The first experience would have warranted 5 stars but our second experience here wasn't as good. First time we came we sat at a table and had a wonderful server by the name of Paul. He was attentive and friendly. I ordered the Mexican Street Corn Hash and my bf ordered the cold-smoked salmon benny with the hollandaise sauce on the side. We both enjoyed our meals. On Monday morning we were hungry and decided to get take out from here. I ordered the spicy Cuban rice bowl. This dish sounded great but it was actually bland. The rice was also clumped up a lot. Regardless of the dish, the hostess this time around was extremely rude. Gave us nasty attitude for no reason.

Host greeting was super friendly and they had our table all ready. Service was really nice and wait time for food was reasonable. If you do nothing else here - order yourself a coffee drink. The iced vanilla latte was heavenly. Our food was a slightly mixed bag. The huevos rancheros were uncomfortably spicy - both from the jalapenos and the rancheros sauce. Like fire hot. It made it hard to eat. The diego skillet had delicious guacamole and eggs were nicely cooked. Overall, it could have used more seasoning for flavor.

I need not have worried; there was parking closer by. Oh well. The restaurant is tiny. And it maximizes the space by lining its walls with colorful bottles of wine, chic and cher containers of olive oil, and pots of artisanal honey hiding here and there. My friend pointed out the breathtakingly beautiful bouquet of dried flowers hanging over our table. I should have taken a photo when I had the chance. I started with the spiced brown sugar latte, made with oat milk. Delicious and sweeter than I thought. Even though the menu is small and curated, I could not decide between the nosh plate, the biscuit brekkie, or the quiche, which was the special of the day. So I ended up with the quiche but added the biscuit and bacon - I did not want to miss out. The crust of the quiche was fine, but the custard-like filling was divine, more like a savory crème brûlée or flan. Service was quick and efficient. Our reservation was made for one of the predefined 90-minute blocks, so the staff was on top of getting and delivering our meals and bussing tables as soon as they emptied to make room for the next group of guests.

Sadly, we got a message that they changed us to inside due to possible rain. I understand, but it didn't end up raining and the outside area looked incredible. I added a photo. Oh well. That was the only real bummer. The service was amazing - pacing out all of the small plate dishes in a sensible fashion. We ordered 7 different things, and one extra arrived that we didn't order. Every item was fresh and flavorful. We definitely will come back - though not all the time as that is cost prohibitive. While it definitely is on the pricey side, we are very happy to have dined here tonight.

I normally do not like breakfast burritos since I find them really dry, but the eggs were moist and tender and ditto for the tortilla. I had the sausage, and it was diced and mixed in with the other ingredients, but it was more of a processed sausage (maybe chicken?) with a bouncy texture. Western Potatoes: This dish has diced red skin potatoes with thinly shredded cooked red onions and bell peppers. It has a coating of spice on it which made the ketchup unnecessary as it was already so flavorful. The inside was fluffy, but the outside had no crisp and was slightly oily. I know part of it was due to the fact that it was delivered, but I wasn't a fan still.  Veg Life Quiche: This was a good quiche. The egg were tender with the addition of buttermilk, and it was teeming with spinach, tomato, onion and topped with cheddar cheese. The crust was a standard crust.  This is a solid option for catering if you want to have a more unique place than the standard chain restaurants. I liked how everything was almost all pre portioned out too.

Among so many interesting dishes I think the standouts were the carrot steak and the mushroom fettuccine! But honestly everything we ordered was good! The cheesy grits were very creamy, though I would recommend adding a little more butter to enhance the flavor. That was really my only critique. The restaurant was busy, but after dining there, I completely understand why. Despite the crowd, we were greeted immediately, and the service was prompt throughout our visit.
