The Porkbelly Burger with Old Bay fries
    Clarence B.

I liked this place. I had the daily special which was a sandwich, advertised as a burger with fries seasoned with Old Bay. I liked fries, they had the right amount of Old Bay seasoning. The entree was the daily special for Thursday which was advertised as a pork belly burger, that I feel was a missed opportunity. The burger had no patty but instead, two or three pieces of seasoned pork belly with a sweet barbecue sauce. Not bad, just not as advertised. I was looking forward to enjoying the pork belly with the burger, not instead of a burger.

Ahh the space bar. Hours are: 11am-7pm, M-F *yelp is wrong even through I've submitted the correction numerous times Here's the low down on the food: Sandwiches, burgers, daily specials (gyros, fish tacos, poutine, etc), and pub food favorites such a as fries, mozzarella sticks, chicken wings, chicken fingers Truffle fries and the Philly cheesesteak are my go-tos Drinks: Full bar, about 8 taps that rotate-- and yes they have beer flights, coffee espresso type beverages (mocha, cappuccino, latte) Fun Facts: *No liquor is served till 4pm, but beer at lunch is ok *Thur/Fri is all day happy hour pricing on adult beverages (pitcher of craft beers go down to $8/12) *Last call is 6:30pm for food, 6:45pm for drinks *separate lines/paying for food vs adult beverages/coffee *extra sides of sauce (to dip fries in) are requested/added at the register *uber can come on base to space bar *nasa wifi reaches to the space bar walls, so a working lunch is possible :)

I had a really nice chat with one of the owners there and they all seem like really lovely people--kind hearted with little kids around so hopefully they stay around for some time! They were still redoing the front of house so not sure when they will open fully but looking forward to trying more Azerbaijan food. Since I've never had Azerbaijan food before, I asked for a recommendation and he said all of the food is good but did say that the chicken shawarma was big and I was feeling a bit hungry so went with that. It came with fries and some peppers, which reminded me of banana peppers. Not spicy with a briney taste to it, great accompaniment. He also tossed in this yogurt drink (I didn't get the name) that was tasty. Overall, good food and will be back to try their lamb kebabs and the burger as well and interested to see what their pizzas will be like as well. Love seeing small family businesses like this and hope they do well!

This is their most recommended dish and for good reason. Side of fries were nice and crispy too: I also tried the grilled chicken plate and that was pretty good as well. Again, good portion! On my first visit, they offered a drink for free and I tasted the Ayran (yogurt based drink). Friendly people. Next time, I'll try the Baku Chicken sandwich. Btw, it's in a small parking lot next to a restaurant, and you should have parking spots at the back. There always seems to be a decent crowd occupying the tables near the food truck.

First, I like the glass. There are stained glass windows at the front and in the ceiling that add beauty and character. It was order at the counter, seat yourself, and pickup your own food. This made it faster, which was appreciated. The chicken burgers feature thighs, not breasts, which means someone here has a brain. THANK YOU! They did had Gluten Free buns available, too. Thursday night, it was noisy but no judgement. Husband got mushroom burger, came with chips. Enjoyed. I got a bacon bbq chicken burger. Decent. Gluten Free buns tend to crumble and that's life. Came with chips. We also ordered a side of bacon and cheddar fries. I thought they were stale, sadly. Like they were made from old fries and then cheese added or created as held until ready. There is a large outdoor patio that looks dog friendly. I think we should try this place again.

Okay but... a hotel coffee shop with good matcha? That's the plot twist I didn't know I needed…read more We stopped here on my way out of Santa Clara heading to San Francisco -- it's conveniently close to a bunch of other spots, and since it's tucked inside a hotel, parking was ridiculously easy. (Underrated luxury.) Now, the hotel itself? Visually... a moment. It looked like someone invested serious money into it, but the design felt a little space-meets-startup-meets-what's-happening-here. Some elements felt elevated, others felt a bit makeshift. I genuinely couldn't tell what the theme was -- futuristic? celestial? boutique-on-a-budget? I'm still processing. The front desk team was clearly well-trained and knowledgeable -- they had every answer, every stat, every rate breakdown ready. But the warmth? Missing. I was hoping for a little storytelling since I'd never heard of the hotel before, and instead got a very matter-of-fact "we've been here five years" energy. Efficient, yes. Inviting, not quite. But let's talk about why you're really here: the coffee shop. Completely different vibe. Two people working, both genuinely happy, welcoming, and quick. We ordered a latte and a matcha to go -- total was about $22, which made me blink for a second -- but then I tasted the matcha. Oh. This wasn't the overly sweet, dusty-green situation you sometimes get. It tasted clean. Real. High-quality. The kind of matcha that feels intentional. I love Firehouse in Marin, but this? This was closer to serious coffee roaster-level quality. Smooth, organic-tasting, beautifully balanced. You could tell they care about what they're serving. Branding was strong, the space was cute, and I could absolutely see myself sitting there with my laptop pretending I'm writing something important. We grabbed ours to go, but it had that easy, airy, "stay awhile" energy. Would I book the hotel? Jury's still out. They don't have an in-house spa and mentioned bringing in third-party services for certain amenities, which made it feel a little less full-service than I expected. Would I go back for the coffee shop? Without hesitation. Delicious drinks, easy parking, quick service, and a vibe that actually makes you want to come back. Sometimes the side character steals the show -- and in this case, it's 100% the matcha.

Because, once again, I was distracted by the quality of the food, and there would be no way for me to do anything else, but to eat! Today, I was in the mood for something more than a salad (much as I wanted to preset what I had the first time coming here, I made a concerted effort to order something else...), thus I chose the Forager Flatbread. It took less time to make this time (roughly about five minutes after ordering), and when it came out, I marveled at how it looked like a work of art! Just beautiful! Each piece of herbed formage blanc flatbread had a nice, crunchy bottom (but not blackened) and a slightly tanginess, with a a good amount of "hen-of-the-wood" mushrooms, sweet roasted garlic and a bed of arugula. My, oh, my! My first bite was a multi-level extravaganza! The crunch of the bread, followed by the aroma of the herbs and arugula, then the saltiness of the cheese, the sweetness of the roasted garlic, the earthiness of the mushrooms - all came together as just a wonderful work of culinary art! This being my first time eating today, my saliva glands just fired off at first bite, causing a bit of intense pain from too much saliva shooting out. But, seriously, this was a very delicious entree, that I enjoyed from start to finish! Bravo for this second joyous experience!

The fried chicken sandwich itself was pretty great, you have to love breading because the breading is very very heavy, but the meat itself was just as juicy. Very very fair pricing for such a huge burger and in a very nice location as well. The tender beef wrap was not so great at all, the beef was far from tender and more chewy than anything.
