    Teas to smell
    Agnes I.

I'm happy that I finally visited The Tea Lab last weekend (2 June 2018). As soon as you walk in, you can try the sample tea which I did. The tea of the day was called "Fruit Bowl" which is a mixture of green and white tea with passionfruit and strawberries. It had no sweetener but it still tasted refreshing. I would probably add honey to it if I were to buy it. This store is small but there is a vast array of loose leaf teas available to sample, buy, or order to drink in-house. If you order a drink and sit inside, please note, there is very limited seating. There is a section in the middle to smell a variety of teas. I also got to go up front and smell the teas in the containers. I eventually decided to buy a mixture of green tea and ginger because I LOVE ginger. I got home and made a cup of tea and liked it. It isn't my favourite but it isn't bad either. The green tea that I got is light and not too strong which helps. I spent a good 30 minutes inside just asking questions about all the different teas. The person working behind the counter that day was super friendly and helpful even though it was a bit busy. They sell some sweets/snacks up at the front counter. You can also buy tea holders (tea pots) and honey. If you are not a coffee drinker and love tea then definitely stop on in. I'll be back for sure. P.S. I got 5% off my purchase for checking-in with the Yelp app while at the store so that was nice. **** This is my 117th Yelp review overall. 71 reviews for 2018. I am aiming for 100 reviews in 2018.

I love tea and often feel sad at the lack of tea culture in Cleveland. But places like The Tea Lab give me hope that tea culture can exist here. I adore The Tea Lab for their superb selection of loose leaf teas. Whether I'm looking for a wellness tea (like Dandelion Root), a "fun" tea (Sweet Orchid) or an Ayurvedic tea (ancient Indian healing teas), you can find it all here at reasonable prices. Purchasing about 2 oz. of any given tea will be in the $5-6 range, make about 12 cups and will be sealed nicely. They also carry a wide selection of tea pots, steepers and other accessories. If you have a tea lover in your life, this is the spot to find them a gift. My friend recently purchased me an Ayurvedic tea with actual little rosebuds in it - and it was almost too pretty to drink. I love stopping in this location when I can grab a convenient metered street spot. Everything is nearly perfect here, though I wish they had ergonomic seating. The only thing preventing me from using this as a workspace is the hard metal stools. I would LOVE to stay in work here, but the seating is too rough on my bad back. For me, I'll stick to coming in on the fly to browse teas and give them all my money.

I've been trying to make it into The Tea lab for a few months now, and I'd finally ventured in yesterday. Man, oh man. The fragrance that envelopes you once you walk in is so pleasant. I can't believe it. Their prices are also phenomenal. I was blown away by how affordable their prices are. And the choices seem endless. Ever since Teavana closed I needed somewhere to fill my tea desires. With their prices and selection, they're easily better than Teavana. And still carry both tea and honey for all of your needs. While brewing tea fresh in store for you. If I'm correct they have over 100 choices of tea, in all different types. White, green, black, chai. You name it. My wife and I walked out with Moroccan mint and orange grapefruit herbal blend. I was shocked that between getting an ounce of each. We only spent $6. I'd been so accustomed to buying from Teavana that I was expecting to pay $15+. Man never again. It's quality tea. The Moroccan mint is amazing. I can't wait to go back and just start filling my cupboard with teas, and even get a teapot from them. Small businesses forever.

Amazing loose leaf tea that's dirt cheap. Compared to Teavanna or any of those chains, you are getting ripped off at places like that. After you go to the Tea Lab you'll see! Freshest tea, most reasonable prices! Great accessories and selection of white, green, black, herbal teas, seasonal teas anything tea related really. Plus the instructions on the tea satchels are spot on. 20$ in this shop will take you very far! Just go there! Go there, and have yourself a tea like you probably never have had!

My favorite herbal tea place. You can make your own tea mixture. And enjoy a fresh cup of hot or ice tea!

The front is unassuming, and this combo isn't something you see every day, but somehow, it works... or at least, it's interesting enough to give it a shot. I visited the coffee shop side while working nearby (walking distance) at the co-working center (Icon Cowork). I ordered the red eye. Honestly? It delivered. It wired me for days. It was extremely strong and not well crafted (too much, definitely not barista made). But boy did it do its job. While at the coffee shop, I noticed a small menu of other drinks and no baked goods in the case. It just really had the basics. Service was very quick. The barista (who worked both sides of the house) was nice enough, but the vibe was more transactional than inviting. Not rude, just kind of indifferent. The space had enough tables to sit at and very quiet atmosphere. One thing I couldn't ignore was the scent of vape juice hanging in the air. It didn't bother me personally, but I can see how that could be a turn-off if you're expecting more of a traditional coffee shop aesthetic. Of note is that both sides of the business have the same entrance. They're working on dividing the space into two separate ones according to my quick chat with the employee. Currently the coffee shop has no age restrictions while the smoke shop is 21+. Overall? Burning River Coffee is quirky and good for a simple cup of coffee. It's not a textbook coffee shop experience -- it's its own thing. Just don't expect the usual indie-coffeehouse playlist and aesthetic. Expect something unexpected and different.

