CLT airport A terminal sit-down option. I know that you're realistically never going to be blown away by airport food. But, c'monnnnn. It was something like $13 for a draft beer, and expensive entrees ($24+) for some BS. Also, I totally just wanted a chicken tender basket or something after catching wind of the Wendy's across the walkway, but they didn't even have that. Service was lackluster, they were understaffed for sure. Ambiance is, of course, awful because everyone smells like plane and is tired of hauling their luggage. I ordered the chicken and waffles which was 4 wings (mid) and a hotel continental breakfast style waffle. Just weird. read more

I have to tell you, really agree with my fellow Yelp friends! This is a solid 4 all day long. Even though the place was completely busy, the hostess accommodated us very sweetly and the waitress checked on us a number of times and made sure that we were good to go... So awesome service. It's an airport bar so ambience doesn't matter as much. And the food honestly delivered. Pulled pork with the option of the jalapeños was absolutely fantastic. I saw somebody else complain about the cost of the beer and I would like to say you are at an airport lol. Normal prices. I would definitely come here again next time I'm in Charlotte airport. read more

Ok, yes this is airport food but it was really good. Of course, we were hungry so that probably made a difference, lol. The service was alright. They checked on us several times. The place overlooks the tarmac so no real ambiance. I had the BBQ pork flatbread that was delicious. Hubby had the chicken quesadilla that was just good. The beer choices were pretty good as well. Solidly good food and good service. Grabbed a couple of seats at the bar to get lunch. A couple of staff behind the bar and lots of others working the tables and helping the bar as well. Staff seemed to work well together and helped each other out. My wife got the pulled pork. Good BBQ with lots of toppings. I got the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, a big piece of chicken with fresh cucumber and a good flavor. Moderate spice level. Normal airport pricing, but a good stop with quite a few options. Busy bar with TV's and many tables that can see the TV's too. read more

When I first walked up, there was no one at the take-out order desk, so we went over to the hostess stand. The hostess was very kind and went to look for the woman who was supposed to be handling to-go orders, but she was nowhere to be found, so the hostess helped us herself. Toward the end of placing the order, the take-out attendant finally walked out from the terminal hallway and took my payment. I asked for my burger to be cooked medium rare and to have it made without coleslaw. I was then informed by the manager that they couldn't cook the burger medium rare because they "didn't have the kind of beef that could be cooked like that," which was disappointing but I was told it would be medium well, which was understandable. What wasn't understandable was the service afterward. I had a cash tip ready for the take-out attendant, but she was in such a hurry to hand me my order and return to socializing with the other employees that I couldn't even get her attention to give it to her. When I opened the box, I found coleslaw on top of the burger despite my request, and there was only one napkin included. I had to ask a patron sitting at the bar to grab extra napkins for me, and without any silverware provided, I ended up wiping the coleslaw off the sandwich myself. In addition the bread was hard like it had been heated hours ago, the burger was well done, and cold. It's no wonder....gave me my order was ready in 5 minutes. My husband and I fly American Airlines regularly in and out of Charlotte, and I can confidently say I will not be returning to this location after such a poor experience. There's no excuse for giving people food that has been just sitting around the kitchen. read more

Expensive but what airport eating establishment isn't. I chose The Taproom because it was close to my gate. Glass of wine and a bbq pork sandwich With fries. The sandwich had slaw, jalapeño and an onion ring on it. Found out the barbecue is from the place at the airport that's in the atrium, so I'll be eating there next time! Everything was good, fries were hot and tasty and the wine...was what I expected. The bartender was attentive and was quick to close my tab when I put my card down. Overall a good, albeit expensive trip. read more

Located in Terminal A around gate A5. There is a "U" shaped bar in the middle of the space, and a fair amount of tables scattered theroughout the space. The beer list is predominantly localish craft beers. The food selection is largely typical pub fare (burgers, flatbreads, wings, etc...). I got a patty melt w/onion rings, and a Sycamore Dark Matter (black lager), the food was pretty good, and the server was great. overall, the place was pretty good, but there are alot of great options at CLT these days. read more

When we have a layover in Charlotte, you have to stop at The Taproom!! Met Hunter and Jessica in January 2026 while returning home from WA state. Now we are flying to Miami for a cruise and had another layover. Why not go from gate D6 to A4 for a 9 am beer?? Best crew in the airport. read more

We stopped by again on a layover. Had the BBQ pulled pork flatbread again. It was amazing!!!!! Every bit as good as it was last year. Gooey, luscious, savory and a little sweet with a good crunch from the crust. 5/5. Yummy! It's nice to get real food at the airport. Service was good. They let you sit without rushing you out if you need a place to enjoy your food. Last year they helped us pay quickly when we needed to go. The cost was steep for a personalized flatbread. But everything seems to be marked up at airports. Bustling with lots of patrons. But window looking out in the tarnac seemed like a nice place to relax and plane watch. 5/5. Highly recommend. Worth a stop if you have time. read more

