Stopped here by accident in 2015, not realizing that my rental car's GPS wanted to take me through the ocean to Skye (yes, I realize it was taking me to the ferry in Mallaig, but I wanted to drive and see the sights!). No I hadn't mapped anything out beforehand, and did not consult geography when I traveled directly from Glenfinnan to Mallaig. I'm American, duh. Shortest route to Skye? Sure! Sign me up. Anyway, we arrived hungry and annoyed at ourselves for failing to realize the obvious: the lovely Audi we had booked with built in navigation could not, in fact, float. We parked and searched for a spot with WiFi to email our loved ones and check in on our furry friends (I LOVE my dogs), and were honestly so grateful to stumble upon this place. It was total chance that brought us here; or rather, the giant "beer garden" sign out front and the warm sunny day. I may have been following someone else's German Pointer trotting in while wistfully wishing my own pups were there, because of course, it is dog friendly. We came inside and ordered, and whilst sipping the most DELICIOUS mojito I have had in years, we relaxed on the plush leather sofas and enjoyed the free WiFi. The ambience inside is fantastic. But, let me say, we were extraordinarily pleased when we ventured outside to the beer garden amidst full sunshine to enjoy our drinks and await our food. My spouse had the fish and chips, and thoroughly enjoyed them. I had the salmon cakes and was literally in heaven. Truly one of the best meals I had had in weeks. The atmosphere outside was so enjoyable I didn't want to leave. Maybe it was the mojitos? Anyway, I was pleased to encounter such courteous and friendly staff, a lovely rum drink, and such a pleasing atmosphere (WITH DOGS!) so far out of my way. Truly enjoyed my experience and would definitely return. read more
