I don't write negative reviews often, but I am deeply shocked by the hostile treatment I received at cocoon. I was checking out at the register while holding my 6-month-old baby in one arm. The cashier, an Asian woman, handed me two small bags. I politely asked her for one larger bag instead, explaining it would make it much easier for me to carry everything while holding my infant. She flatly refused. As I turned and walked away, I distinctly heard her call me a "bitch" to another employee. Navigating a store with a baby is already exhausting, but being verbally insulted by staff for making a completely normal, polite request is entirely unacceptable. I left feeling defeated and will never return to this business. read more

Hadn't been here in a while, and Cocoon had now taken over the whole building, but this is now the least handicapped accessible shopping experience I can think of. Have to go down two sets of steps to get to the door, then back up stairs to the main level... overall I think we climbed up and down six sets of stairs, and we didn't even go to the highest level of the building! And this is using a cane: I think if you had a wheelchair you'd be out of luck, unless there is a hidden elevator somewhere. Their stock really hasn't changed much in a long time, so I guess between that and the fact that I can't get around the shop easily this just isn't the place for me. read more

This summer, we attended the annual Geneva Illinois Car Show. While we were there, I saw several people with shopping bags from The Cocoon Boutique store. I was intrigued, so I went inside to check out out. It is listed as a furniture and household goods store, but it is much more than that. Yes, they have some furniture, but, they also have a lot of eclectic kitschy items as well as some clothing. There is a vast assortment of soaps, toiletries, figurines, costume jewelry, and unique gift items. It's 2 floors of fun and I suggest that you stop in next time you're in the area. read more

Interesting shop located in downtown Geneva. The shop is in an old, 3-story house. Each room kind of had a different theme to it. Even the bathrooms were decorated with items to buy. Some clothing, some decorations, some tchotchke, and some jewelry. They have a little bit of everything spread around the 3 floors. We picked up some squirrel items. We had a gift card to use. The employees were friendly. One even offered to find some other squirrel stuff. read more

This store is really cute and big! It has two levels of items with various rooms. It has home decor, wall art, Knick knacks, some clothing, some baby items, bath and body. Really a wide range of items! Everything was displayed in an eye appealing way and flowed nicely. I would definitely stop in again! read more

Cocoon - Furniture Stores Near Me - Geneva, Illinois

Really great shop - have found some decor stuff that has gotten compliments. Great service the employees and owner are more polite than many other Geneva shops that sell similar products. The selection is great - though you have to come back after quite some time to find something new. I'd say there value is good - sure they markup but I wasn't about to find a *bronze fox to put next to our fireplace* myself. Love this place! read more

OK.... I'm not in to gift shop stuff but this place is in an old home in Geneva, Illinois. Plenty of rooms to keep the curios lid interested... for me .... Let the wife look and I'll find a nearby bar. So ladies leave the guys to split a few pints in the bar while you ogle at room after room of ..... stuff, read more

Great shop owner is so sweet she has a great selection of home goods that will go with any decorating style

Amazing store! Lots of cute furniture and decor! I spent a long time looking at everything and there was a small sale area upstairs! Clean and fun! Pricing wasn't cheap, but you could find some cheaper items. read more

My absolute favorite spot in Geneva to shop around. Geneva is adorable with tons of stores in converted houses so it's fun to wander them. Cocoon has an excellent section of home goods/decor, fun little knick knacks, some clothing/jewelry/accessories and just a wide variety of small little gifts that are thoughtful and cute! I ALWAYS leave with something for my mom and she is always thrilled with what I bring her. Pricing is also INCREDIBLY reasonable and great deals! Make sure you stop here in if you're in Geneva read more

I loved shopping in Cocoon so much before. They had great gifts at all price points and now it's very expensive home decor items and it to a certain taste in decor only. The last time I was in the girl checking me out could not have been more bothered by me that I was interrupting her cell phone time read more

