We arrived here around 8:30 for dinner on a Saturday evening and waited about ten minutes at the bar before seating was available for us. The decor is a bit sparse but still manages to convey cozy Scottish pub at the same time. It's not a terribly large place but was efficient at serving everyone's needs. Our waitress turned out to be very personable and super sweet after she slowed down a bit. She initially was a touch rushed and short but came around :-) The food was savory and totally filling - completely blew my expectations out of the water! The lemon chicken was out of this world! Both my husband and I ordered it and I nearly ate his as well as mine! I would definitely revisit again on any subsequent trips that take us to Dornie!!

It's a really nice surprise to sit down in a little pub in a small town, and find really good dishes. It's not a big place, but managed a good crowd. I had the venison lasagna, would have never knew it was venison if it wasn't listed as such. Several Scottish beers on draft, and friendly staff. They have daily specials on listed on their grease board, unfortunately they had run out of the day's dish and I missed out on savory sounding lamb dish.

Their kitchen was just about closed, and a lot of food was already sold out completely. They managed to prepare some sandwiches for us, which was really kind as we were starving and everything else was closed. It was the perfect end to a rainy and chilly drive in the dark evening. We returned the following day for a proper dinner. This time we had a delicious meal, with good ale, and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Everything was delicious. I think the atmosphere of this warm inn amidst the wild and roaring space deserves some merit as well. The establishment itself has this cozy, communal, and quite bustling atmosphere, which everyone seems to gravitate to in such a mystical and sleepy place. Outside, there's this beautiful, ancient, raw nature, that's so dormant and old, that feels so past civilization and humans, and then you enter this place and reacquaint yourself with people and interaction once again, in a communal, close-knit space. I loved it. I'd really recommend for anyone to just visit the area, walk around, feel its old, natural, and magnificent power, and then stop for a delicious and hearty meal here after. You definitely won't regret it. Try to get there not too late, however, or you might end up with no meal like we almost did!

I'm giving this a four star rating, but it's very much a back-and-forth between different concerns…read more First, it's cool that there's a local brewery on Skye and that's probably a full star bump. The beers themselves are just so-so although some of that is just because the local styles aren't exactly my jam. British pub ale (which is what most of their beers wind up being close to) is just not my jam. That said, they have a few better and more complex beers. The Cuillin Beast (scotch ale) and Black (stout, but not too heavy and closer to a less creamy Guinness) are both pretty decent. Nothing mind-blowing though. If you're a craft beer person, this is a "fun because it's local" more than "fun because they're really good" stop. There's a few bottles of stuff you can find in the shop (including a smoked beer, an ESB, and a lighter ale) that aren't available in the restaurants around Skye, but mostly it's the same beers which you can (impressively) find for sale in almost all the restaurants on Skye. The brewery shop itself is disappointing. It's basically a bottle shop with a bunch of merchandise near the pier in Uig. There's a small coffee shop, but you can't do tastings, there's no food. There's attempt to make a space to hang out and enjoy anything near the pier. Even a few picnic tables with a view of the harbor would be really nice. This all rounds out to a four star for me, but it really depends what you're looking for.

Nice little shop with nice staff, but there isn't a tasting room to try before you buy(I'm not sure…read morewhat the UK's laws are regarding this.). So there is some risk on buying something you might not like, but all the bottles were reasonably price anyway. I paid a reasonable £3.30 for a 500ml bottle of tasty ale.