Had a long layover in Charlotte. Saw this place had good reviews and tried it! Sat at the bar pretty quickly. Extremely fast and courteous service! Tried the pulled pork sandwich with onion rings. It was hot, and delicious. BBQ is more tangy and vinegary. Onion rings are pretty standard bar food rings. Drinks were good too. Tried the spiked Strawberry Lemonade as well as the local soda, Cheerwine because, why not. It's like Dr. Pepper but I could drink more of this. Give it a try if you're in NC. It's local and family owned. Otherwise, this place is pretty good! Good vibes. read more

Good spaced and very decent place. It's near A5 gate so was super convenient. Surprisingly enough they served the food very quickly and that was helpful. I got grilled chicken ranch and bacon burger with side salad. I asked for no bacon but it was nice of them to give it on the side as a teoption. It was good quality and tasty. Sufficient seating place so was able to sit and eat comfortably too in the decent place to board the flight quickly. read more

Incredibly over priced. Go to other spots at the airport. Wings and chicken seemed like they'd been fried a while ago and refried when we put the order in. Paper plates which is kinda lame when you're paying more than $20 for a sit down dish. Wings were really bad. The pesto burger was decent, not great but it was fine. The salad was pretty bad. Was in the mood for a burger but had a short layover so walked by this spot and the music and vibe seemed real friendly so I had to do a double take and stop in. Upon arrival at the door was meet & greeted by the hostess Bria with a huge smile and friendly attitude I ended up sitting by the bar started with a few beers along with a bacon cheeseburger; the untapped selection was great wish I could of stayed longer to experience. One thing I do wish was that Bria was my waitress she was so helpful, attentive to all the patrons, approachable just like the other staff members. Next time I'm in NC I know where I'll be getting my next meal read more

Okay - so I was doubtful, because really, is ANY place to eat in an airport not overpriced for sub-par fare? But oh dear Yelpers traveling through the Charlotte airport - if you have a layover, even if you're far from the A gate, it's worth taking the walk down to eat here at the Taproom. The staff was great, you can watch planes take off, and best of all, the food is GREAT for airport food. I'm still thinking about my pulled pork flatbread - so tasty! I didn't even feel over-charged like I usually do at airport spots. My next trip, I might even plan a lunch layover so I can eat here again! read more

For an airport restaurant, the food was exceptionally good. And service was really fast. I was actually surprised! The waitress we had was excellent, she was pleasant, she was efficient, she had recommendations, etc. I was really surprised at the level of service. Of course the ambience is what you would expect in a busy HUB. It's extremely loud there are televisions blaring with different sporting events and people are making new friends. It's very lively. lol If you're stuck at the airport and there's a Taproom available you should stop in and get some grub. read more

Among all the typical airport spots to get a bite and a beverage, The Taproom stands out as better than average. With about an hour between flights on a tough travel day, we stopped in. They had a lot of local beers on tap, which was very nice to see. We shared a flatbread and a salad. The food was just OK. Typical airport pricing. We were seated with a nice view of the outside of several gates, so it was enjoyable watching all the activities that go on outside on the tarmac. read more

We had a long layover in CLT so I looked on Yelp for the highest rated restaurant. The Taproom was good quality food for an airport. I got the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and it was good quality and quantity. The service was pretty quick, but they were inaccurate. I ordered a side salad but they brought fries instead. staff is wonderful. I keep forgetting. I'm at the airport. Will you pay twice as much for your drinks and your food but however, it was worth it when you get the chicken wings the buffalo sauce is hot as the double himself so get a cooler dressing like ranch blue cheese on the side of the glass of water my God see my picture. Food was OK - Was in the mood for a salad but the wait staff sucked - they first told me to seat wherever - it wasnt too crowded. So i sat by one of the tables close to the plane watching window... i just got done eating, they asked me to move since the table was for 4 - so i told them - is there anyone waiting - no... they just wanted me to move. I told them you lost a good customer today - my flight was not for next 2-3 hours, there could be more stuff that i would have consumed but the wait staff was too impatient to wait. First time ever at an airport bar, I was told to move.... ridiculous. I come to CLT often for business, the Tap Room is Tapped out for me. read more

Finally found a decent place to spend some time at CLT! Generally not a fan of the airport and always seem to get delayed here (American Airlines...). Not overly crowded, good service, food is decent, nothing special, beers are good. Out of the way in B but worth the walk. read more

Not bad for an airport restaurant. Maybe my standards are down, but it was easy in, easy out, solid wait staff and food that wasn't high school cafeteria at high society prices. I had the crab cake sandwich and would probably enjoy it anywhere. The fries were pretty decent. The large glass of wine worked well. Would definitely stop again if going thru Charlotte again. read more

The portions are huge and definitely shareable. What makes Rhino special is that it's more than just a deli. It's part neighborhood market, part coffee shop, part beer and wine stop, and part community hangout. They've got local products, grab-and-go snacks, fresh sandwiches, beer on tap, wine, outdoor patio seating, and sometimes even live music. It reminds me of the small independent spots I used to love in the Bay Area around Burlingame, San Mateo, and Palo Alto. Relaxed, local, welcoming, and full of personality. The staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere feels genuinely Charlotte. Not overly polished. Not trying too hard. Just good food, good people, and a place that locals clearly love. When I got to the restaurant I realized they had Pepsi so I did a separate cash order for a drink. I waited roughly seven minutes for my lunch which wasn't bad! The staff were friendly and made sure I had napkins and plastic ware in my bag. And the salad was fresh and delicious. I will grab a meal here again when traveling through Charlotte!

