Ham, cheese and egg on a jalapeño biscuit
Jennifer M.

Update: we bought several pastries to take to our cabin for later- the sticky bun was so rich and delicious. Lots of pecans and went so well with the ice cream we bought. We also got an oatmeal cream pie which was fresh and delicious and lastly we got a lemon bar! EVERYTHING was so fresh and exactly what we needed! And I didn't get any photos!!

Incredible food...you can tell love and heart go into every dish. Easy parking, right at the door! And incredibly affordable! The stuffed French toast and burritos are amazing!

I had the grilled chicken sandwich and added bacon and it was tasty. They offer a huge salad bar with soups too. But whatever you do, save room for the pie. It's the best!!

Our order: 1 Jack Daniels & Coke = $6.00 2 Kids Juice = $3.98 2 Mac & Cheese = $13.98 (my daughter had two servings) 1 Kids Grilled Cheese = $5.79 1 Patty Melt = $9.99 1 Slice Possum Pie = $3.99 Service was on the slow side both times. The food is reminiscent of Cracker Barrel. The ambiance is similar too, although, Mae's has many old photos of historic Eureka Springs which I adored. We all shared a piece of possum pie which is a famous layered dessert of Arkansas. I'd never had it, but was dying to try it. Highly recommend. The sweet two little old ladies beside us asked about it... There is a small gift shop with local items on display such as jewelry, books, and several foods in jars. Not sure if I'm a raving fan just yet, but it's a good go-to restaurant if everything else is crowded. They do close a bit early, though. Enjoyed an excellent dinner at Local Flavor in mid May on a Wednesday evening. We had a…read morereservation, but it may not have been necessary as not all tables were filled. We were early for the season. We had excellent service from Kristen who was very friendly, informative, and attentive. I had the chicken topped with all of topping, odd goat cheese, and balsamic drizzle. It was fabulous. Also liked the mashed potatoes. My husband enjoyed the creamy Gorgonzola pasta dish with caramelized onions and cherry tomatoes. There were several good looking desserts, but we were too full to try any. Ambience fairly simple but a row of cute lamps lining the shelf up above. There's a small restaurant area as well as a bar area. Some tables outside, but it was too cool for us to try that. Great place in Eureka Springs.

The food matches the setting. The crab cakes are better than most places--crispy on the outside, packed with flavor, and not overly heavy. The cobb salad is a standout too--loaded with a great mix of toppings (definitely check the pic), fresh, and actually filling. The meatball & grits were solid, and the wedge fries on the side hit the spot--simple but done right. This is an easy, go-to lunch spot whether you're taking a break from exploring downtown or wrapping up a day walking around. Great food, relaxed atmosphere, and a perfect place to slow things down for a bit.
