We absolutely adored our afternoon with the Tailored Tea. From start to finish, everything was beyond five stars. I met up with some workers for an afternoon of sipping tea (and spilling tea!). The tea menu was expansive. Luckily the food menu wasn't quite as complex. Our finger sandwiches and our scones were all lovely. The tiny teacups were a perfect touch. The room and decor all tied in nicely to the idea of a proper afternoon tea in a rustic kind of setting. I have a severe nut allergy, and one of the waiters was kind enough to explain the ingredients of every single pastry so that I knew what I could eat. He went above and beyond to make sure he didn't end up with a dead body in his establishment (and didn't have to do the accompanying paperwork as a result of said dead body). My only regret? The Tailored Tea has a cute little shoppe attached. We didn't get to check it out, but I'd love to go back soon!

Some good things: - DELICIOUS food and tea. - The tower set up for afternoon tea is exquisite and looks how it should. Some bad things: - Dirty floors (see photo) and dirty table; ours had crud on it - Dirty/stained menus (see photo) - We were given a table that was completely lopsided and I had to catch my plate before it slid off the table - We sat at our table for nearly 15 minutes before someone came to take our order - Again, we waited nearly 15 minutes for someone to take our bill; we asked for someone who said they will be right out, yet we ended up waiting another 5 minutes I would recommend this place for the quality of food, but not necessarily for the atmosphere or service.

    two types of vegan scones!

The absolute cutest tea place ever!! The staff was so friendly and kind, and accommodated my dietary needs. I am vegan and they made 3 different vegan scones and two vegan tea sandwiches. All I had to do was call ahead and ask! They were so friendly, accommodating and kind. The food was delicious! The two of us split the $30 option and it was more than enough food and we even to take some home. The tea selection was delicious, we recommend the mixed berry. Overall an absolutely adorable place with an easily addressed location, friendly staff and delightful food. What a wonderful afternoon!

Cute, humble, and worth the visit! If you're looking for something to do in Albany, grab yourself a cup of tea here. The owner is a super nice guy and creates a daily menu. He is a great cook and you can tell he is super passionate about the food he serves. He even smokes the finger sandwich deli meats! Had a great time here with a friend recently. Don't miss out on a gem like this. It's really a full experience with the vintage tea cups and sets. Homey and comfortable, with great food!

This quaint tea room will always have a special place in my heart because I take my two daughters to a "tea party" here on my birthday each year. The building is right near the airport, and in a big beautiful old house. Your table is set with china tea cups and saucers - each one with a different design. You can get breakfast, lunch, or an afternoon tea. I got a half pot of the honey chai tea, which was very tasty. If you do not finish your tea, your server will gladly give you a to-go cup. The business is family-owned, and they are incredibly hardworking and nice. There are different scones each day, one sweet and one savory, and they are to die for. Today the options were blueberry (served with jam and cream), and garlic and herb. All the food is made to order, so it may take a bit longer, but it will be well worth the wait. My girls got the animal pancakes with powdered sugar and strawberries. I ordered the breakfast wrap. The side of roasted potatoes were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The wrap had egg, roasted red peppers, cheese and basil. Delicious. And I love when they grill the wrap - always a nice touch. I hear the business has to sell. I hope they sell to someone equally as amazing and hardworking and that it remains a tea room. My birthday wouldn't be the same without Tailored Tea!

The first time I order a burger at someplace new to me, I always skip the sauces and condiments, so I can taste the flavor of the beef and the toppings. It certainly comes through here! Despite being cooked well, the beef flavor was strong, and the patties remained juicy. I wish they offered Swiss cheese as another possible topping. The fries are not my favorite. I do enjoy crisp fries, and these indeed are. The first few, while still hot, were tasty. But there comes the question, "Can fries be too crisp?" For me, these would be a "yes." While I appreciated the crunch, these were beyond the point where you still have the fluffier texture inside. They almost felt like french-fry shaped potato chips. They're also very filling. One serving could easily satisfy 3 people. I'll want to visit again to try one of their chicken sandwiches. And I saw on one of their signs that they carry Jane's Ice Cream, something I haven't had for a while. Bottom line: I'd come here for a burger or a chicken sandwich, but I'd be likely to get a side elsewhere in the building.

