Bluestone Lane tried to play hard to get with me at the door. I stood there long enough to question…read moremy brunch choice but once I was finally seated, things turned around. I ordered the Aussie iced latte with oat milk, which comes with ice cream. But then my honest, friendly waitress pulls up with freshly made brown butter syrup like she's presenting a plot twist. I tasted the latte before and after because someone else brought it out but listen...that syrup changed the whole personality of the drank!. It went from "oh ok"' to "bihhhh, I'll be back for you." I grabbed a side of pancakes and bacon because I asked my honest waitress about a dish and she quickly gave me her honest opinion which I took. The basic dish was nothing groundbreaking, but also nothing tragic. Honestly, if someone messed up pancakes and bacon, I'd have to call the authorities. With tax and tip, I walked out a little over $20 lighter. These days, that's basically the going rate for breathing in a restaurant, so I wasn't shocked. Overall, service was solid once I sat down from the waitress to the either mgmt or owner that helped her out (I went on a Saturday morning). But that latte? That latte is the reason I'd return. Aussie me up every time!!!!

The food was good, I really enjoyed the wedges. What brought us in was the pancakes! I really enjoyed the blueberry pancakes, not overly sweet and they were soft and fluffy. If you enjoy fit/healthy eating you might wanna give this place a try, maybe it was just an off day for them.

He was very welcoming, got us seated quickly, and even gave me a coloring sheet, which I genuinely appreciated. Unfortunately, our experience with our server, Brianna, didn't match the great first impression. I don't want to speak negatively about anyone, but the service and overall attentiveness could have been much better. We were ready to order when she came over, but instead of taking our order, she told us she was going to greet another table first. She then proceeded to greet not only that table, but another one that had arrived after us as well. About 10-15 minutes later, she finally came back to take our order. What was most frustrating was watching tables that were seated 30 minutes after us receive their food, finish eating, and leave before we did. Throughout the meal, several items we requested were forgotten. I asked for a to-go box three separate times, but it never came. By the time we had already paid, I gave up and just finished my food instead. One thing that also stood out was the interaction after we had paid. She suddenly became much more conversational, chatting and laughing with us after the check was closed. Throughout the meal, we also noticed her laughing and engaging with other tables while we struggled to get basic requests fulfilled. Because of that, the friendliness at the end didn't feel genuine it felt more like an effort to secure a larger tip than a reflection of the service we had actually received. I would have appreciated that same level of attentiveness and warmth throughout our dining experience. Overall, the host made us feel welcome and started our visit on a positive note, but the service unfortunately overshadowed the experience. Because of that, I don't see myself returning to this location.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR A SPECIAL EVENT: The Hawaiian Luau in September 2026…read more A Polynesian themed dinner, drinks, and entertainment sounds outstanding--let's go! Well, it started at 5pm. It's rather hot, traffic is bad, frozen drink machine (pins coladas) got filled at 4:59, it ended at 7:00 (why not start later, run longer, end later?). The buffett at Harrison's had the proper foods for this event, however for $75 per person, it's seriously over-priced. The bars outside had no tiki specials (mai-tai?, zombie? painkiller?) aside from the not-yet-ready frozen pina coladas). The worst part of the bar situation was the exorbitant prices. No-name wine for $23/glass??? Premium wine for $26??? Banquet/plain mixed drinks for almost $30??? That explains the extremely poor customer usage of the bars--virtually empty the entire time. This should tell management something about how they priced things. With reasonable pricing and themed drinks, they could have had a much better guest experience. The band and dancers did a decent job. They were definitely the most authentic part of the event. So, Woodlands Resort, if you were disappointed with the low number of diners and drinkers at the luau, it's the prices that you set that limited your purchases. It's a rich area, but we're not crazy rich.

Service was fantastic with our server (Will) being very knowledgeable and friendly. Drinks and food arrived quickly and were fantastic - the drinks were on point, the food ample in quantity and flavorful in taste. The Fudgy Brownie was divine! Well-done! [EDIT only to correct to "Postino"]…read more I use the one-stars sparingly, I really do. This has nothing to do with the food, as we never got that far in the course of my miserable experience at this location (not sure if it's a chain or not). Walked into a relatively quiet restaurant somewhat later in the evening after strolling a bit in the summer Houston heat around the Woodlands. A couple of people recommended Postino. The issue arose when I asked for a possible menu modification. Specifically, I was trying to avoid GOAT CHEESE on the meatball dish I had my eyes on (which otherwise looked pretty tempting). The server indicated that they probably couldn't do it but I nevertheless requested this... a couple of minutes later the server returned with the bad news. Apparently, it simply had to be served as-is, according to the menu. This in itself wouldn't have got me to the point of writing this review. However, I, incredulous, was kind of laughing (you have to laugh) and said something like "so I can only order exactly what's on the menu, and the kitchen can't do anything different?" (slight paraphrasing, perhaps). There wasn't much further conversation with the server but within about 30 seconds of this exchange, a "manager" stormed over to the table and borderline-abusively shouted "is there a problem?!". This "mini-manager" as I will refer to her, proceeded to inform me that they could NOT accommodate changes because it would "violate the integrity of the restaurant" ... I of course I also found a bit humorous, and in this state inquired further about what sense it made to be so obnoxiously strict for someone just trying to grab a quick bite about 30 minutes before closing. I'm sensitive to the work involved in running restaurants and serving obnoxious customers, but I was NOT rude, obnoxious, or difficult. Just blown away by this treatment. I was then informed by the mini-manager that she was from LONDON which I assume meant I should accept that her cosmopolitan background and (I assume vast and high-level culinary experience) meant that I should shut my trap and stop being so picky. At this point I was compelled to mention that I, too, grew up overseas and was very surprised at this complete lack of flexibility. Within another 30 seconds or so of this dialogue, the mini-manager tipped the menu over on the table and abruptly shouted, "you know what, I'm refusing you service!" That made it all easy from there as we promptly (while laughing, partly out of shock) exited the facility. Huge disappointment and embarrassing in my view for a restaurant that seems otherwise to have maintained a great reputation - and especially so for the fact that service (and people in general) in Houston tend to be kind and accommodating, not typically RUDE or reactionary. I'm encouraging this restaurant to have a look at the service model. I can't say I'll try Postino again the next time I'm in Houston, but I certainly hope it continues to truly earn its 4.5 star rating, 'cause they sure did NOT when I was there this weekend.
