Enjoying good food and good company at The Taco Joint

Totally exceeded our expectations! Delicious, fairly priced, great atmosphere, and great service! We were impressed with the menu, cleanliness, and furnishings. It is spacious and thoughtfully arranged. This was our first time dining at The Taco Joint, but we hope to return soon and often!

I've been going here once or twice a week for breakfast for about a month. It's high time for a review. They serve very good breakfast tacos (full size, not street tacos) loaded with egg/cheese/meat with 3 salsas to choose from for topping. Prices are more than competitive, service is fine (they usually arrive at my table within 5 minutes), and very nice ambiance (definitely not a hole in the wall place). Today's bacon/egg/cheese att'd

This is a great fast casual place to grab a bite to eat. The decor of 80s posters and album covers gives you plenty to take in as you enjoy your meal. The counter service was friendly and the food came out fairly quite for a busy lunch time.

Dr. J's Chips & Queso!

My husband had a dentist appointment down the street from here and we searched on my Yelp and this place caught our eye, cause who doesn't love some good tacos!? We walked in and we're instantly greeted by the guy behind the cash register. The place already had a few people in line and a couple tables already taken, which is a good sign for 1030 am. We took our time scanning the menu and decided on Dr. J's Chips and Queso (I think that's what it was called), 2 brisket tacos, 1 Spicy Fried Chicken Taco, and 1 Spicy Grilled Shrimp Taco. We made them 2 Taco Combo Plates which saves you a couple bucks and adds rice and beans plus a slice of avocado and some lettuce and tomatoes on the side and also a drink. We found our seat at the back where we could really enjoy all the decor and also be tucked away from the front. Not long after our chips and queso was brought out and maybe 3 min after that our main food arrived to our table. Definitely fast service. Now for the tacos, the brisket taco was good but it was missing some pizazz, not sure what but I would have loved some other goodies added to the straight brisket and corn tortilla, but it wasn't bad. But man oh man, the spicy grilled shrimp taco was soooo good! It was a flour tortilla stuffed with flavorful shrimp and all the goodies!! I'd definitely get it again! And the rice and beans were a great addition and really topped the meal off. We are always looking to going back soon to try some more tasty options.

My partner found this place and wanted me to try it. It's located right across from Flying Fish(another place I want to try). I ordered chips and jalapeño ranch, Friday special 2 fried shrimp tacos and tortilla soup. He ordered 1 grilled shrimp taco and 1 grilled fish taco(Cod). The person who rang us up wasn't very friendly, but maybe, he's not a morning person or going through something. My fried shrimp was ok, but I really liked the grilled shrimp one and also, I wish they use corn tortillas for tacos, but maybe, that's Tex-Mex way then? IDK. The tortilla soup was ok, but my partner liked it and I really liked the jalapeño ranch. It kind of reminds me of Fuzzy Tacos, especially inside. It was a good experience over all to be able to try it, so I could write a review about it.

The avocado and sour cream that come on the quesadillas

The food was good the meat made the quesadilla a bit soggy but very yummy over all. The service was 10/10 the cashier was very kind and patient. The ambiance was calm and the joint had good music playing.

After a long and patient wait, Taco Joint in Plano is finally open!!! By the looks of the lines and filled tables in the dining room, I wasn't the only one who'd been ready for my favorite Lakewood neighborhood taco shop to arrive closer to home. My running group regularly visits the Lakewood location and I love the neighborhood feel, casual vibe and really good food. I'm happy to report the Plano location delivers the same experience. Yes there are kinks in service and equipment they're still working out. They've been open less than two weeks as of the writing of this review. But those are so minor and everything else is so great that I can't take any stars away. * Breakfast tacos are epic. Have them. (And you can have them anytime of day because the breakfast menu never closes.) * There are daily lunch specials. * Get your own salsa from the 3-sauce bar. The tomatillo is my favorite. I can't wait for the trails to get connected once the Collin Creek development finishes. This will be a wonderful place to meet up with friends after a walk, run or ride.

The Picoso Burrito Combo with Fajita Chicken

So me and the wife were out in Plano and had a few hours to burn so we decided to stop off at the taco joint. When we walked in, there was no line and we were able to order immediately. It took about 5 to 7 minutes for the food to come out. I had the picoso burrito combo with chicken and my wife had a brisket taco combo. I remember the burrito had chicken and cheese inside as well as onions and topped off with queso cheese. Your tortilla was pretty thick and hard, but the burrito was still pretty tasty. The Salsa bar was good too, try out that Jalapeño ranch. I would come back to try out more of their wide variety of tacos and salads.

First time at Taco Joint. We ordered 2 combos which came with a drink that we didn't need since we ordered adult beverages. I recommend ordering a la carte. Service was pretty fast too. They did get my order wrong which I didn't really notice until it was too late. I actually liked what I got better. So all good. Nice place with an outdoor patio in back overlooking the parking lot. Great addition to the area.

It's just Taco Bell at a premium. It's Tex Mex so it's not an authentic taco shop. The sauces are all weirdly sweet with no spice. Mid

The quesa birria was good but I did find the beef itself a bit tough. Otherwise the flavor and taste are good and the consommé was one of the better ones I've had. It even comes with some pieces of meat and chickpeas which is nice. I definitely want to go back and try more things. Do note that the tacos are more like street tacos so they are pretty small which might be justified by the low price!

Overall, I think the tacos were good, but they were a bit greasier and saltier than the other traditional taco places I love. Ambiance: The restaurant is a casual counter order place. Once you order the staff will bring the food to you. There were plenty of tables. Food: The menu was pretty expansive and inexpensive. They had tacos (over 7 kinds), tortas, tostadas, gorditas, and gringas. I ordered 5 carne asada fajita tacos for myself. These tacos were TINY. I can probably eat like 8 if I were super hungry. I love my tacos with a splash of lemon, and some cilantro and onion paired with them. The onion and cilantro were freshly chopped and fresh. Service: The service was quick and the staff were nice.

Tacos, Tacos, Tacos…read more... How do I love thee... let me count the ways.... I love you with fajita steak, shredded chicken... al pastor, and with shrimp... Being Mexican, having had an unhealthy share of street tacos in Mexico... I'll tell you that it doesn't matter if you like it or not. This is one of the closest taco spots in the area to hit close. I mean this in the most sincere way possible... If you are wanting tacos from a place where a kid from a Chick-Fil-A store or commercial is taking your order, and all of the food choices are combination of about a dozen ingredients slopped together by someone who seriously thought a GED was "Good Enough" by the company behind Pepsi (cough Taco Bell) then this place isn't for you. I like my steak where the recipe to the chicken, pork, and steak isn't "cut bag open and place in warming bin idiot". All jokes aside this place is pretty legit. It's authentic enough where I'm pretty sure I was the only native English speaking person there, including the customers. But not so authentic that there was a cows head in a pot. This place has twisted my arm for all of my Taco money. While you transparent folk are going after the latest version of the Doritos Locos Tacos that's largely corn and recycled Chinese newspaper I'll be here.

And loved their bacon and egg tacos and their tamales also had a good amount of meat in them.. this will be a regular visited place of mine now. This place is elite
