Was excited to know they open early for morning people like me who need their coffee and pastry. Counter help was super nice and took the time to explain, why some things aren't labeled. They had a nice set up for the World Cup with lots where everyone can have a view no matter your seat. It's located near Main Street and is easy to get to from transit. I'm excited to make this place part of my regular routine.

This place is massive, with lots of tables to dine in, and a bakery section. We ordered the following: Mondongo (pequeño), bandeja paisa, lengua sudada, and res apanada. The food came out in about 20 minutes. The serving sizes were a little bigger than normal (I am not complaining), every plate looked delicious, and all the plates were hot and fresh. The mondongo was tasty and had a good amount of tripe and the right thickness of the broth. I chuckled when I saw the side of banana, but honestly, it made for a good desert. The bandeja paisa brings a litte bit of everything and it all was cooked well. The lengua sudada was very tender and flavorful and the yucca was soft, with the sauce it was in giving it a really good flavor. The res apanada was a bit tough and the breading did not stick on too well, but overall the flavor was good and the breading was crispy which I enjoyed. The best part of it all was the prices. It is very affordable and you will leave full.   The bakery is inexpensive and the items I have tried and good. They do have a large parking lot and it's free. While in the area, you could visit the Slater Mill (they have tours you could sign up for) or visit the public library. One thing to note is that the GPS might bring you to their old location a couple blocks up the street, so do a little bit of research for the address beforehand.

The smell coming from the restaurant was amazing, so I decided to give it a try. My first experience was excellent--a gentleman helped me, explained the menu, and the food was incredible. Unfortunately, every visit after that has been disappointing. The service has been consistently unwelcoming. I often feel like I'm an inconvenience rather than a paying customer. Since I'm not familiar with all of the combination plates, I ask questions, but instead of being helped, I'm charged separately for everything and receive very small portions. I hate to say it, but as someone who isn't Hispanic, I've often felt like I wasn't welcome there. Whether that's intentional or not, that's how the experience has made me feel. No customer should leave feeling like they don't belong. I drive from Providence because the food is genuinely that good, but great food can only make up for poor customer service for so long. Sadly, I won't be returning. I truly hope they work on making every customer feel welcome because the food deserves the same quality of service.

A friend and I came in and put our names on the waitlist, waited for about 45 minutes at a bar down the street, and then had some of the most fulfilling tapas ever! We got a Prosciutto & Salpicao board, the Queijo de Cabra, and Frijol Dip. I also got a nice portuguese red wine that paired well with some of the cheese we received. We sat in a very sweet and cozy nook and enjoyed every minute! I will be back when it's warm out and the front patio is open!

At their front patio, they had the World Cup game playing, but the back patio felt cozier so we opted for that. The inside though was a strong second since the lighting is very low, creating a cool and calm environment. Walking through the restaurant to get to our table made me realize that each table is unique, no two are decorated the same or have the same furniture. It was a hot day but the overhead mesh cover blocked out a lot of the sun. Our waitress made us feel very welcome from the start and told us about their drink and food specials. My friend ordered Guatemalan beer as well as a Spanish beer. For food, we ordered the plantain fries, octopus, calamari, and shrimp salad, and grilled lamp chops. The seafood salad came out first. According to the menu, it was going to be paired with cornbread. It looked like sourdough bread but had a far denser consistency. I was expecting the salad to have lots of shrimp to act as a filler but surprisingly, it was about 60% octopus, 25% calamari, 10% shrimp, and 5% onions. The seafood was very flavorful, tasted fresh, and cooked perfectly. The portion size was great for two. Next came the plantain fries, which I was least impressed with as it was essentially fried plantain chunks. I think it would have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces that can be easily dipped and consumed in one bite. The plantain was gently ripe, so just a little sweet and the dipping sauce was like a less sour sour cream. Lastly, the lamp chops came out and the presentation was wonderful. They were a bit skinnier and less tender than that I was expecting, but flavor wise they were good. We enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service here.

They've remodeled the interior since I had seen it last, and I really like the paradise-like vibe they portray. The open air environment was neat, but it was a little hot that night. They also had live music and entertainment, so that was enjoyable. My only complaint there is that it was very loud, difficult to hear conversations at the table. Our serve was super friendly, gave excellent details about each special and took his time with our table. Very personable. I ordered the Salmon Aymara and it was delicious! The salmon was cooked nicely and seasoned with some really tasty spices. Asparagus was the vegetable of the day, which is one of my favorites, and that paired with the chaufa rice and béarnaise sauce made for an amazing combination of flavors. Overall, I loved the dish and the atmosphere, and will definitely return! Hopefully sooner rather than later!

The ambiance (and the service) is the star of the show at Los Andes. The relaxing South American music, the koi pond, the hum of happy diners all contributed to a lovely atmosphere. Our server was a true delight, very attentive, making great recommendations. We did not order desert but one of our party had a birthday and when we informed him we had no room for desert he brought out a plate with happy birthday drizzled in chocolate with a small mound of whipped cream and a strawberry. A very nice touch. I ordered a steak dish with the goal of getting as many South American flavors in my dish as possible- it came with a delightful cold salad, very good chimichurri, fried yuca, and a side of cheesy rice. The steak was cooked rare to my liking, which isn't always the case. It was a lot of food, beware. We started with some empanadas- which were also good, and this made it a Thanksgiving level feast. My party also enjoyed their dishes. Overall it was a lovely dinner! We look forward to returning.