I love this place. Perfect reading material for your children. Wether you are trying to raise the next leader of Antifa, communist revolutionary commander or just want to mold your little one to understand why she needs to put on a vagina hat and march against any given conservative politician. They have the book for you! If you don't have this all time favorite classic in your collection stop by Cocoon for your chance to own one today! Certainly one you will not want to burn in your town square when the time comes. read more

This used to be my favorite store when I came to the Geneva strip - have been coming here for years. I don't know what's happened lately, but it's really disappointing. They used to have a fantastic selection of fun jewelry and now it's 1/4 of the previous selection. They also used to have a lot of fun, quirky gift items and now it's mostly over-priced home decor stuff - and nothing even that pretty or exciting. The young woman behind the register who rang up my purchase did not greet me in any way - not even a hello. I asked her if they had a working bathroom (I noticed the bathroom had an "out of order" sign on it) and she replied in a huffy voice, "No, we don't." BS. Where do the employees go to the bathroom? That is not the way to treat customers. I wish the "old" Cocoon would come back, as well as the friendly employees who used to work there. read more

This is a very nice, neat store for you to shop for presents for families and friends, decorating objects for home, or some special treats for everyday life, such as good quality soaps. Compared to the little traveler, just down the third street a little bit more, I realize I like cocoon more and more over the years in terms of shopping for presents. I still love the little traveler since they offer a wider range of products from food, snack, home decoration, kitchen collection, or fashion accessories. But, I would say that, with two floors of nice collection, Cocoon offers a good range of nice goodies and especially girls I believe would find this shop very visual appealing and useful. That's the main reason I started to come here more often to purchase presents for my girl friends mainly. Don't forget to go upstairs for more inspiration and surprises! read more

Cocoon - Dainty Key Necklace - Furniture Stores Near Me - Geneva, Illinois

I love this place. It's packed with fun gifts and home accessories. Cocoon is a great place to look for a quirky gift for a friend, I always end up finding something for myself too. Even if you're not in the market for a gift, check out Cocoon for their out of the box home accessories too. Funky frames and wall art along with kitschy drinking glasses and vases. Cocoon is always on my itinerary when I'm spending a day shopping in Geneva. Hopefully, there will be more of those days this summer. read more

Visiting Cocoon is like hanging out at Pinterest's house. You could spend all day peeking through the store's nooks and crannies. They have an amazing selection of shabby-chic(ish) decor, more modern & kitschy odds and ends, unique jewelry and accessories, handmade soaps and stationary, and great gifts for everyone from grandmas to grandsons. However, you might find yourself spending all day in here simply because you can't get out. I love Cocoon as much as anybody, but being a caregiver to my 96-year old grandma has left me with certain concerns about the accessibility of shops and restaurants -- which is one area where Cocoon falls short. There are multiple sets of stairs, so expect a climb with visiting. Aside from that, you can typically expect this place to be pretty crowded, and while the cute and cramped exterior is an adorable part of their overall aesthetic -- it can also make shopping somewhat difficult when you can't see some items or even get into some rooms. I don't mean to rain on Cocoon's overwhelming positive reviews here. I love this place, and we stop by whenever we pass it. Price-wise, I've seen some items are that are just silly expensive, but it's pretty reasonably priced overall and a great place to find that-thing-you-didn't-know-you-were-looking-for. However, my sister and I are both in our 20s (so we're pretty able-bodied), and frequently feel uncomfortable or claustrophobic inside, while my grandma can't get in at all (I've been going to Cocoon for years now, and I'm still not entirely sure what they keep upstairs). Thought this might be worth a mention! read more

