Outside sitting courtyard

I loved that it had a beautiful courtyard to sit and eat. Service was great she did a great job of describing the items and what was on them . These were the most unique tacos ever. I really loved their tortillas which texture wise was kinda of like a pita pocket but different. I absolutely loved all the flavors and the freshness of all the ingredients. Would definitely come here again for a quick lunch or supper. Bonus they offer Kristi's Kocktails which are delicious and if it's really hot there is a Dels lemonade next door.

"Street Corn Taco" (flame roasted corn, black beans, charred sweet mild chilies, avocado, lime garlic mayo)

The Box East Bay is a gourmet taco stand that opened in Warren, Rhode Island in June 2019. It was founded by Matthew King. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, King has 35 years of experience working for a major contract food service facility that focused on the leisure and entertainment segment. Eventually he decided that he wanted to be his own boss. King came up with an idea to develop food trailers that can convert to multiple concepts. For his first project, he intended to sling pizzas on his Italian-made wood-burning oven. His girlfriend convinced him to focus on tacos instead. King's tacos were essentially a hybrid between traditional street tacos and Neapolitan wood-fired pizzas. All tortillas are handmade by himself with a mixture of wheat flour and corn. He converted a vintage former horse trailer into a retrofitted food stand outfitted with a removable wood-burning oven. King cleared out an area on his front lawn to permanently park the trailer. The operation was dubbed "The Taco Box" when it first opened, but by July 2022 it was renamed "The Box East Bay" to reflect its growing menu. My family and I visited The Box this past August while we were driving back home from a week-long trip to Cape Cod. We stopped along the East Bay Bike Path in Warren for a bathroom break and to grab some frozen lemonades from Del's. We looked across the street, saw The Box and thought that some street tacos would make a delicious lunch. We had no idea what we were in for. The food stand is surrounded by a beautiful garden and some picnic tables for customers to sit at. We started off with a plate of "Chips & Pico with Guacamole": something quick to get our appetite going. Then my wife and I ordered the "Shrimp Taco" (wild caught Gulf of Mexico shrimp, red onion, shredded cabbage, cilantro, lime vinagreta) and "Street Corn Taco" (flame roasted corn, black beans, charred sweet mild chilies, avocado, lime garlic mayo) to share as well as a "Cheese Quesadilla" for our son. We were shocked when we received our tacos. Not only were they huge but they resembled Neapolitan pizzas more than tacos. We folded them in half and ate them like a taco. The tortillas were crunchy and charred on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside. These tacos were spectacular; just busting with flavor from the fresh ingredients (some of which were grown right in the garden). We are so happy that we discovered The Box by accident and would definitely stop again the next time we find ourselves in Warren!

Cute side street taco truck with amazing food!

This is the best find. Unlike any taco I've had. Freshness is quality. Mexican Sweet corn taco with great toppings. Fresh ripe avocado, lime is so amazing. The taco box is a retro food truck, permanently at this spot. It's definitely delicious. Sit or take home and they have cute T's just in case you don't want to forget where you had those amazing tacos!

It has been another tasty season of enjoying the Taco Box. We have become regulars at this amazing food truck, and I can't speak highly enough of their amazing staff and of course delicious tacos! If they have their nacho taco special, I highly recommend it! Otherwise, this year I have enjoyed the carne asada taco and of course Jarritos mango to drink. Their tortilla dough is the best, and they make some of their sauces in house as well. Absolutely hands down one of our favorite places to eat period!

A permanent food truck with cheap prices, AMAZING food (unique, too!), and a cute-as-a-burrito setting (Burritos are cute, don't @ me)? Look no further than the lil' wonder that is The Taco Box, which serves up awesome Mexican food with a twist just steps away from downtown Warren, RI. When I say "with a twist", I mean that the Quesadillas and Tacos are served not on tortillas, but on doughy carb concoctions that would feel more at home in a pizza parlor than a taqueria. My boyfriend got a chicken/bean quesadilla, and it tasted like a remarkable hybrid of a calzone and its Mexican namesake. I was impressed, especially with the fresh tomato salsa served on the side for dipping. Not sure if this was a riff on the traditional calzone presentation with marinara, but it was bangin'. As for me, I went with a Taco Bowl, which was a wonderfully filling create-your-own concoction, starring their flavorful and meaty adobo chicken, with a supporting cast of roasted corn, pickled peppers, melty mozzarella, and an addictive green chile sauce. Ask for extra sauce, or help yourself to the wide variety of dressings available at the rustic wooden condiment station. PS: The peppers are complimentary, and not to be missed! They added a nice acidic note to the bowl, and kept it all from tasting too heavy. I also washed it down with a lovely and refreshing glass of hibiscus iced tea, but if you're a soda person, you'll want to grab a glass-bottle Coke from the vintage soda cooler. It's little details like that which make the Taco Box remarkable. From the retro mint green color scheme to the limited but cozy seating on mismatched picnic tables and old-school garden chairs, it's definitely Instagram friendly. Oh, did I mention that the Box itself is a converted horse trailer? Not only do they get points for the yummy eats, but also for creativity, and an all around hip and funky aesthetic. And the prices! My goodness! For both of us - a quesadilla and the chicken taco bowl plus a drink each, our total was $20. Not bad for a night out - and for our anniversary, too. Best one ever! Service is brisk, but the food is more than worth it. You'll wait a bit for the food, so don't come hangry, but everything is prepared fresh to order, so each bite is filled with homemade goodness that you can taste. I am apprehensive to share the fantasticalness that is The Taco Box with the huddled masses, but it's almost too phantasmagorical to keep it a secret!

