Me and my coworkers drive from McKinney to the Allen location and eat at this Torchy's multiple times per week for lunch. The tacos are always LOADED and delicious. The food comes out super fast and always tastes good. There is enough variety to always keep coming back. The staff; Kylie, Leslie, & Mira are always so kind to us and thats what keeps us coming to this location over the McKinney one. We love this Torchy's! read more

So... I have been a loyal Torchy's fan for years (like this used to be THE high school hang out spot for my friends and I almost a decade ago) and the big tipsy bowl has become my new favorite menu item. But for the past two takeout orders, they have forgotten the bacon bourbon marmalade, which is one of the selling points of the bowl (and also my favorite part). Without it, it's comparable to a Chipotle bowl. And Torchy's has never been comparable to Chipotle ever (in a good way). I pick up orders after work, and I get it's rush hour, but the service I get if I tip versus if I don't is a bit jarring. Not to mention how magically the food quality gets better (more cut up trailer tenders, included bacon bourbon marmalade and sauces, etc.). The app already charges a service fee, so I make it a point to do a heavy tip at the end of each month and not each order. But with how inconsistent the experience already is, I have no clue if tipping each order would resolve anything. Anyway. I love Torchy's too much to just flat out stop coming here. Green Chile Queso was yummy! Could have been hotter. This is my favorite menu item. My brushfire taco was really bad today. The worst one I have ever had at any Torchy's. The meat was COLD and DRY. The taco was very disappointing. I wanted to cry because it wasn't good at all. I really should have sent it back. Service was good. Ambiance was good. I think the queso is the best thing on the menu. I might just stick to that. I left unhappy and hungry. This was not a good visit. read more

I know it is weird to review a franchise. I have eaten at many Torchy's and never felt compelled to review them. This one was so impressive. First all, we dined during a busy lunch time, the line was pretty long, but the food arrived in less than 3 minutes. This place is a vibe. Great happy hour specials, a creative large variety of tacos in a very cool atmosphere. What more could you want? Service here was swift and helpful, we had a few questions about the best way to get the most bang for our buck and they were happy to answer and accommodate us. The food came out relatively quickly and all the tacos we tried were delicious. Stand outs for me were the hogfather and trailer park -- plus the fried avocado which was vegetarian. The cashier was excellent; very kind and welcoming. We came in at 10 am and we received our food within 5 minutes. We ate queso and chips, the Fo Sho taco and the Wrangler taco. They were out of corn relish but subbed regular corn. The food was on point with the flavors. You can eat the taco with a fork like I did or roll it up like my husband did for his breakfast taco. What the what! No stop in Allen is ever complete without at least visiting here one time. We got a margarita our first visit but would recommend sharing one(even though they are small) as they are strong! Staff is quick to refill those chips for the must have queso dip. During peak hours, service is slow which is perfectly understandable. The monthly specials are always entertaining and my husband I look forward to them. That being said, despite the positives, Torchys recently made the decision to get rid of the Nookies, which is basically the only reason I chose Torchy's over other taco places. It's a shame but there are other places that are cheaper since the main differentiator for me was the dessert. (Additionally, I love the frozen margaritas but the flavors available or even the availability of a frozen margarita in general changes more often than I'd like.) read more

The taco's were good but I felt something was missing... they also forgot the sauces for the tacos but no biggie, I had my fav liquid gold queso to put as a topper. Definitely not a dieting day! Our family has eaten here for years. Their food and service has been consistently good. I would like to see a vegetarian "taco of the month" now and then. That would be fun! The staff is lazy, we watched a worker walk over a piece of trash several times. Saw it and kicked it aside, then a second worker walked over it as well. The lock on the bathroom door was broken and I got locked in the bathroom. I started beating on the door for someone to help me. There was about 4 workers close to the bathrooms and my husband said they looked at the supervisor and pointed to the bathrooms. Come to find out they knew the lock was messed up and still were letting people use the bathroom. That lock should have been fixed before letting people in and getting locked in. Huge disappointment today, worst Torchy's I've ever been to. Will not go back!! If you want Torchy's I'd suggest find a different one. The staff here is lacking in integrity. read more

I went a few days ago around 2 pm. We used to live in Allen and I was happy to visit one of our favorite places. But I was really disappointed with the condition of the restaurant. Not authentic tacos, more like gourmet tacos. Nothing traditional, not bad but not the best. I was kind of disappointed in the size of tacos for the price. Each taco runs between $4-$7...each. Flavor and taste were ok, would try again dining in. The queso on the other hand, amazing. It's possible to go orders don't have the same presentation as dining in. We ordered breakfast tacos with chips and queso (without the Diablo sauce). The queso was delivered almost immediately and tacos a few minutes later. Everything was made to our specifications and steaming hot. To my delight they have diet Dr Pepper in their fountain. Our local location does not have my drink. Tacos are fantastic. Everything is fresh. Baja shrimp was my favorite. The sauce that came on the side was creamy and delicious. Also got the brisket taco which was fantastic and loaded with meat. Soft drinks with the best kind of chewable ice. My mom got the chicken fajita taco and she said it was the best taco she's had in a very long time. We got free chips and Queso with my sisters reward program and the chips are thin and warm- which are perfection. The Queso is also delicious and slightly spicy. We have been going to Torchy's for several years, mostly the one in Richardson and Allen. About a year ago we went to the one on 380 in Frisco and ordered the same thing we usually order. All 8 or us agreed that something changed. Every item tasted very different, and not in a good way, from all of other times we ate at Torchy's.. The manager said recipes were all the same. Many of the 8 of us are food people and worked in the industry for years. We knew something was very different. We have a series of guest visiting almost non stop from next week into the holidays. For all of them it is the first time to Texas. Torchy's would normally be a must to add to the list of things to do. Today, because of the last experience, felt we the need to make a recon mission to the Allen location to see if it tasted like the Frisco one or like Allen originally tasted. Unfortunately, it was not like it used to be. Allen was better than Frisco but something changed in a bad way. We deliberately ordered things we knew well. Not one tasted the same. I hope Torchy's undoes what they did, because this would be the start of a downhill slope for them. The service, as always, was excellent. I have not complaints there. read more
