I don't know why I haven't written a review earlier! I stopped in shortly after they opened today. The first thing I said was that I needed what I was brining in by Saturday. I had my husband's doctoral hood and robe with me as the hood did not have the needed attachments pieces in the back to keep it from sliding off his shoulders. The seamstress took the time to listen to what I needed to have done to it AND watched a video I had that showed how this should work. She watched it again and again and then asked me to text it to her so she could be sure to get it right. In the process of looking over the doctoral hood, she also noticed on the robe some stitching issues on one of the velevet pieces on one of the sleeves. She told me she would also fix that which is so great becaause I had not even noticed that. Later this afternoon, she called to say it was ready! I picked it up and it was perfect! She did an excellent job at both securing the hood so that it would not slide off my husband's shoulders AND she fixed the stitching on the sleeve of the robe. And....the price was very reasonable! If you have any sewing/alteration needs, this is the place to come!

Serious suit sorcery. Our family by and large is a secondhand family. We rarely buy anything brand…read morenew. However, when my son needed a suit for prom and graduation, I wanted to get him something new that could last him a while. However, I have no experience buying suits I have absolutely no idea how to measure one for a suit. Fortunately, Woodland tailoring was recommended to me. We went on a Saturday in April. The place was packed with prom and wedding parties. I was a little dismayed initially, because there were only two gentlemen working and about 30 people in the store. I prepared myself for a wait. Much to my surprise and amazement, the gentleman worked through the line almost magically. After about 10 minutes, it was our turn and it only took a look for him to pull a suit off the rack for my son to try on. No measuring needed he just knew exactly what he needed with a look. That's how you know you are with people who know their stuff! It needed some minor alterations which they do in-house same day!. 30 minutes later, our suit was ready. He threw in a vest and we got a shirt and we were out the door for $210, honestly, that was one of the easiest things we did that day. The lining was left longer than the overlay and it wasn't hemmed to the correct length. As a result, my daughter kept tripping over the dress and ripped it. When I brought the dress to them to show them my concerns, the seamstress blamed me for not trying it on before we picked it up. No one suggested or asked if she wanted to try it on. I brought my dress to A Perfect Fit Alterations, and while they managed to shorten and take it in, they forgot one key component: making sure the zipper would actually zip. Apparently, the zipper was a "little tricky" but promised it would work. Spoiler alert: it didn't. Cue my wedding day - me, several friends, my mom, and a handful of safety pins doing emergency dress repairs. When we emailed afterward, they responded that we "should have called."
