2 of my favorite teas from there. If you save and return these tins and they have them in stock, you save 20% on refills
    Kendall P.

I will start this review stating that I've been going to the Tea Tree in Batavia for several years fairly often and can speak from repeated visits the inconsistency of customer service. I have always been greeted, usually someone's there to answer any questions or help me find something to suit my tastes. That being said, my last 2 visits in particular, both after the new year, have been mediocre at best. I was greeted both times when I walked in, but that's where the customer service stopped. Their shop is in desperate need of more inventory. They're out of some of the most popular teas: Matcha powder, English Breakfast, and others. Their Chaga mushroom chai is a new favorite of mine I tried for the first time in the fall on a recommendation from a woman I met from Germany. They were out of it at the beginning of January, but they did get more in stock at some point since I was able to refill my tin this time. There's a young woman who works there that's not very friendly and gives off a "I'm only working here for experience and a paycheck" attitude. An example of this: I asked about whether she knew when I could expect them to get more matcha powder in, and she said, "whenever they restock the supply." Then I asked if she could tell me if the Plainfield location had any in stock and she responded, "You can call them and ask." On my receipt it said her name is Kassie. I would give her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she was having a bad day and it was leaking into her professional life that day, but I'm pretty certain she was the same person who rang me up last time I was in there and it was a very similar experience. In the past, other employees there would not only apologize for their low supply of whatever was missing, but they'd help me find something similar and if I was interested, they'd call their Plainfield location for me and ask if they have certain teas in stock. I hope it's just this one employee that's not the happiest to be there and that this store is still generally a great place to work and shop. I live in Plano, so it's a good drive every time I visit. It would be nice if the experience was consistent.

    Overwhelmed with amazingness

This shop is all kinds of amazing! The owner is the sweetest most knowledgeable girl. My best friend and I could talk to her for hours. You can tell her job is her passion. The tea is amazing and basalmic and oils! And lotion!!!! Everything is amazing

What a wonderful and unique shop. They have so much more than tea, like, spices, vinegars and oils. Highly recommended.

I asked for a discount bc the paint work on this piece was sloppy. You could see the wood color under the newly painted piece in the drawer area, it was never taped off properly and it was just a bad paint job. That should have been my first clue to walk away. Vendor agreed to give me $25 off. I went ahead and bought the piece and Martin (part owner of rustic fox) helped load the piece into the bed of our truck. When they got it in the bed of the truck I noticed the wood was gouged. I noticed it and said, I'm going to repaint this so I'll just repair it with wood putty. Martin had hit this cabinet next to something that caused this to happen when he was bringing it back to load in our truck. We inspected the piece before we bought it and this was not there when viewing it on the floor. Now, I get it home and really start to look at it. This was not a gouge in the wood this was the paint peeling from the piece not being prepared properly. The wood is fine but the paint just peeled right off the piece. You can feel the old, varnished wood underneath. It's smooth like the day the piece was originally made. I called Rustic Fox and was told ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Beware what you buy here. This piece was never prepped and painted properly. Now I have to sand the piece down to the bare wood and prime and repaint. If this was prepped properly to begin with, I could do a light sand and prime and paint. My point here...Martin knew the piece was damaged when he loaded in our truck. He knew he did it. He could have allowed me to return it. The vendor lied and said how much prep work went into this piece. NOT TRUE, you can see it right on the actual piece, it was NOT PREPPED. I'll revise this post once I find out who the vendor is at Rustic Fox. BE CAREFUL when buying these painted pieces. BE CAREFUL all sales are final!!

My boyfriend and I were in downtown Geneva checking out some of the shops before dinner when I…read morenoticed there was a plant store. I am so happy I found this place! Their plants look really healthy and they have an amazing selection. I had been looking for a scindapsus pictus (often called a satin pothos, but I learned while I was here that it's not actually a pothos). The nurseries I'd been to never had one and so I was pleasantly surprised they had quite a few to pick from! Laura was super helpful and kind! They have a really pretty setup. They sell adorable decor and plant pots as well. As someone who is new to plants, I appreciated Laura's expertise and advice. She answered all my questions thoroughly. I was advised that I could buy soil for my plants from them in the future whenever I need to repot. She gave me a plant card with information on how to care for my plant at checkout. I also joined the plant points program. I live kind of far but will drive out here again to buy another plant, soil, or anything else I may need in the future! If you're a plant person, you must visit GROW Geneva.

They have a good mix of common and more rare plants, and prices are reasonable for the most part. Their $5 Saturday in store and online plant special is always a good deal (the day I went it was a 4" peperomia frost in store and a 4" lipstick plant online). Their new store has more homewares, jewelry, and gifts/trinkets than their previous location, since this one has more space. They had some cute things. Definitely a fun place to browse, and for plant-lovers like myself it's extremely hard to walk out empty-handed.

This is a great store that exudes love for Chicago everywhere. You'll find some stuff local to…read morethese far west suburbs as well, but a lot of the stuff has Chicago-specific themes to it (for instance, the Chicago flag). They have t-shirts, blankets, coasters, glasses, hats, wall art... you name it, you might find it. It's a great place for Chicago souvenirs or just for those who love the city (and most people around here love their city) and its environs to find something for themselves. I saw some things that looked familiar and that's because they were from Tori Grace Outfitters, a local artist whom I love (check out her Chicago icon pajamas, they're great!). The place is super packed but we were able to navigate well enough with strollers. But being packed to the gills just means it's that much more likely you'll find just the thing you're looking for. I ended up with a Swiftie t-shirt for my kiddo because my friend handed it to her and then she would not part with it. The employees were friendly and talkative, and one of them I think was the owner. I liked the store a lot and as I said, it's a great place for souvenirs. I don't live close to Geneva but that's the only reason I wouldn't shop here. If I had known about the place before I went home a few weeks ago, I probably would have visited because I was looking for a place to get some souvenirs for my friends kids, and may keep them in mind for the next visit home for exactly that reason.
