Heard about their famous ocean rolls and stopped to get some for our mini roadtrip. The space is bright and inviting with plenty of seats. Easy street parking. Ordered ham & cheese roll, ocean roll and a lemon twist. The savory roll was quite tasty especially when warmed. The lemon twist was surprisingly moist. As for the ocean roll unfortunately the staff mistakenly bagged another lemon twist instead, and we didn't check until later. Oh well we could plan another roadtrip to Bend I guess.

Voted best bakery in Central Oregon? I knew I had to visit. Offering baked goods, freshly baked bread, breakfast sandwiches, classic sandwiches, steel cut oats, bowl of soup, fruit and fries. They also have a small kids menu. If you are looking for brunch, be sure to try their full line of drinks such as the Sparrow Bloody Mary, Saint Elders Cocktail, Cardamom Old Fashioned, Classic Martini and of course the classic Champagne Mimosa. What I was really looking forward to trying was the World Famous Ocean Roll. This roll has quite the reputation of being a baked delight. It is made with vanilla cardamom sugar rolled into a croissant. I think it The roll definitely lived up to the hype with its unique flavor and was delicious. We also tried the Waldorf - Chicken sandwich which was fresh tasting on a hand rolled croissant. No drinks except for orange juice as we were heading to hike. Interior is very inviting and the kind of place one could spend a couple hours with friends. There is also patio dining which is what we opted for as the day was so lovely. Service was efficient and helpful. Location appears to be in newer part of Bend and parking was street side.

SO good. Good place to work, lots of indulgent options. Ordered ocean roll pastry, monte cristo, and iced chai latte. I attempted to order the sandwich with different bread (the brioche) but they said no substitutions. I'm glad they didn't because it was perfect as is.

Was visiting Bend for the weekend and came across this sweet little bakery! It's walk-up/counter service and then you grab a table after you order. Was there on a chilly winter day and the line extends outside when busy (I have a feeling it's always busy) so dress warm and be ready for a line! They have breakfast food and pastry options. I got the "non-bacon breakfast sandwich" which was egg, avocado, melted cheese, and arugula (I asked for it with no aioli) on a house made croissant. It was so good! I also had the chai with oat milk and it was also delicious with a wonderfully cinnamon flavor. I got a banana loaf to go for a little snack later and as with everything else it did not disappoint! Would definitely return when in Bend again!

I don't know how it's possible that I haven't written a review for Sparrow Bakery, but that will change today! This is one of my favorites for cardamom latte (not many places do them anymore), ocean rolls, croissants, beignets, and French toast sticks! Ok I love breakfast foods and it's all good, what can I say. I frequently brought the cookies into my salon when I worked in Bend. I miss that!

A few things- they need to update their online menu as it's about $2-3 cheaper there and misleading. Took a star off for that. I got the Croque Monsieur and it was fine but needed more mustard and should have been cut in half. The pumpkin spice latte was good. The bacon breakfast sando looked delicious. And my friend's child loved the hot chocolate. There needs to be more seating and it's fairly sterile. In the warm weather patrons can sit outside. The line went fast and the order taker was lovely.

Very cute located in a super cute area. Busy even at 9 am on a Thursday. Got the ocean roll because we had too. So surprised how good it was! I may have liked it better than a cinnamon roll. Doesn't have icing on top, so it's much lighter than a cinnamon roll. Highly highly recommend. Also recommend asking for it warmed up

We stumbled upon Sparrow Bakery when venturing around Bend. I was told their ocean roll was unique and great if you like cardamom. When we got there around lunch they had already sold out. Side note: we walked across to west coast provisions and they had one last ocean roll which they mentioned was brought in that morning. I was excited to try it and it was interesting but not as sweet as a cinnamon roll. I found the bakery to be so big and bright which was great for pictures and enjoying the beautiful Bend weather. I got the pavlova to try because it is such a beautiful dessert that I can't seem to find at home nor want to make without trying it first. The pavlova was tart, sweet, and very delicious. I wish there was more lemon curd in there. I also tried a cookie and a ham/cheese croissant. The croissant was buttery and flakey with the cheese providing such great richness. The cashier wasn't very knowledgeable to the ingredients in the pastries for someone with a nut allergy. That would be my only improvement. we parked on the street and thankfully the area wasn't busy. Lots of other cute shops in the area if you need to help burn off some of those sweets.

The employees seem like one big family! I could feel their warmth while I was in line. I waited a long time (30 min) in line to get to go pastries. I didn't mind because I know the pastries are good, but I wish they had an express lane for pastries (they have an express room to the right of the bakery but it seems like it was just for quick sit down dining). All the pastries in the photo and the lemon meringue tart were delicious!

The Sparrow lives up to its reputation: it is voted best bakery in Central Oregon for a reason. I had the Ocean Roll, think cinnamon roll but substitute the cinnamon for fresh ground cardamom -- delectable. For coffee I had the Iron Worker, an americano with MCT oil and butter. A respectable meal on its own; rich, thick, and sustaining.

We came here two days in a row while staying in Bend. The vibe is warm and airy with high ceilings. Walk up ordering is easy and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The cinnamon bun and ocean rolls are simply amazing. The breakfast sandwich was perfect as well. We have a new regular bend spot!

Absolutely incredible!!! Bear breakfast and pastries I've had in Bend! Totally worth the wait (and there will be a good wait lol) but we got a table fairly easily inside and enjoyed our delicious sandwiches and pastries. You truly can't go wrong with anything here! They also have adorable merch to buy! 10/10 recommend!

Cinnamon pull apart and regular coffee

This is worth whatever wait you encounter! At 8:45am on Monday morning we walked into a long line and I was ready to bolt but we waited it out and was so glad I did. It went super fast despite some idiots waiting until they got to the cashier to figure what the options are. Lordie people. We had the ham and Gruyère croissant sandwich, which is 100 stars on its own. Coffee, a cinnamon pull apart, a blueberry scone, everything bagel with cream cheese and a cappuccino. Every was delicious, fresh, and well worth the wait. Tables seem to turn fast and the coffee can take a bit but if you aren't in a rush, it's no big deal. They have a refrigerated case full of colorful and fancy dessert and lots of baked goods. People were buying things to take home as well as eat in the restaurant. Next door is a walk up window for coffee and treats. Love the vibe here too, it's fun and well organized to seat from 1 to 8 people. Most of the seating is designed for couples and there is outdoor seating as well. Love love love this place.

Bakeries were seemingly on every other block and I knew that I was going to do some serious damage to my expectations upon my return to Bend. I am happy to report that M's is my new daily destination for pastries at the Old Mill. This is a bakery that could compete with the best pattiseries and boulangeries in Paris. They offer croissants, almond croissants, chocolate croissants, seasonal chuffins, ham & cheese croissants, monkey bread, kougi amann, blueberry muffins, gluten-free cookies, and more. I always leave with one or two boxes full of treats. I've tried their olive sourdough, which I found to be excellent, if albeit pricey-enough to make it a rarer purchase for me. They have an excellent selection of coffees, as you'd expect. But the thing I must emphasize is that we have a bakery *right here* in Bend that could hold its own against the best in France! Highly recommended!
