I got a standard burger, which was tasty. All of the food feels fresh made and healthy-ish; you don't walk out feeling heavy. Insanely good sandwiches at The Stand -- I had half of the Southwest Chicken Sandwich and half of the BBQ Brisket Sandwich, and every bite of both was amazing! The fries were good, and the service was fast and friendly. The menu is huge -- lots of burgers, sandwiches, salads, and bowls to choose from. I love that they provide indoor & outdoor seating & also appreciate how well kept they keep their store. We opted for outdoor seating & ordered a kids cheeseburger meal along with the chicken club sandwich. The service was extremely friendly & attentive, I really loved how nice & helpful the staff were! Food came out fast & tasted fresh & flavorful. Parking was easy but I could see it being difficult on a busy day as there's only street parking from what I could see. Just went for the first time and got the burger and sweet potato fries. It was the worst burger I've ever had. Burger was dry and tasteless. It was one of those beef patties you find in a school cafeteria. They offered some sort of side condiment but that didn't help cover up the tasteless, dry burger. And the sweet potato fries were the same. Dry and tasteless. This was a waste of $20. Also, tables are never bussed even where they say explicitly that they bus the table and that you don't need to throw away your tray after the meal. They will do it. Not true! The tables were dirty and sticky and I never saw anyone come over with a wet towel to clean off tables for new customers. Pretty bad experience all around. I would not recommend. read more

I've also ordered the Southwest Chicken Wrap a few times too! I also enjoy the Onion Rings they have here. We usually DoorDash from here, and have ordered inside once - when we did the staff was super attentive and answered all my questions, they also gave some suggestions too! This is my second visit (and review) of The Stand. I ordered a cheeseburger again, for $9.95 plus a buck for the cheese. For $11 you get a burger that is superior to any $25-30 burger at a sit-down restaurant. I sat outside (75° in Pasadena today), and there's plenty of seating inside. It's not fancy--you order at the register and take a seat with a number, they serve you--but it's clean and cheerful. My server was Adrian, very upbeat and helpful. I'll keep coming back. read more

Mom and I have been coming here for lunch every time we have a show at the Pasadena Playhouse. By far our favorite place for lunch. We've had most things on the menu that's to our diets (basically little to no meat); and everything is amazing. The Tuna sandwich is a real winner for both of us, always make it a melt! Excellent tuna salad, a delight for each bite and so much of it! Be sure to come hungry or be prepared to box it up. Salads are amazing but even the side salad is just as big. On a day you're feeling a little less and wanting just greens, highly recommend one of the salad. Fresh ingredients, large enough to be a meal alone, they're basically perfect. And when in doubt, make your own sandwich! They make it easy to see all the options and it comes out exactly as requested. Make sure to ask for their pickles, they come in portioned containers and are delish! Excellent snap, not sour or sweet just that happy medium between. Fires are always a must but hands down, get the sweet potato and a side dip of your choice, trust me. Service is excellent, from ordering to bringing the food to being quick with fixing the drink machine. It can get a bit loud inside with a lot of people but it's still easy to hear company. Tables can be shared so don't be afraid to sit at someone else's table or head outside if it's nice out! Parking validation is offered for the garage too. read more

If you're ever in Pasadena and looking for a great spot to grab a burger or sandwich, I highly recommend checking out The Stand. I've actually been here before, and the first time I went I ordered the French Onion Soup Burger with fries and a graham cracker shake. That burger was honestly one of the most unique and delicious burgers I've had. It comes with a side of French onion soup that you can dip the burger into, which sounds a little different at first, but it works incredibly well. The flavor combination was rich and savory, and dipping the burger into the soup just made it even better. The fries were perfectly crunchy and seasoned just right, and the graham cracker shake was phenomenal--thick, creamy, and packed with flavor. This most recent visit was just as good food-wise, although parking was a bit of a challenge. There happened to be a play going on at the theater across the street, so parking around the area was pretty packed and took a while to find. Once we finally got a spot though, everything else about the experience was great. The staff at The Stand were awesome--super friendly, funny, and welcoming, which always makes the experience better. This time I ordered the pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich with fries, my girlfriend ordered the red curry chicken sandwich, and her stepdad got the ABC burger. Everything came out fresh and tasted amazing. My pulled pork grilled cheese was loaded with flavor, the pork was tender, and the melted cheese tied everything together perfectly. My girlfriend loved her red curry chicken sandwich--it had a great balance of flavor and just the right amount of spice--and the ABC burger was just as solid. Another nice perk is that if you're a customer at The Stand, they validate parking for free for 75 minutes, which is definitely helpful in that area. Overall, the food, the service, and the atmosphere were all great. Even with the parking situation that night, it was still a great experience. The Stand continues to be amazing. I always get the chimichurri steak salad with double steak and the charred corn vinaigrette haunts my dreams (in a good way). There's so many delicious options, I love that you can eat healthy AND delicious food here, as well as go crazy and have your best treat yo self days here. Pretty much everyone there has always been really friendly and nice to me. Adrian is the best! (shoutout to Adrian!) And the inside is nice and clean (yes even the bathrooms ). I came here hoping to enjoy a classic hot dog. English is my second language, and I forgot the exact word for 'relish.' However, I described it clearly as the standard green chopped pickle and chopped onion topping and ordered it with ketchup and mustard.
