This place is just the cutest! My husband and I stopped by for brunch and sat in the small patio in front because the weather was gorgeous. We ordered the tuna salad sandwich and the tea room combination which comprised of a small number of choices, we chose a plate of salad and half a smoked turkey and pesto sandwich. Both entrees came with chips. We also ordered freshly baked scones; vanilla, chocolate chip, and lavender (favorite). Of course we also ordered a pot of their ever popular old town spiced tea that went deliciously with everything we ate. At the end we still had some tea left so we ordered a slice of their oatmeal crusted lemon cake that was also delicious. The service was excellent and everyone was very kind and personable. We had our little puppy with us and genuinely appreciated them offering him water. I would absolutely love (and intend!) to come back here to try more from their tea selections and dine inside. read more

Great little spot in Old Town Spring. My wife has been wanting a tea place to go, so we stopped in and gave it a try. Now, first off, I am NOT a tea guy, I am a coffee guy. With that said, I tried their spiced tea, and I was blown away. I loved it, I thought this particular tea was amazing, and rich in flavor. My wife got their small finger sandwiches and lavender scone, which was amazing. She will definitely be back, and I may even stop in for a cup of that spiced tea again. So middle of my workday on a Wednesday and I am passing by Old Town Spring. I decided to treat myself to a nice lunch. What a disappointing waste of money. The place was cute and frilly and the menu selection was small but everything sounded delicious. I chose the tea room combo with a half sandwich and a cup of the soup of the week. The waitress came back to inform me they were out of the soup of the week. The other soup option was Tomato Basil, which I also like. Okay. Black Forest Ham and fig sandwich on artisanal bread. It was wheat bread with decent cuts of ham and fig preserves. Nothing more. It did taste good. The soup- zero flavor. I added some salt and pepper. Nope. More salt and pepper. Well you can only salt and pepper so much flavor into something. I gave up on the soup. The tea, Old Town Tea- I think it was called...was tasty enough if only it hadn't been luke warm. I asked for cream for my tea. They only had milk. It's a tea room! No cream? With tax my ticket was 17.48. I have had much better soup, sammie, and tea at Panera for less money. read more

I recently hosted a baby shower for my sister in law here. Let me just advise everyone who hosts an event here to be sure you have all of the pricing information upfront before paying your non-refundable deposit. The owner claims that she sent me their brochure that explains that you must purchase a meal / tea service for your guests in addition to the deposit. I didn't receive it. She even sent my sister in law an exchange of the emailed between her and I and all it proved was that nothing was said about the requirement to purchase a tea service until 2 days prior to the baby shower. Owner "gave me a deal" by offering to provide scones and Tea for 12.95 a person. That's 1 biscuit and tea for 12.95 a person. It was 2 days before the shower that all of this was made aware to me and I was told by Khindra if that wasn't acceptable that we could cancel the event but that the deposit was non-refundable, and I didn't have time to figure anything else out. The requirement to purchase food from the restaurant was never mentioned over the phone either until 2 days before the shower. Khindra (owner) and I spoke over the phone multiple times back when I paid the deposit. Nothing was mentioned. Even after I made sure it was okay for us to bring in a cake and some custom cookies. Now, I let all of this go. Convinced myself that maybe a file or something just wasn't pulling up on my end because SURELY a professional business owner would make sure that the customer was made aware of these requirements prior to paying a deposit, or at least apologize and make up for the miscommunication on their end. So I shut up and accepted her"deal" because all I wanted was to make sure my sister in law had a great experience with it being her first child.... BUT THEN I am informed that Khindra had the audacity to give her unwanted opinion to my sister in law by commenting that her theme of choice (Peter Pan) was misogynistic and racist? Absolutely unprofessional. All the way around. Just a suggestion, but if you are looking to host an event with a similar ambiance / atmosphere, I highly recommend driving a little North to New Waverly and go to Honey's Coffee. We did my shower there and they are way more reasonable. Had the place to ourselves for a few hours and were not forced to purchase their food, however I highly recommend you try their orange biscuits! You can purchase 3 of them for the price of one of The Tea Kettles glorified biscuits. read more

Stopped by here for lunch today as my mother in law is visiting from England and we didn't fancy a huge lunch from other nearby places. The hostess was charming, friendly and accommodating throughout as we arrived with our 8 month old daughter. She appeared soon after we sat down with a booster seat so that we had a break from holding our baby. Amazing food that arrived quickly. Try the potato soup! I received a quiche with a soggy, uncooked bottom and day old scones that were reheated (and subsequently turned very brown) to appear freshly baked. For several years I have treated a wonderful group of ladies I teach at our church to brunch at a local tea room during the month of December. I had reservations with another tea room however, I found that they had gone out of business three months before our function. I had not been notified of that until I went by and there was no tea room. Now what do I do? I was referred to try out the Tea Kettle Cafe by a friend who had eaten there many times. So I did. We booked our brunch for the first Saturday in December. The owner of The Tea Kettle Cafe was so kind to open up his cafe for us and he made everything wonderful for our group of 22 ladies. The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I did have a concern because most of the ladies were arriving by bus and I was not sure if there was enough room for the bus to drop off and park. There was plenty of room! I would highly recommend this tea room for a small intimate group or a very large group. The food was excellent and the atmosphere is enchanting. read more

I recently attended a baby shower here and I was so disappointed. The service was horrible. The restaurant was closed due to two private events, the baby shower that I was attending and another party in the back. Despite the fact that we were limited customers we received very little service. Whenever we asked questions about which scones or quiches were available for the day the waitress had no idea. She would state that she needed to find out and then disappear for several minutes. I was also shocked that they only had one scone on the menu and told another guest that there was only 1 slice of quiche left. I'm not sure how that was possible since they open at 11:00, which is when our shower was taking place. The entire eating process took the entire 2 hours! Then, they told us they put everyone's bill on one ticket despite the fact that we informed them that we would like separate checks. They came back 1 at a time to collect our tickets which took another 20 minutes. The whole process was so unfortunate since this was a baby shower. I have found a nice gem in Old Town Spring in Spring,TX. Starting with the wonderful welcome as you enter the shop. The service as well as the server were great,The food was both flavorful and well prepared. We chose to have the light afternoon tea service. A full tea service is also offered along with deserts that I am sure are also just as wonderful. The array of choice's included, in the three tiered light tea would be quite comparable to any service that you have at any high end tea establishment. The tea choices were great.( A personal note about there signature tea blend. The Old town spice is absolutely enjoyable to drink. The blend is well balanced and full bodied. A unique blend that I have only been able to find at this establishment. I think it is well worth the drive to purchase some)The price point for any of the tea service's are simply unbeatable for the service that is offer. Janet the general manager is simply a joy to talk to, with her thick European accent, puts me in mine that I am setting in any tea shop in London,which adds to the ambiance of this shop.Richard the owner is the new owner of this shop and has a great focus on the business and a desire, to provide great service and great food to all.