What a great concept! Who doesn't want tacos and these "New England" tacos as they referred to them were great. This is not your traditional food truck, mostly because it is a horse trailer. They drop the back gate and roll out the wood fired cooking oven on it. It is a simple menu, but hits all the areas you need; Beef, chicken, shrimp and veggie. We started ( yes started) with a side order of chips with salsa and guacamole. The chips weren't homemade but they were quality chops and the salsa was great. We then tried a Carne Asada Taco and a Shrimp Taco. The Carne Asada was not the traditional skirt steak but big cuts of what looked like tri-tip. The sauce was amazing and the flavor of the bread/shell when it comes out of the oven bring this to another level. The shrimp taco had big pieces of gulf shrimp on it. The sauce and condiments they used on this was great as well. We couldn't leave well enough alone and went back and got a Chicken Taco and a Carne Asada Quesadilla. These didn't disappoint either. The chicken had a great flavor and again the sauce was killer. The Quesadilla was basic, but basically awesome. It was meat and cheese melted in the oven on their bread and folded in half. It comes with a side of salsa (add it to every blessed bite) and enjoy. I will definitely be back!

This is still one of our favorite places to eat! Honestly, we were eating here at least once a week it's THAT good!!! My first review that I wrote over a year ago has not changed!! Still rocking 5 SOLID stars and I cannot imagine that changing!!!!!! They are closed for the season right now, though they did pop up this past weekend for the Warren Walkabout as the "Fire Box" offering two different style pizzas (Margherita & Sopressata) OMG they are all over that too!!! SO damn good!!! Follow them on IG for updates!!!

Omg. I've been dying to go here again! Best tacos around! I live in Cranston and would love to be closer! This place is awesome! Don't think about it, just go. You won't regret it.

Delicious tacos and quesadillas in this relatively new food truck. Everything is made to order so it takes a little while. I waited 20 minutes for 3 quesadillas and chips and pico. There are plenty of seating areas and high top tables to stand at while waiting for your order. The place has a nice vibe with music playing and pretty plantings around. The food was fresh and tasty. I'm glad to see Warren is becoming a foodie destination!

I ordered a spicy margarita and my wife got a soda. The bartender has such an amazing personality and made a fantastic spicy margarita with their homemade spicy tequila! The complimentary chips and salsa are always night but the salsa tasted like tomato sauce. We did order queso and it was good but a bit too watery. I ordered sweet potato tacos and was very disappointed that it was filled with fries and not sweet potato. The flavor was great but the menu should reflect that it is fries. My wife got a burrito without meat and they filled it with cauliflower and broccoli which wasn't good. It didn't say that on the menu so it was again, disappointing that it came with that. Overall the service was a 5 but the food was about a 2. So disappointing because this used to be one of our favs.

We ordered the mini stuffies, the hummus plate, and the fried pickles. The mini stuffies were a highlight. Loaded with Mello's chouriço and packed with flavor, they're a solid little bite. My grandfather set the bar pretty high for me on stuffies, and these came close. They have a different profile than what I grew up with; a little less bready, more chouriço forward, and the clam flavor takes a back seat. Not necessarily a complaint, they were just different from what I'm used to and were genuinely tasty. The lemon aioli on top was also a nice touch. The fried pickles were exactly what you want them to be. Crispy, well fried, and the breading actually stayed put while you ate them, which is more than I can say for a lot of fried pickles. They came with the same lemon aioli as the stuffies, which worked just as well here. The hummus plate was a bit of a letdown. We've had it many times before and it used to be a standout. This time the hummus itself was thick and pretty flavorless, more like a dense chickpea paste than anything else. The accompaniments were nice though and consisted of heirloom carrots, cucumbers, olives, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, pickled cauliflower, carrot, and a pepperoncini, all served alongside some buttery round crackers that were like a Ritz cracker's more refined cousin. The veggies saved the plate, but the hummus needs to find its way back. I suppose it could have just been an off batch and won't prevent us from trying it again. Cocktails were great, as usual. I had the Anana with scotch. I love pineapple and this has muddled pineapple and basil, pineapple juice, cracked black pepper. It's my go-to here and it delivered again. My partner went adventurous and ordered the Jungle Booby, which is built around tequila blanco and mezcal with campari, pineapple, grapefruit, lime, orgeat, and an absinthe spritz. The flavors were genuinely good, but the smokiness from the mezcal was a bit much for her taste. She followed it up with a glass of rosé and had no complaints after that. The cocktail wasn't the problem, it just wasn't her style. One of our favorite spots in Warren for a quick nibble, for a good reason.
