Went shopping there today and was swindled out of $10 by the woman at the counter! Picked up a…read moresweet vintage sweater that was marked $10, put it up at the counter with some other things (so I could shop hands free) and kept wandering for a bit. After perusing a while longer I went to check out. Was told the total was $31 and some change..... I was so confused and asked how (the real price should have been $21 something) so she goes on to say "oh yeah the sweater is $20, that's $10 and half off and those are so and so and so and so". Well, that's odd - I thought.... But I wanted the sweater so I just paid to get out of there. (Paid cash like an idiot and didn't get a receipt ) Got to my car to check the price tag on the sweater and what do ya know?? She took it every other price tag was still intact on every other item I purchased (as I know some antique stores save the tags for the separate vendors to keep track) so now it's double Hinky!! I'm bummed I didn't go back in and ask to see the tag but what can I do now. Oh well, live and learn. Hang onto your items if you shop here otherwise you're liable to fall prey to the age old switcharoo!

Have to go down two sets of steps to get to the door, then back up stairs to the main level... overall I think we climbed up and down six sets of stairs, and we didn't even go to the highest level of the building! And this is using a cane: I think if you had a wheelchair you'd be out of luck, unless there is a hidden elevator somewhere. Their stock really hasn't changed much in a long time, so I guess between that and the fact that I can't get around the shop easily this just isn't the place for me.

As with all "antique" places, some of their vendors sell generic, garage sale things that are not in fact "antique". I found a cool plate and when the gal took off the price tag, the plate was actually from target. I liked it but $25 for a plate from target?! That's a big turnoff for whoever that vendor is. The gals behind the counter were chatty and friendly! They seemed to really like their job:) They filled me in on their upcoming tent event- I like that they created that buzz! I loved that most items were out in the open for touching and exploring, with fun low-price trays and bins mixed in with tagged treasures. The staff (two wonderful women) were so kind and engaging - we had a fun conversation about the shop. Unfortunately, the ringing-up process was frustrating and felt chaotic. Purchases were split by dealer, but without a clear tally or saved tags, double-checking was nearly impossible (tags got mixed with others from earlier sales). It left me unsure if the final total was accurate - $95 or $115 makes a difference! I wish there was a better system for transparency. I adore the nostalgic, hands-on feel here and the amazing inventory, but the checkout experience might keep me from returning soon. If you are handicapped please be warned that there is stairs here and no handicap access. There aren't many good finds to be honest or variety of selection of products.
