Great service and great food for a great price! We ordered 6 carbs asada tacos for lunch and couldn't be happier with the decision

Excited to check out this new taco spot in Franklin, now in the former WillCo Fusion Grill location! According to my LA raised boyfriend, it's hands down the best authentic street taco spot in Williamson County and after trying it, I can see why. We split the quesabirria tacos, which were perfect for sharing because there are 3 fully loaded with savory, flavorful beef and melty cheese. They also came with a generous portion of rich birria dipping sauce plus both red and green taco sauces. Everything was packed with flavor. Next time I definitely want to try the birria pizza because it looked incredible coming out to other tables. Ordering and food delivery are a bit more self-service style, which was easy enough. The space itself could use a little refreshing or modern decor, but the food more than makes up for it! read more

This taco spot is fantastic. The food is really good and the options they have are great, plus the salsas they give you are extremely flavorful. I would only point out that the 4/5 stars are for the issue they had of not having enough workers or enough structures internally to handle the amount of customers they had. So while ordering the cashier needed to leave multiple times just to help out with orders. OVERALL though, it's a fantastic spot for authentic Mexican food. read more

We stopped here for dinner on the early side. Order as you enter and then find a table. Staff was friendly and helpful. We just had water to drink and the cups are pretty small, especially given some of the items have some spice to them, but not a deal. Note that by the time we departed it was full on a week night so plan accordingly. I'm guessing weekends would be pretty busy. The menu has a real variety of choices, from street tacos to Pizza to Birria Ramen. I went with the QuesaBirria Burrito and we got some Queso and chips for our group to share. Food came to the table pretty quickly but not so fast that it felt like it's just sitting around. The food was fresh and hot. Queso was good and actually pretty warm. Not sure how they manage to keep it so warm in the those styrofoam cups but it stayed nice and dippable. The burrito was delicious! Nice tender Birria meat, cheese and onion inside a crispy tortilla, accompanied by the consommé for dipping. (again the dipping consommé arrived hot and stayed hot!). Really good! But it was a lot of food and I have brought half home, can't wait for lunch today,,,, Others had tacos, a child's cheese quesadilla which looked really good! Fantastic. I'm a fan now flavors are very good. I like they include limes and that everything seems to be homemade. Restaurant is clean and a good amount of seating including some outdoor. Service is swift, but maybe a little abrupt. All in all, a good choice. read more

Went on a Saturday night around 7:20pm. It was very busy. When we ordered they told us our wait would be about 20-30 mins. We received our food at about 7:50pm. The tables were dirty and the trash was overly full. There were several take out orders being picked up while we waited. They close at 8pm. Our carne asada tacos were delicious! I didn't love the chips and salsa. My daughter said the beans were a bit watery & the rice wasn't very fluffy/soft. We weren't sure if it is typically like that or if it was an off night. It seemed like they didn't have enough people working which was causing the long wait. If the wait wouldn't have been so long & if the tables/inside had been clean I would have given it a 4 read more

Wow! Great street tacos in Franklin/Cool Springs!!! Stopped in for lunch and so glad we did! Their chips and salsa are good! It's a chunky salsa that's mild. If you like spice - their table red and green salsa is amazing! Quesobirria tacos are a must! Generous portion and that consume could be eaten on its own. It's so good! We tried the Carne Asada, Al Pastor and Carnitas tacos and all were delicious! Each taco was filled with a generous portion of meat and topped with fresh cilantro and onions! The Taco Shop is in the old Wilco space. My daughter and I ate there for lunch today and it was every bit as good as I'd heard. We shared queso and chips and both of us got the Birria Tacos. It was a lot of food and I could only finish one delicious taco and am bringing the other two home to enjoy tonight. That dipping sauce is AMAZING!!! We also shared a flan cheesecake. 5 Stars! The food was delicious! I enjoyed both items that was purchased. I loved how they crisped the burrito which gave it a Baja feel to the food. I also appreciated the amount of meat that was in both items (burrito and the birria pizza). Both items were well seasoned and full of taste! The staff was kind! We came in at a rush hour and I could tell that the workers were being efficient with getting orders out as quickly as possible. The ambiance was a beach feel. I would be interested to see if they lean into this feel! Since this is newly opened, I can tell that they are still working at getting the interior together with decorations and personalizations to The Taco Shop. We just tried The Taco Shop in Franklin and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Quesabirria Tacos, and they were incredible--crispy, cheesy, and loaded with perfectly seasoned shredded beef. The rich beef consommé for dipping was divine and took them over the top. Honestly, some of the best tacos in Williamson County. We also had the shrimp taco with cabbage and chipotle mayo, plus a street taco with beef, onions, and cilantro, and everything was fresh and full of flavor. Holy Breakfast Taco!! Just had both steak and a chorizo breakfast taco and these folks know taco ingredients! At $4 a pop I feel like I hit the taco goldmine. Wilco used to be at this location and it appears they left in a hurry and The Taco Shop moved in right away... A few days later my wife brought home the Birria pizza which I feel could easily feed 4 and was great. It comes with consommé but I will most likely get some queso dip to dip my pizza next time. I enjoy eating at the taco shop. They have the best burrito Ramen that I've had in Tennessee.

