Serious suit sorcery. Our family by and large is a secondhand family. We rarely buy anything brand…read morenew. However, when my son needed a suit for prom and graduation, I wanted to get him something new that could last him a while. However, I have no experience buying suits I have absolutely no idea how to measure one for a suit. Fortunately, Woodland tailoring was recommended to me. We went on a Saturday in April. The place was packed with prom and wedding parties. I was a little dismayed initially, because there were only two gentlemen working and about 30 people in the store. I prepared myself for a wait. Much to my surprise and amazement, the gentleman worked through the line almost magically. After about 10 minutes, it was our turn and it only took a look for him to pull a suit off the rack for my son to try on. No measuring needed he just knew exactly what he needed with a look. That's how you know you are with people who know their stuff! It needed some minor alterations which they do in-house same day!. 30 minutes later, our suit was ready. He threw in a vest and we got a shirt and we were out the door for $210, honestly, that was one of the easiest things we did that day. If you need men's formalwear for any occasion I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Fantastic experience!

Also reworked a blouse that she had fallen in love with but the sleeves were too long and wide. They were tapered perfectly and shortened to 3/4 length per my mother's instruction. The amazing thing is that my mother couldn't get to the shop for a fitting, so I pinned up one leg of the pants to the right length and took along another shirt that had the sleeve style she wanted and that fit her well. They were able to do the rest. And while they were at it, they also re-sewed the hem on the shirt that I took in for comparison. A little pricey but an absolutely professional job with beautiful stitching.

I don't know why I haven't written a review earlier! I stopped in shortly after they opened today. The first thing I said was that I needed what I was brining in by Saturday. I had my husband's doctoral hood and robe with me as the hood did not have the needed attachments pieces in the back to keep it from sliding off his shoulders. The seamstress took the time to listen to what I needed to have done to it AND watched a video I had that showed how this should work. She watched it again and again and then asked me to text it to her so she could be sure to get it right. In the process of looking over the doctoral hood, she also noticed on the robe some stitching issues on one of the velevet pieces on one of the sleeves. She told me she would also fix that which is so great becaause I had not even noticed that. Later this afternoon, she called to say it was ready! I picked it up and it was perfect! She did an excellent job at both securing the hood so that it would not slide off my husband's shoulders AND she fixed the stitching on the sleeve of the robe. And....the price was very reasonable! If you have any sewing/alteration needs, this is the place to come!

With less than a week to homecoming, I knew the chances of having it altered would be slim. Fortunately, I found Ninh Alterations. We are able to make an appointment with only a week before the dance and we had a perfectly altered dress back by Tuesday. Their work was fantastic. The dress fit my daughter perfectly and looked brand new. Alterations are expensive, but the price is completely worth it compared to buying a brand new dress that would not have fit her so well.
