The Store Kitchen is one of my favorite places to hang out. It is good for breakfast or lunch or as a cafe. Lots of baked goods and drinks to choose from, including Matcha Latte and healthy smoothies. Often I get carrot cake, although some days it is better than others - the frosting is always good but sometimes the cake is too dry. The staff speak German and English. Before the pandemic they used to have self-serve water available.
Note: the kitchen closes at 4pm, and although they are open til 7pm, after 6 sometimes the barista is gone and you can't buy drinks anymore.
I feel comfortable here with a laptop because the tables are big, the area is spacious, other people here are having meetings, the WiFi is fast, and there are plenty of plugs. Also I like their music (sometimes there is even a DJ), not too loud and something I can work to.
I can not quite figure out the "store" part - it is so high-end that most of the merchandise is too artsy or too pricey for me (who buys this?). There are all sorts of things for sale: skin care products, sunglasses, odd gadgets, expensive clothing, esoteric art books. It could be related to "Soho House," the building it's in, which is some sort of club. Any clothing I might consider purchasing has an extra digit on the end of my price range! Oh - they also sell vinyl records.
Anyway, I like the ambience and I come here often. read more