Don't pass up Cocoon if you're strolling through downtown Geneva. I love the nooks and crannies layout of the shop. Since it's in an old house, there are displays tucked into even a closet (or what it looks like used to be a closet). I thought I was done browsing, but then I saw a stairway - more goodies on the second floor! Cocoon sells small home accessories like mirrors, art prints, candles, and more, as well as a few larger furniture pieces like sofas, lamps and side tables. In addition to the chic home goods, there is funky jewelry, scarves, and handbags for sale. A few things caught my eye here, including a tiny white ceramic bird, with a photo clip, and a Tokyo Milk perfume called "Gin & Roses." I've only seen Tokyo Milk products for sale at a boutique in Hinsdale, so I was pleasantly surprised to see their perfumes for sale at Cocoon too. I ended up adding the perfume to my wish list later, after deciding that I liked wearing the perfume all day. The huge display of Roger Hargreaves' "Little Miss/Mr" books and coffee mugs almost gave me a run for my money too... Cocoon is fun to explore, even if you don't have much money to spend. The prices vary greatly. The bird photo clip I liked was less than $3, whereas other items were $40+. Cocoon reminded me a lot of Room 363 in downtown Naperville, but with more room to move around and a bigger variety of merchandise. read more

Five or more years after my first visit and this is still absolutely one of my favorite places to shop...I would say that its one of my favorite places to buy gifts, but they are usually for myself. ;) I have gotten the sentimental here, for a baby's gift...the unusual, for someone hard to buy for...the local pride, for someone in the area. They have trinkets, jewelry, home goods...and its all so fun to look at! I love the set up but it can be cramped if its a busy time. I would plan to go when you have plenty of time to wander, or when you think it would be less crowded but if you are taking a day trip to the area, be sure to stop by. read more

I love all the shops around here but this one is a hidden secret treasure! From outside I always assumed it was a clothing or expensive furniture shop...but not at all this place is full of rooms with perfect lil things for everyone and everything...house decor, gifts, baby books, jewelry, stationary, kitchen utensils, a little bit of everything! Think the little traveler but smaller and more focused on cute cute stuff that are one of a kind/special. read more

My other favorite store in Geneva! We've picked up some great gifts for others & "gifts" for ourselves here. The things you buy here will be the things your friends say "That is so cool! Where did you get it?" Unique one-of-a-kind finds for just about any lady, and some guys, on your list - at a variety of price points to suit any budget. Jewelry, home accessories, quirky finds...I love wandering around the many rooms of this place. If you come of a weekend it can get a bit cramped in here between all their great stuff & all the people looking around - but it's worth the tight quarters to peruse their items. read more

Oh my goodness! Sensory overload, so much to look at!! And I love it! I never would have stumble upon this gem if it weren't for my sister's dress fittings at Crystal Bride. After we went walking around the shops and her friend said we had to check it out. They have the most interesting home decor, I would love to decorate a future home with unique items from this place. They also have a ton of great little knicknacks that would be perfect as gifts for that one person you never know what to buy. On top of all of that, they even have perfume! I have been looking for a retailer that carried Tokyo Milk for the longest time so I could finally smell them (Sephora sells online, but they don't carry in store = womp). I got to smell the scents I was interested in and I might just have to pick one up next time I'm in Geneva. I will be bringing friends to check this place out! read more

Clothes, jewelry, accessories, housewares, knick knacks galore, gifty books, lotions, potions, high quality candles, soaps, you name it, Cocoon has it, and their prices are exceptionally reasonable. As much as I love Chicago's Art Effect and Lill Street Gallery, etc., etc., etc., when looking for a gift in the no-more-than $50 range, I can find something spectacular here, that I can't find anywhere else. Above Peaceful Parlour, there's two stores a few steps up or down that surely have something you're looking for, either for yourself or a gift. read more

We were about to walk past the store, but were looking at it to gauge whether or not to go in. As woman saw us and insisted we got in saying we would love it. She was the owner and she was right! :) Two story's of cute and unique household items and gifts. I hope to make it back someday. read more

I have been shopping at Cocoon for over 10 years and am always impressed with their unique merchandise and fair pricing. Nothing has impressed me more however than my last exchange with an item that wasn't quite right after I got it home. The owner is truly a class act and went above and beyond to provide the highest service possible - a reason why I keep coming back again and again...the entire staff is truly amazing at this bustling store... The service and unique finds will definitely have you wanting for more! A 'must see' in Geneva! read more