Growing up on both sides of the border, I am constantly on the hunt for authentic Mexican food. The taco shop is very authentic. We had tacos de carne asada, Al pastor, birria de res, as well as mulitas de chorizo. The carne asada (steak) was sliced thin, easy to eat, flavorful, without being too salty. The al pastor(marinated pork with pineapple) was tender and moist, Also perfectly seasoned. The best, however were the Mulitas de chorizo(Mexican sausage). Two corn tortillas cooked to perfection stuffed with Mexican cheese and chorizo. Fantastic flavor and texture. Reminded me of the authentic queso fundido served in restaurants of Mexico. I was so excited to try this place and left completely disappointed. Got a to go order - build your own tacos: carnitas, cheese, avocado, salsa verde and cilantro. Literally one piece of cilantro, no salsa verde, avocado was hard. Side of chips and guacamole. Chips were fine. Guacamole was just chopped up avocado (not mashed) with a few tomatoes and onions. No seasoning at all. Birria ramen which I was most excited for was alright. A little too salty and again, they forgot the cilantro. I was given some lime slices with my tacos which I tried to use for the ramen to cut some of the salt but unfortunately they were dry. Then the biggest issue... i could forgive everything above/ give the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was just a busy night but I ordered a side of tortillas to dip into the ramen and one bite in and my mouth was filled with an intense chemical taste. Best guess is it was some sort of spray cleaner. So here's hoping I don't get sick. I don't normally write negative reviews but seeing as I paid $40 and ate straight up chemicals.. just wanted to put caution out there to anyone considering trying this spot. read more

My daughter got us food to go from the Taco Shop for the first time yesterday and it is as good as the Mexican food from when I lived in San Diego! I ordered a burrito and made it a grande which lasted me three separate meals. I had a carne asada burrito that included bacon and it was fabulous. My daughter ended up getting us a couple sides of guacamole, some chips, rice and beans, while she had the "pizza" which she loved. The portions here are huge. The only downside is that they are closed on Sunday, so we celebrated Mother's Day on Saturday night. I guess the Murfreesboro location is open on Sundays but that location is not convenient. We are not fans of Tex-Mex (which this is not), so this really hit the spot. It tasted of authentic Mexican west coast style. read more

A hot mess! Rude cashier, tried to pick up my order and was told she did not anything for me, so I was checking my phone and she handed me an order. Came 5/2/26 at 6:30 PM. Place was busy, but not overly so. We got seated right away and ordered fairly quickly. Food came out no more than 10 minutes later, but was probably closer to 8 minutes. Order the pizza birria that comes with two cups of consommé and limes. Absolutely fabulous. There was a person working both the front order section and helping clean tables. Has more of a fast food vibe, however, the food I was superior to any fast food I have ever had. Pizza Birra can easily be split between two to four people and is well worth it as a value. Wanted to try the cheese and pepper tamale, but they were sold out. Will come back. I am told their lunch and afternoon times are slower and a good time to try them out. I don't think this place has been open a full year yet, so they are still a little rough around the edges in overall operations so, please, give them a little grace. This is exactly the kind of small local business that need to be supported by the community. We definitely will be back soon. Have to try the tamales and some other things next time. Going to be hard to beat the pizza birra though. read more

They both were so packed with meat and cheese (and veggies for the fajita one), that they were truly pizzas and not quesadillas.