A little flowers, cheery decor, or energy would help brighten the area. Despite the sign encouraging people to order on the app for faster service, most did and it wasn't. I was saddened to see that no sodas were available for the sip club. Also, large cups were not available. Both of these cheapen the restaurant in my opinion. It appeared as if more staff were needed so maybe that was part of the problem. However I heard no apologies, thank yous, or even saw smiles. Customers seemed frustrated and I know this could be a more pleasant e patience with a little more effort.

We got in the line, and soon realized it wasn't moving, somehow the one only person working the cash register was creating a bottle neck, and the 4 other people "working", were in no rush to get the orders through, they didn't jump on the other register or try to assist him, they were just sitting around waiting for the cashier to get the orders in. Once the orders got in, the others were quick to get them made and sent out, but no one seemed to have any sense to help the struggling cashier. I ordered a ham and provolone sub, which once ordered came out relatively quick. But in the end, I realized I had picked the wrong dinner option. The sub was pretty bad, they seemed to really drench the bread with oil, I think? It was very overpowering, and made everything greasy. All of the toppings were slipping out of the sandwich and I could only eat about half of the sub. One because of the flavor, and two because I didn't want that much oil to destroy my stomach on a cross country flight. This definitely has left a bad impression in my mind for any other future visits to Jersey Mikes, and seeing all the other bad reviews on here for this location, I hope someone will take notice and make some changes.

The restaurant is less than half full--four-tops and booths sitting empty as far as the eye can see. Meanwhile, every single traveler is wedged (ironically) into these tiny little two-tops that are about one-third shorter than a normal table. The very people most likely to need space are the ones being denied it. That's the whole reason solo travelers walk into places like this: space, a real table, somewhere to eat and knock out a little work between flights. So I ask politely if I could have a larger table. I'm told they're "for larger parties." I ask if I could sit in a booth. Same answer, delivered in that polite-but-pointed, bless-your-heart Southern tone. Darl'n. It gets better. The other half of the restaurant is even emptier. I ask again. Same answer. Different server. Same script. A small parade of hospitality lemmings. On my way out, the hostess suddenly notices the obvious: empty tables everywhere. She "finds" me a four-top. Moments later, she does the same for another single diner. Then another. Apparently the rules loosen once customers start walking. So: lousy hospitality, a faint mist of condescension, a smashed "wedge" salad that had clearly never met a wedge, and a $22 "therapeutic" cocktail to dull the experience. Airports are stressful enough. The least a half-empty restaurant can do is let people sit at an empty table.

"An airport fit for a Queen" because Charlotte is of course, the Queen City. One of those improvements is this food court that opened in 2019. It's another great restaurant and retail area to enjoy while you're passing through our airport. There's already a food court in the atrium area but this is beyond the E security checkpoint. Clean, open, airy space with several vendors. In the center, a bar area operated by Asheville's Wicked Weed Brewing. Around the perimeter, Auntie Anne's pretzels, Potbelly Sandwich Shop, Shake Shack and the second Bojangles to open in the CLT airport. (Bojangles is based here in Charlotte.) Once I got to the front and placed my order, I didn't even have time to put my straw in my drink before my food was ready. Employees were pleasant, food was good, service was fast despite the unavoidably disgusting number of people that are present at any given time at any airport at any time of day. Shout out to this location. They are doing a great job.

I didn't want to risk getting sick on my vacay so I didn't eat it. But such a waste of $7. They also asked for tip here which is a first for me.

Which made us one of the first tables (we weren't the first!) seated on the Saturday we visited. Post reservation I received both an email and text message confirmation. I even got a 1hr out text that included parking options and an address which was very helpful. The staff here are ALL very kind, knowledgeable and welcoming. The bar seating is intimate but I felt we had plenty of space to eat comfortably. Our plates were also cleared almost immediately after each dish was finished so it never felt crowded. The food was great. At first we were presented only regular menus but when I mentioned to my server that I prefer veggie rolls he went and grabbed me a separate menu that had plenty of options to honor my picky pallet. He was great in both recommending dishes and explaining in detail how things were prepared. Food comes out when it's ready so there was a constant rotation of plates coming in and out. Everything was made to order and extremely fresh. I had a little singular avocado bite sushi and it was to die for. A one bite tease but super worth it. The drinks were tasty and the overall dinner experience was perfect. This was a 10/10 experience for me and I can't wait to come back.
