multiple times in the past two years and have violations for unclean food surfaces as well as surfaces in general, not preventing contamination, having rats, insects (most likely roaches,) etc. It seems like they barely avoided being shutdown by the health department in 2023 for ongoing violations. I wish I would've looked at this beforehand because I would've avoided this place.

The bowl included shredded romaine lettuce, corn, rice, great spices, pico de Mayo, which added freshness to your palette, also it had melted mozzarella on top. I will be honest and say that I've never dined in due to the location being in Hyde park and I simply don't have the patience for the lack of parking and the congestion that comes along with the many great restaurants and shops in the area but where there's a will there's a way hence my ordering through Uber Eats or DoorDash. Whether it's delivery or ordering ahead and running in for pickup, my order is almost always the same thing which is the Cajun chicken fettuccine Alfredo bowl with grilled veggies(bell peppers and onions) extra Alfredo sauce and a savory addition of pico! Please try it with the pico cause im addicted and will not order it no other way! They do offer the option of other proteins like steak or jerk chicken and other veggies like spinach and mushrooms and even options for vegetarians as well. Their menu offers plenty other options for your tastebuds if you want a rice bowl, salad, tacos and other options that sound tasty but I simply cant shake my addiction for their pasta bowl!‍ The ambiance on the inside gives laid back and cool for maybe eating lunch or even popping out the laptop for a little bit of work and the service is great and on point cause they never miss a beat on my enhancements and added extras when I order. Try them out if you're in the area (if you can find parking) or if you want something different than your usual go to's. I recommend ordering ahead online and running in to pickup or you can walk in, whatever floats your boat.... and if you order the pasta, do yourself a favor and get extra alfredo sauce (it's creamy and delicious) and add pico! Thank me later lol

I was greeted by friendly employees at two counters, one for Andy's Sunflower cafe which sells coffee and tea, and one for food (Ain't She Sweet). I had no idea what to order so I asked the teammate at the counter and after discussing my spice tolerance, decided to go for the Jerk Chicken Wrap since it's so popular. It was a bit spicer than medium, which I was warned, but it was worth it. The chicken was juicy and tender and I was impressed by the freshness of the other ingredients as well as their tortilla wrap selection! The chicken gumbo was also quite tasty. I would order both again. The prices were reasonable, it was a $3 upcharge for a side of soup. I sat in the restaurant to eat and enjoyed the music. I think I might have found my new lunch spot!

Also if your establishment does not open until 11 keep the doors locked so potential customers don't walk in.