Cocoon is surrounded by other home decorating stores, but it definitely stands out in my mind. I like Cocoon because it isn't aimed towards the Country Chic set of many Geneva design stores. It's got an offbeat touch in many of it's designs. Although I wouldn't go to Cocoon for furniture, I have raided the sale room a few times. Their knickknacks are also fun to just look at. Each room has a different theme, too, which makes it a different experience than many other stores that just have a "bathroom" section etc... It's just a very fun place to go and shop around. read more

This is one of my favorite stores in Chicagoland and a must visit for a shopping trip in Geneva. I just love the layout of having the store in an old home. Every twist and turn reveals a new item or something unusual to look at. I buy a lot of presents here because they carry some really quality vendors. Excellent selection of candles, jewelry, picture frames, small bath items and gifts. If you spend over a certain amount ($100?) you'll typically get a really nice tote bag which I love using. I got a hot pink one a year ago that I still use and proudly advertise the store! read more

I am OBSESSED with this place! Cocoon is fairly large and has the greatest select of decorations, gifts, jewelry and fun items that are hard to find anywhere. The have such a large selection of goods, there's something for everyone here. Every time I go in I spend at least 45 minutes just in awe over how everything is so cute! Such a fun place, I treasure everything I buy from here. Love it! read more

I personally, call it my "dream come true" store. It's a very artsy eclectic store where you find things that you wouldn't anywhere else. Whether it's jewelry, home decor, candles, perfume, soap, or unique odds and ends, Cocoon has it. For this reason, is why I continually return. The products ARE a but pricey, but I truly believe you can't put a price on originality! read more

My Happy Place! Cocoon should be on everyone's Go To list...This has been one of my favorite shops for many, many years! Always Happy hunting! This store is very dangerous for me! I have to set a limit on what to spend before I even walk in the door, and make sure I stick to it. Otherwise I go crazy, and there goes the house payment, the car payment, the kids' college....okay I'm exaggerating. But I always walk out with something when I go here. And it's not just buying stuff for myself, oh no. I go here whenever I need a housewarming gift or a just because gift or whatever. I can always find something. They have so much and it's always changing, so no matter how often you go, you'll see things you didn't before. Absolutely love this place. read more

I absolutely love this gem of a store! The staff is amazing! They even make sure to ask about my daughter when I'm shopping without her. I have bought many items from housewares to clothing and jewelry. Cocoon brings back memories of Anthro before they became very big/commercial. It's a wonderful place to get a gift for any age and they will always wrap/bag n bow if you ask. Actually a lot of times they ask if it is a gift! Do you know why they ask?!? Because they care about their customers-yes that's how Cocoon rolls! It's one of my favorite stores..it's a place that inspires creativity with amazing staff and fair prices. What more could you ask for actually? My favorite things to buy here are...(drumroll please...) 1)Floral 2)Sid Dickens 3)Wall Decor 4) Gifts for everyone 5) Cute tops 6)Clutches 7)Jewelry 8)Hats&gloves 9)Terrariums 10)Poopouri(dont ask-just mist the toilet with it and let it happen 11) Tokyo Milk(best perfume ever ) 12)Aww change list-Just everything is amazing I suggest it all LOL. 13) Floral again-seriously so amazing. Cocoon is a great little shop with something for everyone! My mom had bought me gifts here in the past, and when I actually visited the shop I couldn't resist buying several things. They have unique, fun, and handmade home decor items, silly and cute gifts, inexpensive jewelry, accessories, and art. Their specialty seems to be wall art with snarky phrases - a perfect gift for that sarcastic friend. I found myself wanting dozens of things from here! I don't live very close to Geneva, but when I come back I'll be sure to visit Cocoon again. read more

Cocoon is the BEST. Simply the best. I love love love stores like Cocoon. It is HUGE, first of all, and I could spend all day in it.