The location is great to walk to neighborhood shops and restaurants in Lakewood. The friendly staffer really worked her latte magic! She said she always adds a little bit of vanilla to punch up the flavors of the lattes. The coffees were so good. I also appreciated that they used lots of ice....perfectly cold and creamy. The baked goods looked nothing like the pictures on Yelp, but they did have several vegan and gf options. This morning they also had fresh cinnamon rolls.

I was envisioning a chill, slower-paced, comfy, lowkey bar or lounge to have conversations and interesting drinks after dinner with coworkers and friends. Nothing nearby fit the bill except this (genius idea!) place and it was absolutely perfect for the vibe and ambiance of what I was looking for! It was a relaxing, well lit, spacious but still intimate, tidy but still unique area to hang in. I ordered a make it yourself blend of a calming kratom, pineapple juice and raspberry flavor. It was fantastic and the S size in a mason jar was perfect. It tasted a bit like green tea mixed with botanicals and juice. My friend got the blue lotus drink with pineapple juice but it was kind of bland, earthy with only a tiny hint of sweetness. My other friend got a coffee...with lavender syrup because she's bonkers and also was too chicken to try kratom. It wasn't too loud but there was someone playing piano pretty badly (maybe on purpose) that surprisingly wasn't too distracting. We had a great time and I would definitely come back.

I added a little sweetener that they had available (I think raw sugar) and took my tea to go. I got to sample a little Kava and Kratom upon walking in because I had never tried them before. The employee explained what they were to me because I had never heard of them. They are supposed to help with anxiety, stress, and mood. Kava is a root and Kratom comes from the leaves of a specific tree so both are essentially plants. After sampling them, both tasted very bitter to me so I didn't like it which is fine (haha). The Kava had a dirt or grainy texture and the kratom had a lighter but more bitter flavour. The employee did mention to me that both would taste bitter and earthy. I did not order any drinks with them upon sampling them but they sell an assortment of drinks that include Kava and Kratom. Customer service was friendly. If you like Kava and Kratom or want to try it then come visit this Sacred Waters Kava bar in Lakewood. It's not my preference. The male employee working told me that they used to be affiliated with the other Kava bar in Cleveland (North Olmsted location, I think) but they are no longer affiliated with that location as the business partners stopped working together. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 69/150 total reviews in 2024 - 719 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 18 July 2024

It's the only Albanian cafe in Ohio. I visited after hearing about this cafe from friends. Shortly thereafter it really trended on Instagram. AMBIANCE: The cafe is simple and spacious. There are two dining rooms that can serve various customers - high tables for solo guests, tables for two or large parties. Many guests prefer the patio. The location is on a picturesque street with a lot of trees and nature. It's a relaxing experience. In many ways it's just an average cafe - large windows, exposed brick walls, and coffee aroma. I other ways, it's incredibly authentic. Guests watch Albanian soccer or linger on the patio. The combination of soccer and cafe feels very cool and very Balkan. At the heart of the place is a wall with hand carved Albanian art and well recognized Albanian eagle. It's interesting to gaze at these fragments of culture and appreciate the artistry. FOOD: I was surprised by the very budget-friendly bill. I purchased Turkish coffee and two bureks totaling about $12. I did not feel as though Turkish coffee was very authentic - too many grounds, and too acidic. It also did not have the usual awakening effect that I was going for. Bureks are traditional Balkan pastries with cheese and spinach. I selected two varieties and liked them. They were gold, savory, and just right for a light lunch. It was explained to me that bureks are very popular in Albania. The rest of the menu featured various coffees, wine, and small sweet bites. SERVICE: You can start your experience at this cafe by ordering at the counter, sitting down, and paying at the end. The service was great for a casual cafe. The cafe employee was attentive to my needs, checked on small things like my sugar needs. It was evident that most guests are regulars reconnecting with their culture. I enjoyed the bureks, the hospitality, and the location. I had a lovely little lunch at the cafe. I'd probably stop at some point during the summer to enjoy the patio and other coffee selections.