Yes, the food was delicious and plentiful, but connecting with Yelpers was one of the biggest highlights of that event. So, I know it's taken us long enough to come back but it was truly better late than never because they did not disappoint. It was within an hour of closing but the place was buzzing both with folks dining in and a constant stream of orders from online and in store. We settled on their brisket sando and three sides - pit beans, mac & cheese, potato salad. The brisket was tender and juicy, potato salad wholesome and egg-y, pit beans sweet and spicy, and m&c mac & cheesy. While they don't have French fries, they have homemade kettle chips which I'm generally not enthused about but the ones here had a softer finish and I rather enjoyed them. Oh, and an honourable mention is due to the comfy chairs which are extremely hard to come by in restaurants. One minor (but non-negligible) gripe was the rather long wait before we could place our orders because the staff right in front of us insisted on packing a big online order AND serving the folks picking them up drinks before we could put our orders in. I personally would have taken the order of someone in line especially since there was no one behind us, so that the kitchen staff can start filling our orders while the staff at the register can return to finishing packing the pickup order. We'll go back. It's cool to see a local family business going strong after two years, and I feel like whoever is behind the venture managed to create something extra ordinary.

My wife brought me here as a surprise night out, and we had a good time…read more The Good: - very tasty barbecue that they cook/smoke/roast on site. I had the brisket, the pulled pork, the baked beans, and the mac & cheese. The brisket was perfect and served with sauce on the side. Lots of great spices, tons of flavorful smoke, not too mushy, not too fatty. - The beans were phenomenal with tons of flavorful pork bits inside. I wish I could make them that good at home, but I don't access to the BBQ scraps that they have. The mac and cheese was dense and creamy, and the pasta was not at all overcooked. I really appreciated this. The Bad: - seating is limited, and it is quite likely during a busy time you will get your food before a table is open. Why do they limit the number of tables they have when there is space for more? That doesn't make sense. - the pulled pork was just meh. It tasted flat, the texture was pure mush, and the color was a bit odd. Frankly, I make it better at home. This reminded me of crockpot pulled pork with a bit more smoke flavor. It too was served sauce on the side. - when our food was served it was covered with complimentary red pickled onions. Yuck! Apparently they sometimes ask in advance but they might forget when busy. Thankfully, since they didn't ask and made the wrong assumption they were willing to remake my plate without onions. - no cheap drinks. No cheap anything really. Imported soda, exotic Fiji brand water, etc. Their prices are very high for some things. They make great food, but you might get hit with $25/person or more before the smoke settles. Was it worth it? For some stuff yes, and for other things no. We had a good time, and I know better what to focus my order on in the future. But to go at dinner time when there might not be a table to enjoy your food is a real bummer.

The Chicken was absolutely delicious with lots of mushrooms and flavorful sauce. The meatballs were enormous and more importantly tasty. The only dish I wasn't entirely pleased with was the antipasto. I was envisioning whole chunks of cheese, olives, peppers and rolled cold cuts. Instead it was finely chopped cold cuts and American cheese on a bed of oily greens with a few pickled vegetables. Alas, I don't have any pictures! Well, at least we kept our word today when we ordered their two different bowls for takeout. My wife ordered the Fishbowl ($30) with the grilled fish of the day (salmon), cherry tomatoes, quinoa, feta, peaches, arugula, and basil lime vinaigrette (she said no to onions). She could not get over how tasty the quinoa tasted and wondered how they prepared it. She also thought the peaches could have been a little sweeter since we are in prime peach season. While the salmon was just slightly overcooked we'll attribute that to it continuing to cook as we drove the meals home. Even with those minor negatives, she said she would definitely order the dish again. I chose the Poke Bowl ($35) for my meal (my first ever poke bowl) with marinated raw tuna and salmon, edamame, cucumber, watermelon radish, snap peas, nori, avocado, sesame seeds, scallions, and pea tendrils, all over sushi rice with ginger gochugaru oil and soy sauce on the side. This was absolutely delicious. It was a wonderful blend of fresh flavors and textures.
